1.
I believe it is only 1,800, so good chance of a Group 2 ballot I''d say for this one.
does anyone know for sure how many there are in groups 1 and 2. i know group 2 has become bloated with people using their stubs from this season but i''d still be surprised if there was over 1800.

 4.

This has been done to death before.I have been to 15 away games this season, but I am only a member (choose to spend my hard earned on away games as I enjoy them more) but I am in the same category as a season ticket holder who hasn''t been to an away game this season. I''m most probably going to miss out on Charlton and (more gutted) Bristol Rovers even though I''ve been to places like Carlisle, Hartlepool, Exeter and Swindon (JPT). It''s the way the system works, and I''ve been lucky in the past when others have not!I suppose this is what happens when we are successful. In recent seasons there has been little need for a detailed allocations policy. However, what annoys me is that Season ticket holders (who already have a home ticket) can buy tickets for home matches the same time as members. A cunning ploy to get money out of supporters by hoping they''ll buy a super membership.Oh well, I probably should have bought an away season ticket this season but I think the wife may have killed me!!!
But who has made a significant contribution to the Club''s finances by coughing up the money for every home game.
i would expect that most away season ticket holders and those going to 10+ away matches are also home season ticket holders anyway. the main gripe seems be those who want to cherry pick the local and other pivotal away matches and can''t quite grasp the logic behind the current priority groupings. doubt we saw many of those at carlisle this season or travelling to many away matches in the championship when Grant, Roeder and Gunn habitually put out teams who frequently under-performed and had little concern about the club drifting into the 3rd tier for the first time in 40+ years. why should fans who weren''t been willing or able to travel long distances to games last season when there was little chance of a result have the same priority as those that did? i realise that there are many reasons (budget, family, work etc) which prevent many from attending away matches but i strongly suspect that many of the complaints are from those that just choose not to and are just annoyed that they can''t get on the bandwagon when going to away matches has become a better experience   Have to say I agree with farley here on both issues. The priority group disparity has always been a gripe of mine, and by the by I''m speaking as an away season ticket holder for this season and former home season ticket holder and regular away traveller for many seasons. I think away travellers like farley should be rewarded for their efforts with a priority group of their own, bumping season ticket holders with no stubs down to group 4, members with no stubs down to 5, and general sale down to 6. Especially in recent seasons where we''ve had a waiting list on season tickets, so members couldn''t easily upgrade. A habitual season ticket holder that doesn''t bother with most aways (and there are plenty of those), has to do bugger all to earn their group place; the majority have little to travel, they needn''t do anything to have their seat renewed, they dont have the hassle of ringing for (away or home) tickets, and their £30-odd quid gets taken automatically out of their bank account each month. Not forgetting that this sum works out at a reduced rate for each game, compared to the casual price for the same seat. A member that does many aways has to put in considerable time, money and effort in attending matches up and down the country, with the added cost that travel incurs, and the pressure to maintain their ''Ten Stubs Club'' membership each and every season in order not to drop down a priority group. Barring concessions rates for those that apply, they don''t get discounted prices either. And they will always have the hassle of applying for every game they go to, home or away. How is it fair that a season ticket holder can jump into the same group for one key match, when a member has had to put in a real shift all season for the priviledge? Farley''s other point about season ticket holders getting the same application date is something I hadn''t really considered as much, but totally agree on. It does make a mockery of having the membership at all, forcing people to pay double to ''go super''. Season ticket holders already have the priviledge of a guaranteed seat for every home game, so why can''t they be forced to wait a couple more days to apply for extras for mates, to give members at least some crumbs of comfort?
5. a lot of the negatives about chris martin are based on the remnants of the Roeder propaganda machine   its sad that people can''t make up their own minds without being swayed by other opinions
 6.
Only for 90 minutes tomorrow night though! I want the title for City, simples, oh, and the odd card to Leeds wouldn''t hurt either.
have you ever enjoyed the hospitality on offer at the Den?i''m not partial to either, but would rather leeds won than the pikey scum from bermondsey and besides it keeps 3rd place at a distance!
 7.
Looking at the posts on other threads, this is obviously a big area of contention At the moment we seem to have either a ballot scheme or a complete free-for-all, where apparently big allocations become all to obviously over subscribed (eg Orient). Ticketing is something our club have always had issues with - remember Inter Milan and season ticket holders being able to buy 4? - and Im guessing any other club with a reasonable following home & away has the same issues The argument is made that those travelling to every away game should have the first pick of any ''high priority'' games. Thats fair enough but the comment is usually followed up by the idea that regular away travellers are ''better fans''. But what about those who cant afford to go to every game? I''ve got kids and we''re on a tight budget although Orient will be my 4th away trip of the season. But I''ve been going to games for 33 years - does that make me less of a fan? Or Jem - one away trip this season which happens to be Colchester - and gets criticised by a more regular away traveller who didnt get a ticket. But Jem has supported the club for years, sold programmes, etc and cant travel because of family commitments. Personally I dont think people like Jem should be pushed down a ballot either, just because they can''t afford to go to more than 1 away game. Likewise a free for all isnt fair - because not everyone can get into the city quickly, and not everyone can call in during ticket office hours Im sure people will have their own ideas, probably based on a method that will suit them. However for what its worth here is my idea - lets take an allocation of 2000 which is expected to be over subscribed Top priority goes to the Away Season tickets. Ive seen elsewhere that we have 400 of those. So that leaves 1600 for others. We still use the priority groups - but each get a number of tickets, decreasing as you go down the list. Using the current 5 groups you may have Group 2 - 800 tickets. Group 3 - 500 tickets Group 4 - 200 tickets Group 5 - 100 tickets On top of this, for up to 3 games you can pay a small non-returnable fee - say £5 or £10 to go ''up'' one level Each level - if over subscribed - has a ballot of its own. If any level is undersubscribed then the remaining tickets filter down to the next level Net result - everyone gets a chance. Some of the regular travellers MAY have to stay home for the likes of a game at Ipswich, and some non-regular travellers may go instead. But the non-regulars may then become regular themselves So what do others think the fairest way might be? One of the current methods? Or something else entirely? Over to you...
Anyone devising a new priority scheme will inevitably choose a scheme that gives them a better chance of getting tickets. I travel to Norwich from Braintree for every home game and at least 10 away games a season. This has included Carlisle and plymouth and many no-shows on behalf of Grant and Roeder teams...   I''d be pretty p!ssed of if an alternative scheme is adopted that means someone who has a season ticket but rarely goes away getting tickets for games they have cherry-picked. So i can carry on being one of the few hundred who go to 10+ away games per season at considerable expense and then risk missing out on Ipswich, Colchester etc ??   The current scheme was devised in consultaion with supporters and seems pretty fair without being overly-complex and expensive to administer. I don''t i''ll see many people whinging about not getting tickets for Charlton when we travel to Middlesboro, Burnley etc next season!
 8.
I phoned the Club this morning about this whole issue. They said they were very concerned and would do some research which probably just means they will get some bean counter in.
a sweetcorn counter might be more appropriate.out of interest who on here has ever taken a dump at football match?. in nearly 40 years of going to carrow rd i''ve never been tempted. there''s one cubicle in the barclay upper gents and people queue to use it. they''re either very shy or less fussy than i am! personally the thought of sharing the khazi after numerous football supporters keeps my sphincter unemployed.
 9.

Just keep redialling repeatedly and you''ll get in the queue quickly enough. I got through at 9:30 this morning, then queued for 15 mins. Well worth it. Should be a great night out and a brilliant atmosphere. Inflatables anyone?
inflatables are definately in order
must remember to empty mine first!

 12.
just as useful tip for those ever travelling to london on train in future, anglia day ranger plus ipswich to chelmsford day return and chelmsford to london day return always used to be cheaper than buying the saver return (now known as off peak return). I don''t work trains to london anymore (just norwich locals and cambridge now :) ) but have a look. this will only be the case for walk up fares not advance, and as matt says the train must stop at chelmsford!! but i told you nothing!!!
i always get witham to ipswich + anglia day ranger for Saturdays For me and my son using Freidns and Family the price is quite reasonable. To travel anywhere else on the train - which inevitably requires going in , across and out of London - is usually extortionate (and there''s always the risk of engineering works at weekends), so i invariably take the car. I would rather chill out on the train but its far too expensive.

Off topic but im just thinking it might be a good idea for the mods to force posters age to be included in the avatar/name as im sure there''s a lot of 10 yr olds etc that post on here and sometimes the replies they get can be very abusive, from im guessing 18 yr olds (or so called adults like Shyster) who dont know better and just resort to schoolground bullying/verbal responses. The adults on here, like myself at 33 are obviously not going to be on the same wave length as a 10yr old and will simply not ''get'' the young uns posts. So im suggesting an age notifier purely because some of the retorts to the younger posters, and we can guess when a post comes from a lad, are a bit harsh and kids are very impressionable and dont understand why us ''adults'' dont enjoy there contribution and just reply with verbal abuse. Its not a million miles away from internet bullying.
I think ''mental age'' would be more helpful. We could alternatively have a separate forum for Juniors and Retards.
can''t believe the software on this form replaced r e t a r d s with asterisks ! Some people are too sensitive.

 19.

CA, just for you I popped into the Club today to enquire. Hucks will be hosting a ladies only matchday experience. You begin in ''Yellows'' with cocktails before moving on to the home dressing room where you are bathed in warm milk by trainees. After drying off Hucks appears in a loin cloth, all oiled up and scented and gives you a full body massage whilst feeding you Belgian Chocolates and champagne. After this, he gives you a full manicure and pedicure using his own mouth, lips and teeth and you then watch the game from behind glass in your own executive box dressed in a long silk gown while Hucks serves you peeled grapes and canapes all washed down with a vintahe Pino Grigo. At the end of the game he sees you off from your own private exit which includes a lingering kiss goodbye....with tongues. Oh! You also get a free match programme and an ''I''ve Been Pampered By Hucks'' framed certificate and signed photograph. If you are a season ticket holder you get 15% off. If you are over 30 a further 10% on top plus a reduction of 10% for every decade thereafter. I have put your name down for the Leeds matchday experience and Mr. McNally will hod it for you until lunchtime tomorrow. Okay!?
Kathy is has put herself down on the waiting list for when Grant Holt hangs up his boots.
No takers for Gary Doherty too?!
 20.
Agreed. Johnny, johnny, Johnny Ostemobor....is Fcking sht, is fcking sht!!!!!!!!
he wasn''t even THAT good!
 21. worth bearingin mind when estimating chances of getting tickets for Orient and Bristol R where demand will almost certainly exceed supply.
 22. does anyone know how many there are group 1 (away season ticket holders) and 2 (st holders with 10 stubs)?
