Otsemobor for right midfield
FilletTheFishWife . replied to The Chief's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Why don''t we try him at right midfield (if he''s still here next season). He can''t defend so if we stick a half decent right back behind him he could do a job. Not many defenders could live with his pace so I think it could work.
yeah, let''s try him in every position until we accept he''s no good wherever you play him. i''d rather try stuart nelson in right midfield! the fella has only one talent and that''s for running fast, flicking the ball from heel to other foot and then stopping. Ots was sheer rot. get rid soon. -
Kenny Lunt and Wade Small
Both been released by Wednesday. Well worth a go in league 1!
Lenny was a decent player how many seasons ago? -
Paul Ince would be to Norwich, what Keane is to Ipswich! Thats IMO! club need to be bold and this type of appointment is what is now needed unless we want 4-5 years + stuck in League 1. Now is not the time to Stay with Yellow blood just because of the costs, cut costs else where but not the team and the manager AGAIN. Doing that brought us to where we are now. Cheers, all. (Feel better now I''ve said my bit! Before we all see the board muck it up again!)
Paul Ince''s best achievements were in League 2 which might be appropriate for 2010/11 but how about a manager who was sucessful in league 1 (promoted QPR) and Championship (turned Plymouth into a force in the Championship - anyone at Home Park with me 10/11/2007 will vouch for that). Forget the blip at Leicester where Mandaric was pulling the strings and hiring and firing at will, the choice for me would be Ian Holloway.
Interesting goings-on... the club are set to write to all season ticket holders and ask whether each of us will waive the season ticket rebate (15% or 10%) caused by relegation. There''s even a "Facebook group" spearheaded by this knobhead - have you ever seen a face you''d like to punch so much as this one?http://www.facebook.com/s.php?ref=search&init=q&q=waive&sid=b52316a405d61fa4601b1c0e5c0324f0#/group.php?sid=d2b259d44816898a827fa90bf03a994f&gid=96365853145&ref=searchSo, who''s going to let the club keep the money and who''s having it back?I''m having it back.

100% correct. Hux would''ve kept us up. Roeder and the appointment of him was the worst thing to happen to this club in its entire history. The wrong manager at the wrong time.
hucks is 1 player.. he wouldnt of kept us up.. he was slowing down and becoming less and less effective every game towards the end... 1 man does not make a team. jas :)
1 man does not make a team but can certainly make a difference. true ...he was slowing down - but he was still our best player and would have remained so. I bet every opposing team focused on Hucks as our main threat. All they have done this season is probably laugh at our team''s impotence.

Once all the loaness have returned to sender, the out-of-contracts departed (**** off Fozzy) and any decent players have been picked off by Championship teams who will be left with....? Jon Otsemebor whose sole talent appears to be running very fast and then stopping.... the bloke can''t defend, and has cost us so many points this season and yet has played so many games due to a lack of an alternative. there will be 23 left-wingers who will relish playing against this coma.

Lee F'ing Croft?
FilletTheFishWife . replied to Captain Holt's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Are some people deluded?
Incredible isn''t it. I know its a matter of opinion but how can so many be wrong? -
I’m not saying the lad didn’t do ok last night but everyone seems to be reporting on an ‘incredible’ performance. I’m not deliberately being a miserable sod when I say this but apart from a couple of decent dribbles last night Cody McDonald actually looked pretty poor. He looked clumsy on the ball, he constantly lost possession by overrunning straight to defenders, his link up play was messy, he showed greed on the ball (a simple lay off to Lee during the first half could and should have opened the scoring), his runs were poorly timed. Basically he looked like he was making it up as he went along with little or no input from Mr Gunn. There was no sign of a tactical approach to his game whatsoever. I’m just a little baffled why everyone see’s him as a decent signing. Sure he’s only been in the professional game for two months but I don’t think he is anywhere good enough to play of Norwich City.
what did you expect from a player playing non-league football 4 months ago. at least the effort was there. if he is nowhere good enough to play for NCFC what about Gow, Otsemebor and Lee who were absolute pants last night?
I dont know what it is with norwich, but we always seam to need a scape goat. Past "whipping boys" (as neil adams puts it) have been holt, hughes, cureton, otsemobor and now Roeder. Norwich fans memories are pretty short, lets not forget who saved us from this situation last season when we were about 3-4 points clear at the bottom of the table. Roeder gave the team confidence to go on an 11 game unbeaten run and avoid relegation. This season he brought in some quality signing on a small budget. i.e. hoolahan, bell, clingan and dejan. He also brought in some good loans; grounds, Kennedy, lita and bertrand (though he has suffered for a patch after playing so many games in 2 seasons, lets not forget how young he is). There have been some poor signings too, Tory A-H, omouzsi (though anything is better than otsemobor), koroma (didnt get a run and was injured). But then again so have most resent norwich managers including gunn. I felt that Roeder got unlucky with injuries to key defenders and loosing or drawing games by the odd goal where we maybe should have had something, but he stopped the 2 and 3 goal losses that we had been on since the prem. Everyone thought cureton was doing poorly so roeder sent him out on loan. People forgot how bad he was playing, we got him back off loan and then everyone wanted him out of the team again. People may ask questions about the players he released such as strihavka, brelier, murray, robinson etc but none of them set the world alight when they were here and he needed to free up wages for his own signings. Im not saying i agree with his methods but he does not deserve as much criticism as some give him or at the board for picking him as he did what he was hired to do in his first season. I personally place more blame on peter grant. when he came to the club he seemed to go mad when he saw his transfer budget buying poor players left right and centre. Chadwick, brown, lappin, gilks, otsemobor, brellier, cureton, fotheringham, marshall in his first season then strihavka, russell, murray in the second season. So if your wondering where all the money from the prem and sale of green, francis and ashton went... Out of these 12 signings in just over a year i would rate russell as ok, cureton as ok for the money did well first season but lost confidence. and marshall as quite good shot stopper but could have signed someone with experience that could kick and command his area for less. Naturally these players didnt gel quickly and we ended up wasting millions. After Grant left everyone said they wanted a manager with experience and passion was not enough. Then when Roeder left everyone wanted passion again and championship experience went out the window. Don''t get me wrong I have nothing against Gunny but he''s not got any experience as a football manger and its shown. he''s lacked confidence to make changes when they have been needed in games. To be fair to the board, they have backed every manager with funds and tried their hardest to get players that the manager wanted. But they have made a couple of mistakes, especially when appointing managers. I feel that if we had appointed an experienced man after worthy and given him the kinds of money grant got we would have done a lot better. I think Roeder was a good appointment and he did what he set out to do when we got him. This season he did not have enough money to sign players and doubt even Jose Mourinho could have got us higher than mid table with the players and money Roeder had. The other key decision the board got wrong was in appointing gunn. sure that left more money for loans but i think an experienced manager may have been able to get more out of the current squad. I do believe its time for the board to go, but its not that simple as there needs to be a replacement to step in with cash to revive this club. whether that be a petter cullam or a consortium of local business people i doubt it will happen and if we dont get relegated next weekend get ready for another hairy ride at the bottom of the table. if we do go down, without money we may struggle to make the playoffs. Leicester made it look simple but Milan Mandarić said it cost him £10m in lost revenue and players fees and wages to get them up. OTBC
couldn''t be bothered to read any excuses for Glen who :- got rid of our best player Hucks loaned Cureton to Barnsley! sold shackell to Wolves (who has been one of our best players since he returned on loan) brought in Koroma, Henville etc treated the fans with contempt and can rot in ex-manager''s hell for an eternity
Any season ticket holder who doesn,t wave the 15% refund option is a discrace in my view.
so you''d decline the refund so they can pocket the money or invest it in wages for another Koroma. Archibald-Henville or Killen? sadly most of the players who''ve played (supposedly) for NCFC this season won''t be here next season to suffer the consequences of a wage cut. we''ll be left with sh!Te no one else wants e.g. Ots add me to the ''disgraced''. they can put me on a wall of shame on the jarrold stand if you want

Should Otsemobor be dropped?
FilletTheFishWife . replied to San Miguel's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I''ve seen Ots play far worse than that. Can we drop him? Have we got anyone better at right-back. It would be a gamble to tinker now (better the devil you know). Personally I thought Bertrand was far worse. -
Sorry for starting anew post on this.......But wasn''t sure where to add it too!!.....From what i saw on saturday he played well!!..Why are loads of people cruxifying him?.......
An average game for me but better than his midfield compatriots Carney and Croft. Seemed good in posession and his crossing and passing were good but can''t recall many tackles and so our midfield was weak defensively.

John Prescott Slams Norfolk
FilletTheFishWife . replied to Bruce Eats Walkers!'s topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
can''t believe how sensitive so many people are and how uptight people can get over nothing. like all counties there is good and bad. Norwich is a fine city and the North Norfolk coast is beauitful (or should i say bootiful) but there are also a fair share of sh!tholes too (i won''t list them for my own safety). There''s a similar variation in the human population too and many fit the stereotype that is frequently cited and ridiculed. who cares what Coogan, Ross & Prescott think. as long as you''re happy then that''s all matters. -

would it be lappin?? Lee?? Clingan?? Doc??
How many times this season has Lappin played in the first team? Doc has vastly improved, along with Crofty, Sammy too. It''s difficult to give player of the season, it''s only just recently we''ve has some sort of settled side, with just the odd change. Out of our perm players (assets) my votes would be for Doc (never thought i''d say that) and Croft.
and hence the phrase "Lies, damned lies, and statistics" if you apply an average (mean), and Lappin gets 9 for the Birmingham match he wins as i doubt any other player has averaged 9 or above as i would require a 10/10 for every 8/10. For me, the Doc wins hands down. Not based on averages - but on the simple fact he has been our best player over the course of the season and no one else comes close.

Whats the worst area of the team currently?
FilletTheFishWife . replied to hogesar's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Hi Hog :-) Its the midfield for me. Such a crucial part of the team yet one that disappears faster than the end of my sente Defence? Full backs are a real problem, and the lack of strikers remains a real issue. However a teams engine room is the midfield as it protects the back 4 and is the teams creative force. Its where the teams energy comes from, yet we have too few assists and too many goals conceeded by midfielders coming into the box without a tracking midfielder of ours.
That''s the whole team then ?! Agreed....especially our sh!te full backs. -
thanks Bryan for getting these players in the transfer window i''m sure their clubs are grateful for us paying their wages p.s. how crap must Leijer be if Ots is keeping him out of the side
Let''s all decline our season ticket refunds for next season so we can help Norwich pay other club''s player wages for them to warm our bench! These acquisitions have really turned our season round. Were they chosen by the same people who brought Archibald-Henville, Koroma and Lupoli to NCFC? -

Hats off to the away supporters
FilletTheFishWife . replied to Superflash's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Sorry for starting a new thread covering something which has already been said tonight, but I feel extra credit must go to our fans who braved the wind and rain to go down to Loftus Road and completely outsing the QPR supporters for virtually the whole game. In the second half despite QPR often getting the better of the possesion, our fans still wouldn''t give up hope and no matter how cliched it sounds to say they were the twelve man tonight is an understatemant. Just to point out this is not to say our fans have been quiet all season or anything like that, far from it. I just thought they deserved all the praise they get tonight. Well done folks, and I wish you a safe journey home.
i went to the match with my 13 year old son and a friend (a neutral) and I was ashamed and embarassed of some other supporters around me. True, they sang, but they were drunk and disorderly and it was hardly surprising when at least two of them were ejected. As we defended each corner, the team were supported with shouts like "Russell...you''re a c***....Croft you''re a c***, Marshall...you''re a c***. Quite a repetoire! Lennon & McCartney would have been envious. And to cap it all, their frustration at the reluctance of those around them to accompany their eloquent, were also a bunch of c***s. They made me so proud. -
About time as well
FilletTheFishWife . replied to jim blair's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
just because he goes wild when he scores (how many times is that exactly?) doesn''t compensate with total lack of commitment for the remaining 90 minutes. It''s not just about celebrating goals...otherwise you might as well pick 11 of us at random from the crowd. And interestingly, you claim he has unfairly been made a scapegoat and then suggest one of your own (although i happen to agree with your selection who unlize Fozzy doesn''t seem to have any competition for his place)! -
Fozzie v The Fans: A serious debate
FilletTheFishWife . replied to Match Day Pie's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Just a thought. Perhaps Gunny''s being crafty. He''s trying to loan him out. "This bloke''s a useless article who doesn''t really give a monkey''s when the going gets tough" Or " He''s an excellent player, but his form''s a bit down at the moment & the fans have got on his back, which has worn him down" You decide.
a theory perhaps, but i suspect that most clubs do their homework, and don''t buy "blind" (e.g. Archibald-Henville, Koroma, Lupoli) and therefore would come to the first conclusion you have suggested. I can''t believe the pity being metered out here. He comes on to the pitch, swaggers about, doing f** all, week after week, (apart from a couple of efforts when a new manager arrives) and expects not get the derision he deserves? I''m glad he only signed a one year contract. Good riddance. He''s one of reasons we''re in the mess we are in. Scapegoats in football teams are usually deserving. Ok, some of the brain-dead will go over the top but if they are good enough and/or apply themselves witha modicum of effort they will win over the crowd. I''m just glad, he did only sign a one-year contract.
