Don''t forget they are skint (just look at the state of Goodison) until they sell Baines or Fellaini I doubt they coud even compete with us.
Good point. -

Hughes needs at least another couple of years in The Championship while he gets stronger. Rochina of Blackburn looked lively until he got injured. -

While we are posting about Coventry''s ground, I see Leeds United are trying to buy back their ground: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/23532611 -
Are they definitely going under? Or is it just brinkmanship?
The new owners of the football club want to move to Northampton while they build a new ground (according to the BBC website). ACL have offered them new rental rates over a period of 10 years. -
......... Just goes to show there is probably a little bit more money in the pot yet.
Hopefully we can land at least another striker shortly and then do some late shopping on one or two more. -

Disappointing but I remain bitter about 1985 so cant fret too much...
Coventry were blameless. What were they meant to do - lose games deliberately? The fault lay with ourselves and the football authorities, and Everton to an extent.
I blame the football authorities for allowing Coventry to accumulate four league games in hand on us. -

I believe the local council is the owner of Arena Coventry Ltd (ACL.) and that is the company that has rejected the CVA. So I wonder if the Coventry fans will be voicing their opinions to their local councillors? I thought ACL. had made an offer re the rent of £150k per season if Coventry are a division 1 club and £400k per season if they are in The Championship. Presumably the problem is the rent still owing from the past. -
Toby Alderweireld update...
Tangible Fixed Assets anyone? replied to FramCanary's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I suspect that we have not heard the last of this one. Ajax captain in interview says he expects Toby to move before next season. The only offer on the table at the moment is ours though Liverpool are linked. Betting odds for what they are worth are Liverpool 11/4 and us 6/4 so someone out there thinks this has still got legs
Furthermore Liverpool are being reported as offering £22m for a Brazilian striker and are after a left back. So unless they sell Suarez (which they continue to refuse to do) are they going to have enough money to buy another CB. given their level of debt? Thus I agree with those who think a transfer may happen near the end of the transfer window. -
The EPL site has an interesting analysis of the Quagliarella situation: http://www.eplindex.com/36190/norwich-fabio-quagliarella-good-move.html? I think he would add another valuable option up front.
I agree. -

Congrats on signing Hooper
Tangible Fixed Assets anyone? replied to IrishCelt67's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
..... If you want an example of where he [McNally] has really earned his money summer I would suggest it is not the Hooper deal but persuading Leroy Fer to come to Carrow Road, and for less than £5m. That looks more like genius to me.
Signing Fer was a good bit of business. However I was under the impression that the basic fee was £4.2m and there is £2.5m of add ons. -
Congrats on signing Hooper
Tangible Fixed Assets anyone? replied to IrishCelt67's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
But if you want to argue that he actually might have, then I would throw Bethnal''s argument at you, which is that we were playing for time until the price dropped but suddenly realised Hooper might choose QPR and so were forced to bid earlier - and higher - than we had hoped to.
I think thats a reasonable argument. -
