Sorry to say it but i think Ashton is as good as gone . Why else would we spend an inflated amount on another striker when Peter Thorne hasn''t even been given a chance .If he has £2m to spend with Ashton staying i think he would have spent on a class centre back.

No doubt for me and i have watched Norwich for 45 years - Kevin Keelan , the best goalkeeper Norwich have ever had by a long way.

I thought Helveg played very well when he came on yesterday - He calmed things down , passing was good and was a class player even though he was playing out of position . Holt was dreadful all match , as was Bentley . Can''t believe Worthy can''t find a place for Helveg in the team under current injury and form situation.

OK - So Worthy has done a good job getting into the Premiership no doubt - But surely we are entitled to a bit better than what we have been served . We all knew that the team that won promotion wasn''t good enough for the Premiership, so why on earth are we playing that very team ????  Why has he bought 8 players and playing only one of them ???? Why hasn''t he replaced Iwan when he knew in April he was going ? Why didn''t he hang on to Kevin Cooper who is twice the player Jonnson is and scoring for fun at Wolves ?? Why can Helveg captain Inter Milan yet cannot replace a Wolves reserve ?? Yes , i thought we would struggle , but not capitulate . There is little doubt that we are going down , and this is purely down to Worhington''s inability to strengthen the team . Answers please Mr Worthington.

I absolutely agree - It is difficult to identify one worse side than us ,never mind three . Not surprising as a failure to buy wisely has left us with the same team that went up who we knew were not good enough to stay up. It is a fact that half a dozen Championship sides have a better strike force than we have today - i can see no way out i''m afraid . We have lived on spirit and fight but the confidence is leaving the team and even Worthington had no answers on saturday night ( he even asked Roy Waller if he had any ideas !! ). Prepare for a very long season .

I really do not understand what is going on at NCFC . It was universally accepted that the team that won us promotion would need a complete revamp to have any chance in the Premier League . This was the view of Roy Waller / Neil Adams and most other pundits and dare i say most supporters . Only Green , Huckerby and Francis would be automatic choices - So we have bought Jonnson , Helveg , 2 keepers , Bentley ,Safri ,Doherty and Charlton to supposedly add the missing quality that would be needed- The result is that only Charlton is playing consistently and we have been reduced to basically the same team that won us promotion minus Iwan ( who despite being shown the door before the end of the season hasn''t been replaced - this should have been top priority ) and Kevin Cooper ( who is twice the player that Jonnson is and was allowed to go back to Wolves - yes he could beat players , make and score goals ) . Are we really surprised that we have failed to win a game ??  Why have we bought international players who are seemingly no better than what we had ? As well as Edworthy has played , he couldn''y get a game for Wolves , yet he is keeping out an Inter Milan international ? Can these players be so bad or is it they regard Norwich as one last pay day ??? Why is Worthington falling out with his players ??  Isn''t it about time that Worhington gave the supporters an explanation as to why every single player he has bought ( minus Charlton ) cannot get into the team ??Can the board trust Worthington with any more money - I wouldn''t think so . So , don''t be surprised at the position we are in . The failure to beat 10 men Blackburn with last years team( even Henderson is back ! ) is indicative of where we are going - Back to the Championship . Bad signings , no money to spend, no wins- We are indeed in trouble. Worhington - What is going on ?

I thought Jonsson was rubbish and has had more than enough time to prove himself . Why oh why did Worthy not buy Kevin Cooper - He is twice the player that Jonsson is and can actually beat players and make goals , something which Jonnson is seemingly incapable of . We are missing the Cooper factor from last year , no doubt about that .

I agree . He really was up for it . At long last Worthy has played the attacking formation up front ( Hucks, McKenzie and Svennson ) which won us the league last year . It is clear that we need to score more goals and this combination seems to click . I would rather we went down fighting with attacking football rather than play just two up front which is clearly not going to be enough. We were unlucky today but we need to win very soon otherwise i fear heads will drop . I was very dissapointed in Helveg today - His passing was awful and responsible for Everton''s 2nd goal - Surely we deserve better from someone with his pedigree ???

Norwich''s biggest mistake was not hanging on to  Cooper , on loan from wolves . From the moment he came on at Crystal Palace last year he made chances and turned our season around when we were looking nervy . He beat opponents down the right side , something Jonnson cannot do . We have struggled all year down the right all year and he hasn''t been replaced . Nigel could do worse than get him back in January , now Wolves are in trouble and maybe with another striker the goals will start coming again !!

So he has known since mid April that very fact - he even dispensed of Iwan . Surely if there was any doubt about getting another striker he should have kept Iwan on until he replaced . Is Doherty any better than Iwan in his position ???? Is Svennson ??? Getting a quality striker should have been top priority - WBA seem to be able to find them.

The issue is that neither Bentley , Johnson or Doherty are out and out strikers and if we are to survive we need a regular proven goalscorer . What amazes me is that we knew before any other club in Div 1 we were promoted , we knew even before that we were letting Iwan go and you would have thought this would have been a priority alongside a centre half . Yet we have bought a full back who is playing centre half , a centre half who is playing centre forward , an international full back and right midfielder who can''t get into the team and whilst the team have played with commendable spirit you can''t help but conclude that without a quality striker and centre half over the season we will not score enough goals and let too many in. I hope i am wrong !

A lot has been made quite rightly so of the Huckerby influence , but how about Colin Cooper - Norwich were definately wobbling when he arrived and Henderson was looking completely out of confidence on the right hand side . Enter Colin Cooper in second half v Palace and we haven''t looked back . In fact we have won every game since Palace and he has done a lot to calm the midfiled down , with his neat incisive passing - all of a sudden we began to play football again and score goals! His contribution to Francis goal on saturday was typical of his skill level which will be needed next year . He can shoot , go past defenders and pass - Well done to him for his big contribution to keep us on the right road. Give Cooper a contract and soon before another club realises the difference he has made.

i have thought about my statement, i never doubted huckerby and still don''t. i still think he is a brilliant player.i have seen him play alot of times and do agree with most people that DH is a very good player and has proved himself. The point i was making is could Worthington had got a better player than Huckerby for a lower or the same price as DH? I think he is one of the best that you can get for the price they payed. I was just asking, is there a player that is better than him at that price? i am just like all of you, i too think that huckerby is better than Rooney and will be one of our best strikers. Not only at the club, but in the division. I also think he will do really well against Everton and will score on his first game back for the Canaries!

No offfence taken ! This forum is all about us expressing opinions . Unfortunately i have not had the opportunity to see Huckerby play except the two games he did not play well ? Anyway it seems that the deal is going to happen . And that will undoubtedly give the team a huge lift . They i''m sure will believe they can get promotion with him, however he plays ! I''m looking forward to Worthy''s press conference - " Ladies and Gentlemen - We''ve got him ! "

OK , so i have only watched 2 games this year, Sunderland and Coventry at home . Huckerby in both games was very poor . I listen to match commentary every Saturday and i am only reflecting what i hear . Yes , no doubt he is a quality player and in half dozen matches he has either made or scored goals and i would love him to join NCFC but not at any price please !!! You have to doubt how committed he is if he is offered a deal better than he is on today and still won''t join . I have followed NCFC for 44 years since my father took me to my first match as a 5 year old , so no jibes on me being a Reading supporter !

I wonder if we would have had all this Huckerby mania if he hadn''t scored that wonder goal in his last match ? If we look at his other performances , some were very average and hardly match winning . The fans have pushed the board on a " get Huckerby at any cost " mission. How may Premiership clubs has Huckerby been turfed out of ? If he was consistently turning in Cardiff performances fair enough but i suspect he is a big game player and that if he had signed for Norwich we wouldn''t have got those performances on many occasions. Forget Huckerby and move on - We will i''m sure pick up a more than adequate replacement .
