  1. White was their third best defender last season (though will only be getting better) and Lamptey hasn't played since December. They won't be any worse than last year if they sell those two and get good replacements/a decent striker. Gonzalez would be a very good player for them. He's incredibly direct and makes things happen from nowhere. Something they were definitely missing after Lamptey was out. I wouldn't put too much hope in them breaking apart.
  2. That would be fantastic, it's not realistic though. For strikers the expectation is for them to score about half as many goals in the Premier League than in the Championship. For Buendia to put up an 8 goals/8 Assists - ish kind of season in a side that'll realistically be in a relegation battle, he'd have to be one of the leading players in the entire league. For comparison, some players in similar positions who are on course to have such a season this year or worse: Sadio Mané (8G, 5A), Timo Werner (5G, 8A), Raphinha (5G, 5A), Richarlison (6G, 3A), Pedro Neto (5G, 4A), Mason Mount (5G, 4A). All of those are exceptional talents, but it's just very hard to get into double figures for goals OR assists in the Premier League. If Buendia were to do that next year, and in a non-top-half team, he'd be a 60-70m player.
  3. He was definetely very well known before he came to Leeds and it was seen as a bit of a coup for them. Then again, partly why he was so well known is because he's an absolute nutter (not necessarily in a bad way).
  4. Again, this is from the official FA rulebook. This is exactly what happened for the goal. How the hell is there any discussion here? And how can some people be so confidently wrong?!?
  5. In case anyone really does not understand the offside rule, here's the official FA rule for the season: click here You can download the full rule book at the bottom. There, on page 211 the exact situation from the goal is described in an illustration and it's clearly stated "[The] Attacker [...] cannot be penalised". There really is no space for discussion or "opinions".
  6. How this is still only 1:0, I have no idea. Buendia is on the edge, both from the ref and from not having scored a second and third. Need to put this to bed now.
