    I’m relatively confident we have the better player with a higher ceiling. That being said, if we go down his ceiling is irrelevant. The other factor is the fact Brentford got Ajer early and he has already helped them secure some points which works in their favour. Overall too close to call just yet.

    Completely agree - love Gibson and Hanley but watching Gibson getting left in the dust by Periera at the weekend shows we need a bit more dynamism.

    Felt sorry for him (and Klose) - not sure making them train on their own was the right thing to do, both for the players but also the rest of the first team. Both always gave their all on the pitch and appeared to be good for dressing room morale. Obviously always the possibility something happened behind the scenes we were unaware of but regardless, wish him the best for the rest of his career

    I do think he can perform at prem level but thrives on running onto through balls. Without Buendia and seemingly Dowell slipping down the pecking order, Sargent seems to fit a 433 better. If we get a strong DM and play them in a pivot and a proper number 10, can see Pukki being useful again.

    My worry with a double pivot of Gilmour & Lees-Melou is LM is likely to push forward a lot and Gilmour isn't strong enough defensively. I think given our interest in the likes of Billings & Lees-Melou, we aren't going for an out-and-out DM a la Skipp but instead will be playing a midfield 3 to share defensive responsibilities. My guess: 4-3-2-1 Krul; Aarons, Omabamidele, Gibson, Gianoullis; Lees-Melou, Gilmour, Rupp; Cantwell, Dowell; Idah
