Too bad we didnt go for Biglia. Looked class against Udinese and would created good pairing with Fer and supposedly moved on quite low fee of 5,5 million euros. And I''m I missing something, but if we are talking the O''Hara who plays for Wolves he is quite clearly no better what we have already. Or at least I can''t think him any better than what we have in Howson. I would even prefer someone like Skjelbred over him as he was rumoured for us in previous windows. Or mayby Albin Ekdal could come to increase our swedish force.
Biglia would have  been a useful signing....we need someone to lead the team.

Why the doom and gloom after just two matches?

So come on - b***y well cheer up!

At least we are not supporting the Binners!  OTBC!

Why the doom and gloom after just two matches?
He wants the midfield have the ability to take the ball on and distribute it well towards the other end of the pitch.   But that is at the heart of our problems  - the midfield haven''t cracked it yet.    Not enough quality play there and Hughton and we all know it.   That''s why  we have Redmond and Fer and hopefully at least one more coming in to boost the team in that area.

Good point - well said. OTBC!

Jamie O''Hara anyone? Could he do the job as we are obviously missing someone to play alongside Fer.

If Howson is to play it must be further forward.

Too prudent no ambition ...on the pitch
Indeed, and that pattern that''s emerging has been going on since xmas, its why a majority of self appointed experts in the media have tipped us for relegation. Whats concerning many Fans now is that after bringing in some expensive players nothing appears to have changed, the center forward is still isolated and feeding on scraps, the midfield is flat, cant pass a cold and uncreative and the tempo slower than the village idiot at the pub quiz
Well said.

This nothing to play for/on the beach/donating points argument doesn''t stand much scrutiny. If you take that view then we were certainly on the beach with nothing to play for and in a position to donate at Manchester City in May.

In fact the truth is at no time is there nothing to play for. No club would want to spend millions on players who had no pride. And despite pride each place is now worth so much money clubs can''t afford to have players on the beach watching millions of pounds slip through their fingers.

Carry on making it up guys! It''s entertaining and only you know your own motives.

Ah, but then nutty you didn''t see the WBA game, did you?! I said at the time that was the most lackadaisical performance I have seen from an away team at Carrow Road in the top flight EVER!!! WBA were not on the beach. They had done that, been in the bar for pre-meal cocktails, stuffed themselve silly at the all-you-can-eat buffet and then spent the night clubbing.
Yes it was a hell of a party Purple. WBA''s party season had been going on months hence their return of just 1 win in their last 9 games. During this holiday they also donated points to Stoke, Newcastle, Southampton and Wigan[H]
Good to see that you finally agree that they were donating points at the end of last season.

I would like to thank WBA and Manchester City for donating us six points at the end of last season.

    Carry on!

Great time to be a City supporter and must admit to having a little peak on TWTD, now even some of the more intelligent Ippo suppoerters are coming round to what a great set up and team we have this season. Funny that in five seasons we have moved so far away from them that you nearly feel sorry for the poor little club south of our mighty City.
Poor Binners, mind you they do play at Poorman Rd. Lol!
The difference from last year is very clear to see.......same tactics will work as we have a far better standard of player and add pace to that and Hughton''s tatics won''t be looked on as negative.

Everton are a very good side for the time being, come September they might just be far worse given that Fellini & Baines might not be there, but top 10 side easy.

With Bassong back, Snodders on the right, Fer in the middle and potentially Hooper playing off of RVW in the link up role the side looks very strong. I mean we are talking about who you drop after a very good start!

This is the best squad we have ever had, pace, guile, option on the bench to change the style and two strikers who are natural goal scorers and proven at high level (Champions League).

4-2-2-1-1 style that Hughtons playes (4 defenders, 2 holding players, 2 wingers, 1 link up player and 1 attacker in my view) is a style a lot of premiership teams play, Man United, Arsenal to name a couple and they score bags of goals.

This will be a good season and another we will build on.
Well said Indy.

    Kyle McFadden and others

As well as the three lads who got called up for the England U19 squad, Kyle McFadden (who plays as a centre back) has played twice for the Republic of Ireland U19s during the last week. He captained the side in the second match against Norway U19.

We also have other young players who have played for their international teams: Jacob Murphy (England U19), Cameron McGeehan (Northern Ireland U19s) and Adel Gafaiti (Algeria U20). In addition we have players such as Jamar Loza and Reece Hall Johnson amongst others.
