  1. It is. perhaps take a look at this Hull fan's report to get some balance: http://boothferrytowembley.blogspot.com/2022/08/hull-city-2-norwich-city-1-tigers-top.html
  2. You believe Aarons lacks confidence do you? I suspect he would be the first to own up that his error had absolutely nothing to with lack of confidence nor anything to do with the manager. Likewise Ramsey's miss, do you really think he went back into the dressing room thinking, "that was all Smith's fault, he makes me feel so unconfident"? Get real ffs! It's absurd to claim "Smith has shown absolutely no ability to improve a player during his tenure here". You don't have the slightest evidence to make such a claim. While he has been here we have seen Springett, Rowe, and Gibbs make impressive debuts, and Omobamidele establish himself as a first team player.
  3. Of course, all Smith's fault that Aarons blundered and Ramsey managed to sky over from 4 yards. Smith's fault too that Gibson blundered and the ref failed to award a nailed on penalty.
  4. A cold dispassionate view would assess the three games as two matches in which City dominated (70% possession) but threw away wins because of player errors that were not the fault of the manager. Thus the message "No need to panic" is perfectly reasonable, just as it was in the early days of similar results under Farke.
  5. I said absolutely nothing of the sort. You claimed that, "Smith couldn't recognise a player with great potential if you stuck a 16-year-old Messi in front of him". I corrected your ridiculous claim by listing several young players that Smith has advanced since his arrival. That list also includes (20yr-old) Omobamidele because Smith has continued to develop the young player, making him a regular starter in front of Gibson. Feel free to explain how that shows Smith has failed to recognise Omobamidele's potential. Also feel free to list all the young City players whose potential you believe Smith has neglected. Your self-declared irrational hatred of Smith really is quite pathetic.
  6. Remind me who has made him a starter in every game this season. You really need to let go of your hatred of Smith.
  7. But it's OK if you happen to be Russia, and the sovereign land you steal belongs to the Ukraine. Perhaps you should do some serious reading of the dictionary; I suggest you begin with the word "hypocrite".
  8. I'm tempted to contribute to Murray's begging bowl but sadly the government ruthlessly abolished the half-penny and I'm not prepared to contribute more than the article is worth.
  9. Perhaps you might like to consult, Omobamidele, Tomkinson, Rowe, Springett and Gibbs on that.
  10. What a shame you don't show a similar concern for the Ukrainian children murdered by Russian invaders. Sadly far too many to name and picture here: https://www.txtreport.com/news/2022-06-22-number-of-children-killed-in-ukraine-324.BkOBjEe95.html
  11. It's certainly true that a team that wins automatic promotion needs to be able to get results even when their performances are sub-optimal (that has certainly been the case in our promotion seasons). The weird thing about Watford atm is that it has yet to put in anything like a convincing display.
  12. Your opinion, certainly not Webber's, nor the board's, or many City fans. Perhaps you have have some privileged access to knowledge of the future, in which case I suggest you pick today's winning lottery numbers and keep doing so until you can afford to buy Delia out and employ a manager who will guarantee the PL title within a couple of years. Btw, Hughton got Newcastle promoted, and achieved a higher PL position with Norwich than Lambert. Replacing managers does not guarantee success; just how many examples of clubs getting demoted after changing their manager do you want me to cite? We are two games into the season, Weber is not stupid enough to sack the manager after two games just because a section of irrational fans don't like Smith's character. He will act if and when there is sufficient evidence that Smith can't achieve the club's objectives. In the meantime why not get behind the team and show some support, or at least show the honesty of Canary Bubbles and admit your hatred of Smith is personal and not rational.
  13. I think Smith's happy with the prospect of Lungi standing in. I suspect any possible loan will depend on the prognosis for Byram's injury.
  14. And what about the season before Farke's first promotion when City finished in the bottom half below Ipswich? Smith also got promoted, and also managed to keep a promoted team up. Like it or not, it is very obvious that Smith is going nowhere in the short term and will be given a chance to get the squad performing to the high level its talent merits. Just what purpose is the bile aimed at Smith supposed to serve?
  15. FFS! They really do want a civil war don't they!
  16. Actually I'm far more saddened by the fact that Smith felt the need to say Sargent is well liked in the dressing room to counter some of the abusive and unwarranted criticism that Sargent has endured. The tone of some fans on here suggests that they would be overjoyed if Sargent fails to prove his worth. I find that bizarre and frankly reprehensible. Would it really be so awful to get behind the young man and encourage him to succeed?
  17. Not sure where you get that from. Perhaps take a look at his record at Villa. After that have a word with Omobamidele, Rowe, Tomkinson, Springett, and Gibbs et al.
  18. What a wonderful quote to display her utter lack of self awareness. Apply that to the cabinet of which she has been a part throughout the egregious tenure of Johnson that she so happily facilitated. We saw exactly what they stand for by observing exactly what they have done; lying, corruption, and deception on a scale never previously seen in UK politics.
  19. Indeed they can, but I'd rather put my faith in the considered judgement of coaches based on their day to day contact with players than the speculation of fans who believe that "so-and-so" would be brilliant if he was just given a chance. From the few performances that Tzolis made I saw no evidence that he deserved a place in front of the other players who leapt over him in the pecking order. I doubt that Smith was unaware that not selecting the £10m (?) Tzolis would be something that would make him unpopular with a vocal section of our supporters.
  20. I repeat again, the coaching staff will have witnessed his performances each day in training. Unless you have evidence that they purposely and unfairly picked on him I fail to see how you, me, or any fan would be in a better position to judge who deserved to be in the starting eleven.
  21. They are utterly depraved. It would literally have taken seconds for them to reverse image search that photo and recognise it as a fake. That they didn't was a deliberate decision. True scumbags.
  22. As you say, we don't know what went on behind the scenes. But I'll tell you who did know, the coaching team who saw him train day in day out. They had clearly seen nothing significant in his performance to suggest that he was likely to get any game time ahead of several other options. Thus it made perfect sense for him and the club to give the lad a chance to prove himself away on loan. I fail to see what is so controversial about this. As for the end of last season; the manager decided that Rashica, Sargent, Springett and Rowe deserved their chance on the wing ahead of Tzolis (Which loan player would he have replaced?).
  23. All a bit academic as the chances of him coming here anyway must approach zero. The fact he gets "frustrated" about being asked why a natural right-footer would also prefer to play left back suggests Williams is doing his best to close off his opportunities. The vast majority of teams will want their left back to be a natural left-footer for the obvious reasons (I can see why United want to get rid).
  24. United used to list him as a right back. I suspect he filled in at left back and found himself perfectly comfortable there. Either way, as a right footer it would be bizarre if he couldn't play right back, and I would be stunned if he refused to play in that position.
