1.
Too true, but unfortunately we can''t afford 11 players on £12.5K a week... I think Hucks did actually respect Worthington, even though he may not have agreed with him. Sadly, many of his team mates didn''t feel this way. It will be interesting to watch Hucks under a new manager - It can go either way with him.
Based on statements that Hux has made in the not too distant past I think he is committed to the Club. He appreciates that the fans love him and he likes living in this area. He also shown on many occassions the level of professionalism that some of our other players have not. Taking all that into account I don''t see any reason for him not to stay whoever is the new manager.
2. Spot on LGT - he would be my first choice as well with possibly Micky Phelan as his assistant.
3. Why all this talk of losing at home? A totally inept performance resulting in a scoreless draw would do the trick, especially if the crowd let Delia and the Media know what they think of the present, ongoing, situation. Then, we follow that up with another trouncing away from home and that should be job done. If it isn''t, I am going back into hibernation for a few months. One final point, when talking last season about who to replace Worthington with, several posters including me, put up the name of George Burley as he was available at the time - take a look at what he has done with Southampton, we missed a BIG opportunity to appoint a class manager when Delia did not act at that time.  I truly hope we don''t miss the same opportunity when Alan Curbishley becomes available in the very near future.
4. Thanks for the kind words, Zipper.  I really don''t know if I want to become a regular poster again as I find the whole Worthington thing utterly depressing.  If there is another industry where the manager can produce such appalling results and not pay the price then I want to know about it so that I can work in it! Whilst Worthington continues to erode our club i just feel helpless.  I continue to be personal season ticket holder and we continue to support the club through the business but it doesn''t make me feel any better
5. I haven''t posted on these boards for months after I said,(last season), I wouldn''t until we got into the playoffs, which didn''t happen, or Worthington was sacked or he resigned, which didn''t happen. However, after the latest series of collapses I thought I would sign in and see what the atmosphere was. The sad thing is that we still have a majority of posters demanding that Worthington should go but nothing happens Now here we are, months on from last seasons abject performances, and the season before that, and still we get served up the same lack lustre performances.  In his latest quote Worthington says he will only put out those players who show the necessary passion. Who are they then?  Does he have players we don''t know about? What we have to work with are the ones who have capitulated over the last 4 matches plus a couple of youngsters. A horrible sense of deja vue - just like last season, and the season before. We have changed the coach and after the honeymoon period the squad just cannot perform under Worthington. We are all aware that this is the last season of parachute payments, if we do not gain promotion this year it is going to be very, very hard for us to compete. Worthington has shown that he is incapable of sustaining consistent success, indeed for well over 2 years he has only been capable of sustaining mediocrity. OUT!!
6. This is my last post until..... Either Worthington goes. or We get into the playoffs/auto promotion. I just can''t keep posting about my dissatisfaction and frustration at the ineptness of Worthington as a manager and see that the Club does nothing about it. If the "Worthington In" camp are correct he will turn things around and we will reach the playoffs - can''t see it myself much to my chagrin. Once again we had mystifying selections and formations coupled to a performance more akin to a surrender than a fight. Then we had Worthington''s completely ineffectual after match comments...so if every one is as strong as he is we will be alright...my arse!! So, one way or the other its "Au Revoir" from me.
7.
There once was a man from Ballymena Wanting to manage in the top arena He used Norwich as vision To meet his ambition But forgot to change his demeanour One Premiership season, and straight back down...
I object most vehemently to this post. I am not a Clown
8.
I would like to see more of Henderson and Jarvis.
I guess we all would...especially if it was in their "proper" position of central striker rather than makeshift wide right midfield.
9. I have no idea what enviroment you work in, Rocky, but apart from my first two years at work I have always worked in a results driven, team, enviroment. In every instance, if there has been prolonged failure then the manager paid the ultimate price ,whilst the team members invariably stayed in place. Indeed, as I got older and secured more senior positions, twice it was I who paid the price for not producing to expectation, whilst my then ex-team members stayed in place. Ultimately, a manager gets the team that they deserve, and that is why they have to take the overall responsibility and take overall accountability. They build the team that they want; they coach the team that they want; they set the standards that they want - if they fail, they go. Simple really.
10.
whatever he could have said, it would be turned against him
That''s what happens when you are not doing your job well and you are respnsible and accountable for a team''s performance, which Nigel is as the Team Manager.
11. "The fans picked up on that on Saturday. You can never fool them. They know their football, they can see things.”As quoted by Nigel in a recent "Pink Un" article. Yes, Nigel, we do know our football, and no, we won''t be fooled by the stuff you have been serving up over the last 50 or so matches - check out the "Pink Un" poll!!
12. In any major vote on any major subject an 80% 20% majority would be regarded as HUGE!! If this was a vote of confidence, which actually is, there would be no doubt about the outcome in another sphere such as politics or business.
13. Good post, Beverley, and welcome back. I don''t actually agree with much of what you say, but that isn''t a problem because there are a lot of people who don''t agree with much of what I say However, it is a pleasure to see aw ell reasoned arguement put forward from one of the Pro-Worthington people.
14. Yes, a very good post. I don''t actually agree with you but that does not detract from the points that you make
15. Amongst all the doom and gloom a star is beginning to shine. Our local Press has started to print critical articles regarding Worthington and have started to question his tenure. The Board won''t sack Worthington and he won''t resign, unless they feel that the majority of public opinion is against him. Whilst boards such as these are a vehicle for fans to express their disquiet, momentum will only grow once the Press decides to run stories putting pressure on Worthington and the Board. It seems to me that over the last few days this has begun to happen. First the poll in the Pink Un, and now some quite strong articles over the last few days. If we keep up the pressure through the boards, and the Press starts to increase pressure through it''s medium, then something WILL happen. The tide IS turning
16. Much as I think the world of Delia and Michael, I was disappointed with their message. Right now what the Club needs is decisive action, not prevarication It is fairly clear from their message that Worthington is going to be given more time - I just wonder at what point the majority shareholders will say enough is enough? In the past Deliah would sit amongst the fans -  I suggest she does just that for the next 4 or 5 matches, so that she can truly ggaugethe feelings of ddespairthat many, many fans - ppossiblethe majority - are now feeling.
17. I thought the first real crisis of his tenure was Fulham last year A team we needed to beat to ensure our survival in the Premier and we collapsed to a disgraceful 6-0 defeat. We only had to win one away match all season, and the Fulham match was the one, and he didn''t have the managerial expertise at the time that it mattered. Whether it was coaching skill; tactical skill; selection skill; formational skill or just plain motivational skill, the man came up woefully short - and those shortcomings were on show all of last season, and worringly they have been caried right throuigh into this season as well.
18. So, Delia and Michael have now come out with a "We must stick together" statement. That''s great for the "Worthy In" camp, but just a continuance of the frustration for thos ewho believe a change would be beneficial. Right now, there IS an available manager who could do a good job for us. In a few days that might not be the case and the opportunity will be gone. I truly believe that Worthington is not good enough to get us even into the play-offs this season, given a full squad or not, for all the reasons previously stated by many diferrent people. We are in for a long, long, frustrating and disappointing season
19. You know, I can''t remember too much acrimony when Bruce left...my memory seems to say that he was "sold" along with Watson, as most of our decent players were in those days?
20. Of course se could be relegated, but its highly unlikely. More likely is that we will stagnate in lower mid-table, lose our better players, lose a large proportion of our fanbase, struggle with our debt and face many, many years of mediocrity. On the other hand we could dump Worthington, appoint George Burley and still get into the playoffs
21.
i do not want Steve Bruce back at Norwich whatever happens...JUdas!
How is Bruce a Judas?
22. Dicky, after the sick feeling comes the one of sheer frustration and helplessness There is very little we can do as fans other than keep expressing our opnions. I wonder if the Pink Un will bring their poll to the attenton of the Board - over a 1,000 votes with 91% saying Worthington must go seems pretty conclusive to me. Let''s hope we can touch base with George Burley - there is till time this season if we vcan just get organised.
23. Its almost sad that DDM is now in the Worthington Out camp as it shows just how far we have slid Now, if the real Delia would only feel the same and get on the phone to George, all would be well
24. With over a 1,000 votes and 91% saying out maybe the Board will take notice? As for Ispwich Fans voting - surely they will only vote for Worthington to stay which makes the "no" vote even more convincing.
