  1. Banaman, you obviosuly wernt at the Sheff. Utd game a few years back where we were 2-0 down in the first 20mins, and then came back to win 4-2, Mullers scored 2 that day and dicated the play, you also obviosuly wernt at the Milwall home game last season, Walsall away and Stoke away either last season. A thing that really annoys me is all this sideways rubbish, when you think back to the teams he has been in, who have we had making runs of the ball for him to pick out? because it wasnt Holt, it certainly wasnt Rivers, it wasnt McVeigh because he likes to come inside and it wasnt Roberts, Abbey, Neilson or Libbra. Also think of the type of football we played in those times, for instance the play off season, we played so so deap, the only options he had when he looked up was Iwan standing 30 yards away surrounded by defenders, and Nielson who had a touch that resembled a man made of rubber, so what would you do, hit long balls hoping Roberts and Nielson would do the business with 2 against 4 or keep ball? Also most of you are calling Mulryne lazy, well most of last season he was injured or was on the bench, and previous campaignes he has also picked up injuries where he was out for months, that was because he was unfit and lazy i hear you say, well does the fact Eadie was injured alot make him lazy? We all knew Iwan was partial to the odd bacon buttie or 3 but he was never branded lazy or fat. Well only at first lol. The only time we have ever had any players who would make off the ball runs was last season when Hucks and/or Leon were in the team, when Mullers hardly ever played, or if he did, played out of position on the right. To conclude i dont think its fair to write off a player who in all honesty hasnt had a great deal of footall in in over a year now, and imo has very good potential.
  2. PS Setana sports is on sky, but u need to subscribe, they may however do a pay as u view thing like prem plus.
  3. for the sake of a £ why not give it a go - but yeah they are genuine they give u a link to a game and the links sumthin like livefootballingstreams or sumthin to that effect
  4. I also went to the reserve game yesterday, i thought mckenzie was lively and looked sharp, svennson i thought was way below par, he worked reasonably hard, but he 1, only 1 ball in the air all night and failed to hold the ball up and tended to be 1 touch that resulted in the loss of the ball. I thought ollie Willis who played right back last night played well, he caught my eye most out of the players that we havnt yet seen in the 1st team, shacks was superb, but sorry i have to disagree with pete, our number 4, nicky howlett, he was awful, he looked very lumbersum and took to long with his ball distribution, id be very surprised if he made it at City, Jimmy B also had a good game, he got foward well and had a couple of good runs and crosses, Hendo was lively, still not got the confidence to take on that last defender, danny crowe also looked quality last might, took on defenders good ball control and a good shot on him. All in all it was a solid performance last night, i dont remember pompey having a shot on goal in the second half, and it was a good experience as this was the 1st reserve game ive been to, and the 1st time ive sat in the new stand which i was very impressed with.
  5. hmmm it was Fleming who marked Beatie, Hasselbaink and Rooney in those games you mention, Malky done a grate job for us, but a football club evolves, and it Worthy judges Malky to not be good enough, because remember he seems him every day we dont, then ill stick with what Worthy goes by, we also have plenty of cover at center half so that is also no problem, Doherty, Shackle, Drury, Helveg, Holt, Edworthy, hmmm
  6. Just wondered if anyone else is gona take the flags most of us had towards the end of the season on Saturday. Hope its an awsome atmosphere because my uncle is leanding his season ticket to my pen pal from Canada who is seeing her first live footy match on Saturday, and im always raving about how good the atmosphere is to her so i hope we dont disapoint!
  7. Firstly i thought it was an excellent workout for the lads in really hot conditions. The new pitch looks superb aswell. Bentley for me today was pure class, bags of skill and ability another masterstroke from Worthy, the only fault i can find with him was maybe he is a little to lightweight, however body strength will come with age and experience, we have a quality player there. Heleveg, also class, didnt do anything outstanding but everything he did do, he did very well and barely broke a sweat, Charlton, well seems like Fleming mark 2 really, his positional sence and orginisation skills at the back are superb, for the money a complete bargin, but i am still slightly concerned by the lack of height at the back, hopefully to be put right in the coming weeks. Drury was Drury really nuff said. Ward, didnt really have much to do apart from pick the ball out of the net, dont think you can really blame him, you''ve got to give credit to the Mallorca lad for taking the free kick quickly. Francis today was also superb, if he continues in that form he is easily Prem class, Holt, for all his running, against a technically very good team seemed to be lacking, but until ive seen Safri for myself i dont think it would be fair to say Holty should be dropped. Mcveigh was buzzing around and reasonably lively, had a couple of decent chances in the 1st half with a volley and header, i think if he was a few inches taller he wouldve burried that one, Svensson, lots of hardwork nothing more, i would persoanlly say we need another big target man who doesnt treat the ball like a hot potatoe. Hucks gave us more of a cutting edge when he came on and still looked resonably fit, and perhaps the surprise of the day was that Jarvis started ahead of McKenzie, but maybe McKenzie had a knock i dont no. All in all a good performance against a technically very good team, and i think with Jonson to come into the team, another Center half with a bit of pace and height, and a striker who can hold the ball up, weve got a great shout of staying up.
  8. well maybe - like any good player - he has confidence in his own ability and genuinly believes he can take the shirt of Greeno, who wants to sign a player thats content to sit on the bench, you want players with ambition who want a challenge and confidence. And anyway, with Norwich having such a reputation for producing top quality keepers, as well as the Norfolk area - who wouldnt wanna move here, especially when he can learn of, in my opinion, the best English keeper.
  9. this is all a little to familiar from when we signed mckenzie, everyone saying he would be useless, unproven waste of money blah blah, give the guy a chance! from what i remeber of seing him play a couple of times he is a mix of holt and mulryne, good passer of the ball and vision but will also get stuck in and is more physicall than mullers, good addition in my opinion
  10. no offence to scotland but there not exaclty blessed with grate players are they, whens the last time they won a game of any relivence?
  11. Yes but i think what people are getting at, at replacing Malky, is that you can maybe get away with having one centre half without pace but two, i dont think so. We need to have at least one centre half with pace next season to partner either malky or flem, and i think flem is the better centre half out of the two so although malky is a legend, he just simply isn''y good enough for the Premiership if you watch the game closley, and being a defender myself Fleming covers malkys ass a hell of a lot and malky does get away with alot of things but in the premiership he would be punished alot.
  12. Koumas is on a free at the end of the season so there wouldn''t be a transfer fee involved
  13. Wenger said today pPennant has a future at Hibury next year if he accepts he has to fight for his place. shame.
  14. i really dont no whats gonna happen to iwan at the end of the season, but i have a sneaky feeling he wont be kept on im affraid
  15. 100% sure trust me thats there or there abouts what they are earning cant reveal my sources but hey if you wanna do some maths, the clubs wage bill is around 5.5 mill a year without hucks now take all the senior players excluding you''re hendersons and jarvis because they are not on senior wages yet and then work out the average wage
  16. well for a start you''re 5grand a week ceeling has already been broken by more players than hucks; hucks 14 grand a week upto 22 grand when promoted Roberts 8 grand a week Mulryne 8 grand a week Brennan 6 grand a week Svensson 7 grand a week Mcveigh 6 grand a week to name but a few and also, nodoubt the contracts have wage rises in them based on promotion, and rightly so. 5 grand a week would get us nowhere, i would say a wage celing of 20 grand a week would be more relistic, just dont go overboard on the spending front.
  17. Just wanna add a bit of food for thought to all those people slaging off the River End etc. I thought last night was prob one of the best all round atmosphere ive seen at the club for the 9years ive been going regulary. But people keep slagging off the River End sayin its a morgue stand blah blah but what you''ve got to think about is that, its more of a family stand where parents bring there young kids or the older supporters sit, so i dont think the 2 old grandads behind me the irish guy with two kids aged between 5-11 and the family in front with kids aged between 5-12 would appreciate me standing up calling the referee a fucking wanker or standing up throught the game sining all the time (as much as i want to). You may say well thats what footballs all about if there gona come to a game and not support the team blah blah, well i dont go allong with that simply because they are supporting the team because they have spent the wages on tickets replica shirts food drinks and various other merchandise at the ground, its just that because of the sort of people the river end attracts, they arnt so inclined to stand up singing all the time, i mean they''ve all payed for the seats so there entitled 2do as they wish and lets face it if you had a couple kids or you were in you''re hayday and you couldnt stand for that long you wouldnt appreciate people standing up and singing all the time. I AM IN NO WAY SAYING WE SHOULDNT BE VOCALLY SUPPORTIVE OF THE TEAM because its a massive plus to have, just i think some people need to be more open minded before slagging of the River End otbc! rant over let my slating begin...
