  1. I see the Belgian Courts overruled the Mayor, told him to wind his neck in, and allowed the conference to resume.
  2. So as I suggested, not dissimilar to Stop Funding Hate and with the same aims as the Mayor(s) of Brussels.
  3. Presumably the Global Disinformation Index is yet another group of self-righteous activists who see it as their right to try to stifle any voices and opinions they don’t agree with, not unlike Stop Funding Hate and the Mayor(s) of Brussels.
  4. How about a quarter-quarter-quarter-quarter scarf to celebrate our (hopefully) reaching the play-offs? I’ll get my coat…
  5. Forest Green relegated. Conclusive proof that a vegan diet isn’t good for you!
  6. Ah, but have they made it illegal to grow your own tobacco? Perhaps they’ll allow up to three plants for personal consumption!
  7. With this smoking ban it doesn’t look like the UK will be legalising weed anytime soon!
  8. Talking of being linked with extremists, I see the Mayor of Brussels was seemingly happy to host the Mayor of Tehran. https://www.express.co.uk/news/politics/1888954/natcon-shut-down-brussels-mayor-iran
  9. Regardless of what people might think of Farage, Braverman et al, the Brussels Mayor ordering the police to close down the NatCon Conference is chilling. It should be remembered that this conference was held last year in London without the slightest problem. You can be vehemently against what the speakers might have had to say, but to shut it down on political grounds because you don’t like their legitimate views is disgraceful. It should be called out for what it is: red fascism. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/europe/national-conservatism-conference-brussels-shut-down-police-b2529501.html https://www.telegraph.co.uk/politics/2024/04/16/rishi-sunak-latest-news-smoking-ban-simon-clarke-liz-truss/ https://www.theguardian.com/world/2024/apr/16/belgian-mayor-natcon-conference-braverman-farage-brussels
  10. This time a bishop conducting a church service was apparently attacked and stabbed multiple times. Some members of the congregation were seemingly also attacked. Motivation of the attacker as yet unknown.
  11. As a democratic nation, Israel is a beacon of relative sanity in an area of extreme volatility full of countries and militias that are at best ambivalent to the West and at worst despise us, and thus it is of enormous strategic importance.
  12. And under what circumstances do you think Iran and its proxies will accept a permanent peace with the “Little Satan”, given that they’re committed to its destruction?
  13. If Israel wasn’t a democratic country and an important Western ally in an inherently unstable and dangerous region then you might have a point.
  14. Although I’ve no idea of the motivation of the attacker, I understand that Bondi has a high Jewish population.
  15. What utter cobblers. You’re simply trying to deny the truth which is how we ended up in this sad situation in the first place.
  16. Clipper decaff (in the blue box) is also pretty decent.
  17. Brewdog would be ok if their beers didn’t all taste of grapefruit. I agree with previous commenters that if you want a non-alcoholic bitter then Ghostship (technically low alcohol as it’s labelled as 0.5%) is the probably the best, but without doubt the best alcohol-free beer by a long way is Guinness 0% which, on a hot day, I could happily drink two or three pints of.
  18. I greatly enjoy (some) folk and a lot of folk-rock, and I’ve tried so many times to like Fairport, even to the extent of going to their Cropredy festival, but there’s just something about them that doesn’t quite strike a chord with me.
  19. Yes, the report was perfectly timed to cause embarrassment for Yousaf, the SNP and the Greens in Scotland in their apparent ideological promotion of the trans agenda and their attempts to suppress any alternate dissenting views through the ridiculous hate crime act.
  20. You can assume whatever you want, sunshine, just as I could make assumptions about people who were seemingly very happy to march alongside Jew-hating, pro-Islamist, Hamas supporters.
  21. And this is why I, and presumably many others, have had profound misgivings about NCFC (and football in general) embracing such things as LGBTQ+ Pride month, rainbow laces etc because of the implicit requirement to unquestioningly accept, support and celebrate the whole trans agenda, despite the clear and obvious harm it can cause to highly impressionable and vulnerable youngsters.
  22. Contrary to the predictable naysaying and accusations of whataboutery, it’s entirely appropriate to compare the establishment and subsequent history of Pakistan with that of Israel. And you’re absolutely right that there’s absolutely no call from the usual suspects for Pakistan to be disestablished or even for it to stop meddling in Kashmir. And this makes me question whether the outrage and intolerance that the Muslim world (and many on the left) heap on Israel would exist at all if it had been an Islamic nation, and I suspect the answer would be a resounding no. And why is this? Quite simply because of the clear Islamic teaching of hatred for the Jews and consequently the whole premise for Muslim opposition to the existence of Israel since it was founded in 1948 is based purely and simply on antisemitism.
