  1. Points difference between the two sides showing today. Gulf in quality....
  2. This sums it up for me. Those expecting any significant improvement from any January ins/outs are going to be bitterly disappointed.
  3. Like Captain Pants, never really paid too much attention to ownership issues and have always been more focussed on matters on the pitch. But.... After watching that, it's hard not to cringe. Delia clearly completely oblivious to the damage she causes with her choice of language (whingers) and how inappropriate (and alienating) it is to compare our supporters to Portsmouth. A horrible lack of self-awareness (age? alcohol?) Attanasio however comes across quite well. He hid his mild embarrassment every time Delia spoke quite well and strikes me that he's just tolerating Delia and MWJ until they finally walk away. Time will tell.
  4. Idah will never be the 15-20 goal a season striker we need. And he's not good enough with his off the ball work or assists to justify his lengthy contract. Sincerely hope he proves me wrong. Can't see it though.
  5. I actually quite like Gibbs. He's more of a box to box player than a CDM but he's also the most suited to the role out of all of the square pegs in the squad. I'd start him.
  6. Indeed. The mistake we make is that we think we are world beaters every time!
  7. What a bizarre thread, reduced to the usual 'them' and 'us' cr*p. England/Scotland "banter" aside, I have to say DK has a point about England being the biggest underachievers ever. We tend to believe our own hype time and time again and always seem to end up being not quite good enough. One trophy in our entire history isn't really something to get too excited by. For me anyway.
  8. Captain - you've turned into Mr Angry in recent days and weeks! Has made me chuckle 🙂
  9. Wagner aside, the squad is simply not good enough. In decline for a number of seasons now and consistently poor recruitment. The defensive midfielder debacle is embarrassing, baffling and infuriating. Don't envy whoever comes in after Wagner because they'll struggle to do much better with what we have currently.
  10. Bored of the continuing Idah-excusers. "He needs a run of games" or "he needs more confidence". What else? The manager didn't call him a good boy before the game and pat him on the head? He's not good enough to be a regular starter at Champs level and I see no evidence that, even if he did, he'd be anything thing more than a 10 goals a season striker. The fact that we're relying on him to lead the line (albeit through injuries) speaks volumes about where we are currently.
  11. Went to school with Mr Mills. Started off alright but slowly became more and more arrogant as we progressed through high school. Ended up being disliked by the majority of the year group. No humility.
  12. Surely the England manager would be aiming a little higher than the Champs?? Bizarre odds.
  13. Buh - Yarmouth is certainly not a sleepy coastal town! Any remaining Victorian charm has been eroded over the past 20-30 years and, unless you're happy with arcades, betting shops or horrible pubs, I'd steer well clear. I live closer to GY than Norwich but always happy to travel the extra distance.
  14. Lovely 0500 walk this morning (I'm sure the dog is waking up earlier and earlier). Down the usual track close to a wooded area near one of the broads. Ever-present deer skipping around, rabbits everywhere and a beautiful barn owl sailing silently over my head. As we continue the dog suddenly goes mental and dives into the long grass. GROUSE! Bloody grouse everywhere! As I spy a roofed feeder newly-placed at the edge of the woods, my uncertainty over whether this is private or public land evaporates and I realise I've probably been trespassing for my half-hour morning walks for the last six months! Grouse clearly been bred and now released for shooting season. Better watch out for shotguns and leave the giant feathered birdsuit at home for awhile. Anyone do the beating/shooting thing out of interest? Not my thing to be honest although the dog was in her element flushing them out of the long grass for a few moments!
  15. I think it far more appropriate to move the Women's final to accommodate the City match.
  16. I won't get involved in the hypothetical should we/shouldn't we argument about Greenwood but fair play for posting your stance on it. Rest of your post makes some excellent, relevant points.
  17. An interesting topic. The police often get a battering about conviction rates but the reality is, unlike lots of other criminal offences, there are usually only two immediate witnesses to the alleged offence (victim and suspect) so no-one else really knows what happened. Add the requirement to prove the offence in court to "beyond all reasonable doubt" makes the allegation extremely difficult to prove. Add in the "she was gagging for it" or "no smoke without fire" brigades and the water is further muddied. Either way, think it's safe to say Mr Greenwood's playing options will extremely limited.
  18. Well haven't I just made a very public **** of myself!!!! Heard on the radio the score was 1:0 to Man City deep into injury time, assumed they held on to win. My only defence is it confirms my lack of interest in the game!!!!
  19. Watched the charity shield game but turned it off after half an hour, bored. Same old script, Man City just with that bit extra to get past their closest rivals. Same for the season ahead no doubt. Can anyone see past them winning it....again? Arsenal and Man Utd to be closest challengers I reckon but just seems like Man City will walk it again. Unfortunately can't see another team "doing a Leicester" any time soon. Money talks. All a bit predictable and can't get very excited about this year at all. Anyone else remotely interested?! God I sound miserable!
