  1. For anyone who hasn't seen it it's worth watching this from his last match for Giresunspor. Most will probably know that we'd already been reported as signing him if they were relegated, which they were of course despite winning... From about 3 minutes 40
  2. It was and ten Hags comments - that Newport basically didn't have a kick but scored 2 goals out of nowhere - were just weird. For a long spell, and even after the 2nd goal, they were arguably the better team and caused the most problems. Unconnected but another point Newport do deserve credit with is, when realising that the structure and ownership model needed changing, how quick the Trust voted, and again to decide which offer to accept, and then put it all into action. The only lengthy delay being caused by the FA. Of course it's a shame they couldn't somehow make the wholly fan ownership model work somehow. And yes I am bringing that point up in view of Norwich's wish to seemingly drag anything on for as long as possible (even Webber and Knapper initially).
  3. Yes. When we equalised I did have a glimmer of hope that my for once unenthusiastic approach, and feelings we wouldn't even make a game of it, had been wrong. Losing by 3 goals away to the team that may win the Premiership is no embarrassment though obviously, so onwards and upwards - hopefully - to the playoffs. As we all know, that's what matters the most. And like the other person just posted alluded to, the 3 goal difference did flatter us really. Personally I'm not that bothered, yes I always want us to win but we've got far more important things to concern ourselves with. I was worried we'd be well and truly embarrassed live on mainstream TV, but fortunately we avoided that. And that really could have had a negative effect on the squad.
  4. I did almost post before the game that Newport would put up more of a fight and were more likely to win than we were. But chose not to post such a negative comment. But that's the point - I'm always optimistic of getting a result - always! But for some reason it was obvious we weren't going to trouble Liverpool at all.
  5. Don't forget it seems Rowe should be +1 if recent reports are correct.
  6. Do you know if this is shown live anywhere? Recently U21 and U18 games have been shown live but not through us, and didn't know about either.
  7. Definitely and he doesn't lack effort when we havnt got the ball. I've wondered whether he'd make it as a striker actually, but if Wagner and co saw it as a possibility, our situation as it's been would have been the obvious time to have tried , so probably not. And I'm not saying he should been tried there either, and shifting players around especially when they haven't long broken through could bring more harm than good / if it's not broke don't fix it etcetc. Just on the face of it, the way he plays seems more suited to it than most wingers, and we know about his finishing of course.
  8. No but wouldn't wouldn't agree with all inclusion campaigns that are theoretically possible obviously. Footballers aren't really "asked" to do so though are they, more like forced to do so (but that a small minority still won't follow for different reasons). I merely pointed out that, at least in the BLM case, there's at least one example of a player which it's supposed to "represent" (better wording?) who feels strongly enough that he refuses to do it. Of course he might be the only one, or there may be others who feel the same as him, but who just go along with it.
  9. Ishmael Yakubu, a lower league Nigerian player refused to do it too. And he wouldn't do it because he said all lives matter not just black lives. The person who posted that a lot of gay people wouldn't like being lumped together with people with very different sexualities or gender identities or whatever, is probably right. I've never really thought about it before but wouldn't be surprised if a lot of people that both campaigns were supposed to represent, actually find it all quite offensive.
  10. And their keeper did it again right on 90 minutes and for 30 seconds, which wasn't added on of course. At the end they'd had a couple of clear chances and should have scored the one of them, so it's probably just as well. (Off topic I know, but that Gibbs miss... Bloody hell)
  11. Lucky ones at that, one at home to a team likely to be relegated. And more strange subs. Sainz and Nunes is worth a try though, shame it wasn't 15 minutes ago.
  12. No one has written him off, he's just not good enough for the first team yet and it's shown. He wasnt deemed good enough last season in League 1 and has featured as many times, or more, this season for us already. And we're not even half way through yet. Wingers is one area, the only area, where we have plenty of options so the persistence with him has been odd.
  13. Duffy must be the worst defender in the league this season so far. Regardless of the Gibson injury Duffy should have been dropped too. It's got to be Batth and Warner from now on surely (half time even?) until Hanley is ready.
  14. It seems that way but yet another decision that seems to have gone terribly wrong.
  15. That must be the most successful Saturday for us in a while.
