1. Great interview but far too short. I look forward to hearing the follow up!
2. Sounds decent. Does this replace The Scrimmage which used to be on Thursday evenings?
3. Is there any way us real fans can put pressure on the club to get the ‘Snakepit 40’ banned for life? Perhaps a letter writing campaign to the board of directors or a Facebook page or online petition?   We need to make sure that these thugs are never allowed to ruin our matchday experience again.
4. Just heard the Hoolahan to Hull story on Radio 5 Live in their transfer day round-up. I guess this story has legs :-(
5. But still your team is managed by someone who "plays" with dogs. Nice...
6. "Funny that Keane isn''t linked with any of the vacant Prem jobs..."Maybe its to do with the fact that he''s a nut-job?
7. A Suffolkator taking the moral high ground on our financial situation – is that supposed to be irony?
8. Shame on you Jim Smith :-( This is NOT the poster I have grown to love through his mature and level-headed analysis of all things Norwich City. His "belated thoughts on match x" had become the highlight of my life (apart from World of Witchcraft), but his tone of language in this thread have led me to question my affection for him. YOU HAVE LET US ALL DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11111

10. Chaps, I wouldn''t be too quick to dismiss the Gingers Twins - they are for real (no joke). I once saw them mob up the Crown PH in Trunch (three miles north of North Walsham and two miles from the coast at Mundesley) and kick off BIG TIME. Lets just say it wasn''t pretty! You have been warned.
11.

It’s worth bearing in mind that since becoming our main sponsor, Aviva have:    - Signed up to a three year sponsorship deal worth a ‘seven figure sum’ in what looks like the start of a recession.    - Handed out 10k free scarves to home fans at the first home game of the season. Handed out 250 free food and drink vouchers at Carrow Road before the Charlton FA Cup game.    - Agreed to relinquish shirt sponsorship for one game in the process helping to raise over £20k for the Benjamin Foundation.    - Agreed to remove the Aviva logo for the 59ers shirt for the FA Cup.    - Plus all the other stuff they’ve taken an active role in like the Canaries for the Community, Ability Counts and Footy Finance initiatives.     Not earth shattering I admit, but I can’t imagine FlyBe or The Digital Phone Company did as much.
So how does that compare with the Strillions of pounds they have let Ipswich off ?
If you mean the reported writing off of £20 million owed by Ipswich Town to Aviva, then it doesn''t compare. The decision by Morely Fund Management (part of Aviva) to invest in a football club (especially Ipswich) was a kick in the teeth for us Norwich fans. But this thread was about whether Aviva are a good sponsor, which I think they have been to date, in terms of the stuff they have instigated and I listed in my previous post.

13.
got to be Nelsons Journey!
I agree, Nelsons Journry - great name, great charity! :)
14. Bump! :-)You only have until tomorrow (Wednesday 24th September) 5pm to get your nominatons in...http://new.edp24.co.uk/content/Competitions/2008/WinNCFC/default.aspx
15. Bump!Only 2 days to go to get your nomintions in...http://new.edp24.co.uk/content/Competitions/2008/WinNCFC/default.aspx
16. I''ll be putting Nelsons Journey forward (http://www.nelsonsjourney.org.uk/). These guys do an amazing job and I know that getting the shirt sponsorship would mean a lot to them.
17.
well i for one will be getting as many tokens as possible if the air Ambulance is involved! jas :)
Looks like you''ll need to too nominate the EA Air Ambulance first (using the email address in Pete''s post) to ensure that they are considered for the short list. The final voting, from the shortlist of 5, is where the tokens come in... I think!
18. Hi Pete - do you know if the shirts will be on sale in the club shop before/after the game? I''d imagine there''d be pretty collectable if this is a one-off.
19.
That''s exactly why it''s the Donny game, because it''s not a high profile one.
That’s a little bit cynical Matt! ;)   As I said, I think it’s a good idea and I’m sure no one at the club or NU (sorry Aviva!) would intentionally pick a less attractive game to give the shirts over to a charity. Why would they? The bigger the game, the bigger the exposure for the charity and in a subtle way, Aviva.   Interesting to see which local group gets put on the shirts (Samaritans might be good choice after Wednesday night performance!)
20. When I saw the headline in this morning’s EDP I thought Aviva had done a XL and the club were flogging the sponsorship to the highest bidder!   “Aviva and Eastern Daily Press have joined forces to provide one charity an exclusive opportunity to raise their profile and generate funds for the good work they do! Aviva, proud sponsors of Norwich City Football Club, have taken an unprecedented step and agreed to relinquish their prominent branding on the first team’s shirts for one match - the Norwich City v Doncaster Rovers game which will take place at Carrow Road on the 25 October 2008.” Pretty good idea, not sure if the Donny game will give a charity much exposure, but there you go … I guess it’s a bit like the Aston Villa deal this season but done for the right reasons (as opposed to a response to the flak they got for promoting a gambling website last season!)
21. Wow, what a speech from The MITS! That should be handed out and made compulsory reading for every Norwich player pre-game. Norfolk Expects…
22.
Hello all I must admit I am a serial lurker more than a poster - I do have very close links with Southend though as well as my love of Norwich - I can also confirm I am not drinks!! I have spoken wit...
It seems your Southend contact slightly contradicts what I’ve been told re: nothing formal being agreed. It has been confirmed to me that a fee (£400k) has been agreed between the clubs and that Freddy is considering the offer. West Ham have also expressed an interest, but have not made a offer (to date).   However, Worthington and Doncaster are on holiday (together?) for the next couple of weeks, so it looks doubtful it will be wrapped up before their return. My “Freddy Eastwood SIGNS” declaration does now seem slightly premature, but it does sounds like ‘when’ not ‘if’.   I have to agree with the other posters that another striker isn’t our no. 1 priority, but it does make sense if Sven is going.   As I hear more, I’ll let you know.
23.
Thoughts ?, yeh , thought we had a sticky for transfer speculation type posts.
I would have put it in the ''speculation thread'' if it was speculation, rather than fact. BTW 400k is the agreeded fee, if you''re interested.
24. Not yet, but it’s looking extremely likely. I’ve heard from a number of usually reliable sources that a deal for Eastwood is on the table and its now up to the player and his agent to sort out personal terms.   If all goes well he’ll be a Norwich player by this time next week! Sounds like a good replacement for Svenny and / or Leon if they leave…   Thoughts?
25.
He shouldn''t be allowed anyway near the club after his behaviour over his contract. Like Marshall he knew that if he wished to leave the club we were due a transfer fee. If, as Marshall did, he re...
I actually think the reason Kents wanted to leave was less to do with money (did Southampton pay him that much more than us?) and more to do with the way he was treated my worthy. IIRC didn''t have a great run of form as CB when Malky or Flem was injured, then was dropped as soon as they regained fitness? I think he got pissed at that and his relationship with Worthy went down hill from there. Shame. Could have been a real city great.
