  1. I really like Sainz. He works really hard and is always wanting the ball. Tricky too. Good to get a home win even if a bit boring at times.
  2. Gracious! 70 years ago. I can remember as if it was yesterday. My dad gave me newspaper to stand on as it was so cold. Oxford made one save and fell on his head and we thought he’d broken his neck.
  3. Yes, I saw them all play. Tommy Johnston scored in away win at Arsenal in Cup around 1956 in the snow. My first ever away game. Ken Oxford was the hero and Bobby Brennan sent off. Johnston is a legend at Orient and I believe a stand named after him. Lots of photos of him in their social club. I remember seeing him on Foundry Bridge cycling to Carrow Road in a gabardine mac - fashionable then!
  4. I know you don’t like me, but no need to be so sarcastic.
  5. Played for Luton today I see. Almost punched goal into own net apparently!
  6. Great report as always. A rather forgettable game but a win is a win. Sainz my MOM. Actually reminded me of Wes at one point.
  7. You’d think with all those corners and all the big players we have now, someone could’ve headed one in.
  8. Usual good summary. Thanks. When Hernandez at that “shot” in the first half we had two players waiting in the box for a pull back. Gunn had virtually nothing to do but made a hash of the two punches out he did need to do.
  9. Notice Aarons not playing for Bournemouth now. Is he injured? Hardly ever injured in all his time here.
  10. Heard Sainz parents were there today so should have encouraged him.
  11. As has been proved at other Clubs, eg Reading, be careful what you wish for. As has been said, things are moving regarding the take over so need to become so spiteful and hurtful. Just think what the national media would think of Norwich fans and what such a demonstration would do to our reputation.
  12. The rise in minimum wage will affect certain areas of the staff employed on match days so increase costs overall.
  13. Hindsight is a wonderful thing. If we had given him another contract everyone would have complained that he is a “sick note”
  14. Exquisite pass to set up Finland’s fourth. Don’t think they can qualify for Euros now though.
  15. Article in the i newspaper today about Leeds with quotes from Sam Byram, who now seems to be injury free. Could hardly bear to read it!!
  16. Yes it really was a morgue and everyone too accepting of another poor performance to even boo. What annoyed me was their third goal. All our players up for a corner leaving no one back, as Aarons always did, they break away and score. The same thing happened in a previous home match when we had a corner.
  17. Agree. So many recent exciting seasons that fans feel entitled and don’t know what lean years are like.
  18. Sara included. Farke, not surprisingly, Manager and Ruddy GK.
  19. I know he played in the Manchester United team when we beat them in the snow in the 58/59 Cup run but I’ve a feeling he also played at Carrow Road for an Army XI. Those were the days when even footballers had to do National Service.
  20. It was on the cards as soon as Leeds scored. Terrible free kick that allowed them to break away for the winner. Too many unnecessary substitutions who added nothing.
  21. Is second left on front row Ron Davies? Bit like him. Also one next to McCrohan does look like Whitehouse although I thought he was taller.
  22. Still scoring goals. Wish we’d kept him. Good character. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.
