1. Gazza,

exactly, i would rather lend my ticket to a well-behaved opposition supporter than give my ticket back to ncfc to sell on to someone i don''t know who could - like far too many - spend the whole game complaining and criticising players and being a pain in the **** to those around them.

and in anticipation of a possible response , i know i''ve crtical of certain players on this forum but at matches I''m all for giving each and everyone of them 100% support.

did ncfc in the past make members take out some ''worthiness'' test before they sold them tickets ? no.

did i see many ncfc supporters mingling with home fans at away matches last season? yes - watford and ipswich spring to mind.

i do sympathise with those who can''t get tickets but if i can''t get to a match I''ll give it to who i want. it will almost certainly be a ncfc supporter but its my ticket, that I bought, so I''ll decide.

  2. i doubt worthy or the players read this message board nor care for its contents.
any message board will solicit varied opinions and people will change their opinions too (and so does NW !).
opinion appears to be polarised on helveg vs edworthy,
holt vs safri, formations, transfers (or lack of!) etc but as long as the supporters keep solidarity and give 100% support to NW and his chosen XI on match days i don''t see any harm in any debate.

NW got us back into the Premier after 9 long years and I hope we stay there but after 8 games without a win its not surprising that there''s some restlessness. Listen to 606 after Liverpool have failed to win....we''ve got a long way to go yet....

  3.
The fact is that you don''t know the facts. The fact is that Brennan may not be the answer, but so desperate are you to chop and change, you are convinced he is.What makes you certain that he will be th...
Bananaman,

Do you not think McKenzie''s return was belated and that once the Newcastle honeymoon was over that it was apparent that Doherty wasn''t the answer?

As for Brennan, I''m not advocating that he replaces Drury or that he is an option for anywhere but left midfield where I personally think he can provide defensive support for Drury and attacking support for Hucks. Its not a call for chopping and changing - its a view I''ve held since the start of the season after reading pre-season match reports.
True, there may be an underlying reason for Brennan''s omission but he hasn''t even made it to the bench and its not unreasonable to ask why.

p.s. I have never agreed with the Holt bashers.

  4. Come on . it took NW 6 games and 45 mins of humiliation at Anfield before he finally gave in and put Mckenzie in the team. How many points will be adrift before he stops giving JB the cold shoulder too? Looks like he''ll get a season in the reserves and then we''ll give him away shocking though it is.The fact remains that we should stop making excuses for having a difficult start and recognise we should have beaten CP and Portsmouth.

  5. i didn''t hear them either. whilst i share your abhorrence I don''t think I would advocate a ban for anyone who shouts something which I object to. What next? Ban fans who swear in front of women and children and those who question the refs parentage or nocturnal activities.
Just ignore them. without the attention they might even think of something intelligent or relevant to shout.

p.s. didn''t the liverpool fans taunt man utd re Munich? Every crowd has them!

  6.
I disagree, worthy isn''t there to inspire confidence from the fans, he is there to do as well as he can with the resources he has. He''s not saying we''ll fall to another 3-0 loss, he is simply stating ...
"Doherty I personally think plays fairly decently upfront, he wins... everything in the air, he can hold up the ball and has some lovely layoff touches"

Which game were you watching ?!

  7. Oh Dear, oh dear....oh well, might as well be hung as a sheep as a lamb

Firstly, my comments were not intended to be personal (but they can be taken that way now if it suits). In hindsight I can see how they could be perceived as patronising or pompous but that wasn''t my intention at the time. My comments regarding not missing a minute was supposed to be a tongue-in-cheek reference to the fact that I noticed one of throng being taken aside for a chat at White Hart Lane while I continued to watch the game. Furthermore, to put into context, why I felt I my opinion regarding Bentley was ''equally'' (not better) qualified.

Ironically, the target of my quip was not TPC, unless he happened to wearing the shirt belonging to another with whom I have dared to differ in opinion.

Quite how this merited the vitriolic response from GTG is beyond me. However having seen her ''wade in'' with such eloquent prose on other threads, perhaps I shouldn''t be surprised. The relevance of your gender also perplexed me. I''d be more concerned about that chip on your shoulder, MATE.

As for DB, I doubt whether he''ll lose any sleep or be to traumatised by comments on this message board. I am not a boo-boy at matches and never have been. I wish him well. As far as I''m concerned, anyone can pass a ball into space or off the pitch. The pass that finds a team-mate would be more incisive to me.

Now I''ll get me coat and refarin from indulging this thread any further (regardless of any subsequent responses).

  8. Everyone will have their own opinion over what is the best XL and who at the club is underrated and who is over-rated.
Having not missed a minute yet this season - unlike someone a few rows in front of me who was taken out the back of White Hart Lane for a ''seeing to'' by a steward - I happen to agree with much of the original post and based on performances to date would not select Bentley. Obviously from the responses so far opinion is divided.
That doesn''t mean I would boo him at a match. Yes, he has made some some good moments and I would like to see more and frankly I don''t care if he''s a loanee or permanent as long as he contributes to the team getting enough points to stay in the premier league (and more...).
I don''t however think Mulryne is better than Bentley (except maybe at passing back).
For what its worth I think Brennan and Mckenzie should start instead of Bentley and Doherty.

  9. I thought after the Man Utd game that all Bentley had in common with Dennis Bergkamp was his propensity to pass to a red shirt As for the Newcastle goal I think Shay Given merits a key contribution to that one.Problem is that he''s expecting his colleagues to be on the same wavelength ashis Arsenal teammates and everyone to have the pace of Henry.Having said that, I think he''s a better option than McVeigh or Mulryne and I think he''s worth persevering with.
