  1. The old "we lost cause we had lots of injuries." Wrong, you lost because you came up against a more motivated and skillful side on the night.
  2. Are you incapable of reading the league table? We're in the middle of it and delighted with that as we thought we would struggle again. We haven't as yet, and you've won nothing yet either so maybe save the "we're gonna **** the leaque until you've actually done it."
  3. Is that really you Alex? A fine figure of a man I have to say. Where are you ? Looks like a car boot sale.
  4. It does and they do or are you not aware that the game last Wednesday went ahead? In case you hadn't noticed, Luton won 3-1.
  5. I knew it wouldn't take long for someone with an ego the size of the Mersey Tunnel would come up with that. Difference is that Kenilworth Road is in the community that the club represents, i.e. Luton. Ironically the laughingly named Community Stadium is no-where near the community it represents, i.e. Colchester. Whilst KR is shabby and past it's sell by date and has been for a long time at least it looks like a proper football ground as opposed to a quickly assembled maccano set placed in the middle of a field surrounded by nothing other than a fast trunk road encouraging everyone to drive past it rather than to go to it.
  6. I'm surprised Colchester United can afford to be choosy about who goes to their ground in the middle of no-where. Last time I went there with a fellow Luton Town supporting mate he creased me up when he said, having seen the place for the first time, and I quote: "****ing dead and alive place in the middle of ****ing no-where, you park on the other side of A12 at a park and ride then, to get to the ground you've two choices, (1) walk halfway to ****ing Clacton before crossing a bridge over the A12 and then walk half a bloody mile back the way you've just come from to reach the ground or (2) risk your life crossing the ****ing four lane road and then climb over wooden fences to cross bleeding muddy fields to get there. Hope we get promotion cause I never want to have to come to this ****ing hole again." The way he said it was so funny but sadly he was spot on.
  7. If it were Luton it would play right into the hands of the EFL and a 30 point penalty would be imposed.
  8. Blimey, she looked quite tasty then. It's horrible the damage time does to the body, for proof of that you only have to see me at 25 and now knocking on 80!
  9. I think the situation with Lewis was that for some reason he fell out of love with football at Luton, maybe he had a disagreement, I don't know, but he left the game completely and took up athletics. Apparently he was a top athlete and his mother was/is a qualified athletics coach in the area. After about a year he decided to go back to football again by which time his registration at Luton had lapsed and Norwich came in for him, I think because Greg Broughton was by that time at Norwich having previously been academy coach at Luton. So basically Norwich stole him from us for zilch,(he says tongue in cheek!). Aarons was also at Luton with Broughton I believe and because Norwich had higher grade academy facilities than Luton he chose to move to Carrow Road for what I seem to recall was a "nominal fee." Luton do however have a percentage sell on clause if and when he leaves Norwich although I've no idea what that percentage is.
  10. I'm just delighted your lads came up with two late goals to deny Wednesday any points. With us (Luton) going down unsurprisingly at Swansea it's important those below us stay there. Maybe Max Aarons decided it was time to give a little back to his home town!!
  11. They've not won yet! Come on you yellows, three points against those peskey Northerners please to keep them in the basement area. Luton have a tough one today at Swansea, I'd be delighted to get a point but am far from confident we'll get that so it's important you yellows win.
  12. I enjoy the banter with opposing fans and yes, sometimes I can get carried away and say things that maybe I shouldn't say, but that's what being a firm supporter of your club sometimes does to you. I apologise if I've upset anyone Canary fan, but sometimes I get carried away in the support of my club. We as a club were royally stuffed by the FA and the FL both of which, because of previous devious owners all of whom tried to asset strip the club in order to line their own pockets, were determined to put the club out of business and they very nearly succeeded. You'll never know the anger us fans have towards the authorities for the 30 point deduction which consigned us to non league football. Then, in the Conference, some of us thought we were the billy big **** and that we would walk straight back into the FL. But we didn't, the Conference is so hard to escape from with only one automatic promotion and it took us five long years to get back to league two. Since then, with good men running the club, we've clawed our way back to where we are now but we do get annoyed when we're referred to as little old Luton. We've got no money, no parachute payments and our highest player wage earner gets £6000 per week, but there is an amazing togetherness with all of them, they feel that they are fighting the World in game against teams with massively higher budgets but the players will run through brick walls to get results and sometimes the football isn't pretty. The club desperately needs Power Court but in the meantime we will as a club fight tooth and nail to maintain our championship status, as proved during the last few games last season after everyone, (including me), had accepted relegation was a certainty. Good luck today against Wednesday, we need you to beat them to keep them down at the bottom of the table. Every point we win is a point towards survival and that, for me, is the aim again this season.
  13. Ha Ha!! No mate, I don't, sorry. The ground is a one off though and shabby though it is, I'll miss it when we eventually get Power Court. But to progress we have to leave Kenilworth Road.
  14. That's a lovely post ER and very much appreciated. I read somewhere a while ago that over 60% of Luton's season ticket holders don't live in the town and who can blame them. Having said that it is my home town and it's sad the way it has gone downhill for so long. I only go back there for football and frankly I can easily get lost driving around, it's changed so much over the decades and not in a good way. The new ground in the town centre, when up and running will hopefully improve the area and generate a better atmosphere in general. I'm proud to call Norfolk my home and I've never for a second regretted moving here but Luton Town F.C. has always been in my blood and always will be and what the club and its board have achieved over the last seven years, taking us from non league to the championship is amazing. I can't see us realistically challenging for the premiership until we're in Power Court as with the current capacity of only 10,200 we don't have the financial resources to attract the players good enough to get us there. That's just my honest assessment. In the meantime staying in the championship for me will be a great achievement. There are loads of us in Norfolk, one lives in Magdaline Road in the City, another in Costessey, several in Yarmouth/Gorleston, some in North Norfolk, they're all over the place. There is even a Hatters supporters club in Norway and several who come to matches regularly from Germany and Ireland. Thanks again and good luck for the rest of the season, given your injury crisis it's an incredible feat to still be at the top with Bournemouth.
  15. I've thought that might be a problem although after the first lockdown it was open. I'll see when I get there. Last time I went to Dereham the clubhouse was closed meaning I lost out on my cup of hot soup and a tray of cheesy chips.
