Although for moral reasons I completely disagree with the banning of exports, are they not actually saving their citizens lives at the expense of other countries ?

You told us the EU manufacture very little vaccine and we manufacture shed loads, so why should it matter, or was it that you lied ?.

You really need to grow up and debate like an adult.  Abuse is all you know....

You do know that Germany are ahead of us in the world rankings you are fond of quoting.

So what makes them better than us?

Probably because there is no-one like you in Germany?

I don't think so but do you have a link ?

America banned exports to everybody as I keep telling you. All very predictable as as stated no country other than India in the rich nations give a stuff. The US have just done what the EU are proposing doing yet you support the US in their actions as they are doing it to the EU, yet slate the EU.
I would be very interested to know your views on this if we were a big manufacturer and not vaccinating quickly as a citizen would you be objecting to vaccine being exported.

By the way I don’t support either view as I think the whole world should work together and there is vaccine all over the world that may never be used.

The EU working with the rest of the world ?    🤣      Best joke I've heard today !!  🤗

Are you human? We have lost almost 126000. And thousands of those are our Governments fault.

But the human beings amongst us aren't rejoicing because ours failed its people as well.

Yes, their leaders are running around like blue areses. But they aren't deliberately doing it. Its incompetence not murder.

Our government are now saving hundreds if not thousands a day now due to their investment in vaccines last year.

Oh jolly good Paul. Lets hope thousands, even millions, die because their leaders have made a mess of it.

    Your revulsion is revolting.

They are dying and it is the EU's fault in the main.  Around 2,000 die every day in the EU due to covid and the EU puts a halt to vaccinations because of a few blood clots which have nothing to do with AZ.   They are culpable indeed...

Shouldn’t make any difference to us as Moy regularly tells us we produce more than enough for ourselves and the EU don’t produce any.

On a more serious note if they do stop this could create serious problems being a huge producer. They say ( I have no reason to suspect it’s not true ) they have exported 41 million doses, that’s around 10% of the total doses given so far around the world.

The EU are in a mess and deserve it.

Rubbish they vaccinated nearly 1.4 million yesterday why make things up ?.

Maybe but they would be doing more if they had the supply.  Coming from the EU I am also reluctant to believe their figures as they are not averse to outright lies.

All governments are to blame for the childish behaviour. As I pointed out at the beginning of January there was no need for the likes of you or Johnson to start goading the EU was that not aimed at causing unrest for EU governments ?. With America already then making a couple of attempts to derail the Oxford vaccine via Fauci, Trump and then Biden we just needed to get on with it without distractions.
Keeping it to the EU at the moment is good as the US and other countries that have done the same are not being publicised, the US have not even approved it.

The Oxford vaccine is very important to us India and Covax, far less important to others. It is important that all vaccines are given support. Because of several of your previous comments I suspect if this was Pfizer you would be cheering from the rooftops.

You really are showing your remoaner credentials yet again in failing to criticise the EU and in resorting to abuse of myself who like many others on here do not resort to abuse but try to give the sad facts on the ongoing EU disingenuousness.

I have never criticised the Pfizer jab but may well have reported on the early issue of allergic reactions. They overcame this by holding folks back for 15 minutes after taking the jab. There are issues with storage temperatures also but this is fact that gives AZ an advantage, not criticism of Pfizer.   I would have been quite happy to take that jab but assume that due to cost and logistics was not offered it.

Try taking in the message rather than abusing the messenger that is telling you the truth, which I thought you were starting to see at long last.

It seems better to anyone with sense that things should be checked before ploughing on regardless?? Even if it turns out to be a miniscule problem?

There is no sense in stopping this program that saves millions of people''s lives. It would be like closing down the whole motorway system in the world because of one accident.  The evil EU should stop playing politics with people's lives.

They don't have the vaccine supplies so are making excuses to slow down rollout to a trickle and then be able to blame it on AZ and the UK rather than suffering public wrath for their own failures in vaccine investment.

    This is so sad.
Unfortunately it’s not just the EU the US are not keen on it either. If the US would release the vaccine to us they are highly unlikely to use then we could be finished in 2 lots of 2 weeks 12 weeks apart.

The stories and goading come from all sides and is exactly what many predicted and should never have begun. Who knows where this will lead, luckily as you say the hatred between us and the EU has been racked up to such an extent that we will blame each other and it will have no effect on our uptake, however we will see.
I celebrate that many countries are well on track now with their roll outs. I hope this can continue,.

We are not making much fuss, but just observing what is obviously going on with the vaccines in particular.  Our politicians are being very quiet on this except for the reaction to the lies on an export embargo but most of the populous here and in the EU surely see what is going on. The EU cannot have the UK being seen to have any successes after Brexit. That is the truly sad thing but if the UK is a success then other countries see that there is no real reason for the EU edifice to exist.

    Expect more of this rubbish.

My opinion on this is that Germany, France, Italy are weaponizing the oxford vaccine for political gain due to Brexit and generally the success of the vaccination rollout in the UK.

The W.H.O have just this minute said it is safe to continue to use as there is no evidence to link to the claim of causing blood clots.

As I have been saying all along, ever since Macron started his lies on AZ.   Due to slow rollout the governments in the EU are creating propaganda for their gullible citizens so that AZ and UK get the blame for the delays and not them.  This is pure evil politicking by the EU but most reasonable people will see through it and they will pay the price in due course.

Surely the ideal solution would be to tell each recipient that there is a slight risk and get on with it. But continue with researching their worries.

I take a daily medication that has a list of side effects. However, the relief it is giving outweighs the risk of the side effects.

Of course.  All medications have some side-effects and that is why I only take vaccines if I myself deem that I actually really need it. Halting a vaccine that clearly helps the majority avoid death by covid on the basis of a few blood clots is ridiculous and imo politically motivated as it makes no sense whatsoever.

Yes your ignorance. They are following their guidelines. About 2 months ago you were saying that the slightest issue should be looked at in any of the vaccines. Why are you trying to make something of nothing ? They have said it is highly unlikely to be linked, but it is a particular batch that has had a few instances.

Even AZ said they rechecked their data what do you think they should do ? Just keep using and let the anti Vaxers run riot ? They are ensuring safety.

Stop scaremongering !!!   The deaths are statistically insignificant and countries are purely using this as a smokescreen for political reasons.

You are sounding like an anti-vaxxer..... 😂.... Hypocrite !!!

Strange how the same people with thought Dominic Cummings, quite rightly, should be sacked for disobeying lockdown rules, now want Cressida **** to be sacked/resign for not allowing people to break lockdown rules.

I have mentioned many times we are all hypocrites and this just proves it.

There is a missing logic there as usual..... 🤣

May only be a day but the initial bit is quite specific “ the decision to suspend AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine was based on new information from Norway that emerged last night “.
It goes on to say “ The NIAC meets this morning and we will provide an update after that “

Due to lockdowns many people  are much less active as they isolate. Sitting around all day with little movement could well bring on more thromboses, just as we can get DVT on an aircraft.  The answer is to exercise and drink more fluids. Older people are renowned for not drinking enough anyway so they will obviously be at more risk at this time.

This is pure scaremongering and ignorance imo.
