  1. Pretty sure County Hall is. Eldest is a warden sometimes and was asked if he was available.
  2. Surreal to watch what happened to this band. I caught them near the beginning of their rise at a pub gig in Cambridge, bought and still have a DIY t-shirt they were selling. They were great, just spotty teenagers barely old enough to be in the venue but a fantastic presence. Shortly after the gig I got hold of the only CD (it's really that long ago) I could find on eBay which was a demo release of around 20 songs, many ended up on that first album. In my opinion the demos were better than the actual released versions, it's probably on youtube or something, worth a listen. The new stuff is all a bit dull for my tastes, but I like that they have kept evolving.
  3. Years ago, like 6-7, in a rare moment of no-filter mid afternoon radio, Stuart Maconie was on 6music and had asked the question of another celebrity, (words to the effect of) 'who's the worst person you've ever had to work with' and started it off with a mini tirade on his experience in what a complete and utter 4r53 of a man Phil Schofield was. He obviously wanted to air it in public, but It seemed like a joke at the time. Then it all rang true when others started to come out about him being a nightmare to work with a couple of years ago, and then he played his public sexuality card to deflect criticism, and to be fair it seemed to work for a while. Whilst it may be the straw that broke the camel's back I very much doubt that this 'affair' is the only reason he's gone.
  4. Yeah I also tried chatGPT and went to Bard instead for some up to date cutting edge insight drawn live from current data 🙃 Declan Rice would do a job though wouldn't he, I'm disappointed in our lack of ambition, Delia out, grab me bedsheet and all that.
  5. I asked Google bard who we need to sign to get promoted: ------------------------ Norwich City should sign players in the following positions to ensure promotion from the Championship to the Premier League: Striker: Norwich City need a proven goalscorer to lead the line in the Premier League. Some potential targets include Ashley Barnes, Dominic Solanke, and Ivan Toney. Central defender: Norwich City's defense was leaky in the Premier League last season, and they need to add some more quality at the back. Some potential targets include James Tarkowski, Ben White, and Fikayo Tomori. Central midfielder: Norwich City's midfield was also a bit light in the Premier League last season, and they need to add some more quality in the middle of the park. Some potential targets include Yves Bissouma, Declan Rice, and Jude Bellingham. In addition to these positions, Norwich City could also look to add some depth to their squad in other areas. Some potential targets in these positions include Conor Gallagher, Ryan Sessegnon, and Tariq Lamptey. Of course, these are just a few of the many players that Norwich City could sign in the summer. The club will need to do their due diligence and identify the players who are the best fit for their system and their needs. However, if they can sign a few of the players listed above, they will be in a good position to challenge for promotion from the Championship next season. -------------------------- Get your chequebook out Deels.
  6. I think that was more John stones being out of position in-front and not inside the posts and Maguire having to cover, not his fault. And it wasn't a free header, it was just a blooming good header, should never have lost that game.
  7. Watched a film called 'I see you' over the weekend and there was a guy in it I thought I recognised. A former forum favourite https://www.imdb.com/name/nm4977122/
  8. They have deliberately changed their paid social posts to show for users matching a Norwich location. I've blocked 7-8 pages that have done it. It does seem hugely petty, but to be expected, the sun shines on a dogs doodaah occasionally. For anyone who hasn't set up pay per click advertising, you can select your audience by location. You are now their target audience by choice.
  9. Listening to some ex-pros talking on 5Live they suggest that Boehly is getting involved in team talks. What elite manager is going to want to put up with that? Let's hope Attenasio doesn't have the same MO. I love that they are absolutely terrible. Long may it continue.
  10. I actually think BG was dealt with very harshly by Norwich support. But, the reason he played so well yesterday was really down to Wolves' abject performance putting zero pressure on the ball. It's a luxury he never had for us. I don't think he did anything Jacob Sorenson/Kenny/Sara/Gibbs couldn't/wouldn't have done in that game.
  11. If we can only afford one scarf between the two of them I don't have high hopes for the transfer budget
  12. The venn diagram for people who say both 'happy clappers' and 'woke' is just a circle
  13. Back-stabbing Central and Shattered Dreams Parkway
  14. Great to see them descending into an inconsistent mess. Their fans are vile and every one of them that sung Roman Ambramovich's name should be shipped out to the frontline in Ukraine. Just a shame Graham Potter has been tarred by association with them.
  15. Bloomin good, for anyone who likes a bit of Idles, Sleaford Mods etc
  16. Hilarious user experience fail with this online - Vote for your player of the season > first page 'First Name' How many people are going to be registered as Onel. This is what happens when web developers are left to do stuff on their own.
  17. What a thread. Yep. It's uncomfortable on a number of levels, before during and for a while after. Listening to and then smelling your own burning flesh is also not pleasant. I didn't take anything other than paracetamol/Ibuprofen and a bag of peas which I probably still ate 🙂You won't be able to run , play football,or cycle for some weeks after, I can't remember how many exactly. But overall, it's less hassle than the alternative if you've got that far in your decision making process. Been a few years since, but the Dr. who did mine could not have looked any more like Hannibal Lecter if he tried.
  18. In the away game vs Newcastle in the PL he started (when they went down to 10 men) he looked possibly the most likely to do something and was, I thought, quite harshly taken off at half time. Seemed a bizarre decision considering some of the dross the rest of the midfield were responsible for. It was a terrible team performance but he did show he was willing to put himself about and try to make things happen. There were flashes of something in that game.
  19. Grant Holt Burger at Gonzo's Tea Room. No requirement to eat for the rest of your visit. The science festival is on next week, quite a few things on https://norwichsciencefestival.co.uk/ - interests me, but I get that may not be to everyone's taste. The castle is still being worked on. Assuming you will be in the vicinity of the football ground, the dry ski slope is not far away for tubing and has a bar/cafe viewing area, also nice for a wander down to whitlingham broad.
  20. Jacking my 3 tickets in this year. Kids are at the age where they are now starting to work weekends and it will go some way to meet the extra costs of everything else that has gone up in price. I know how hard up my parents were when I was young, but they have very much forgotten the struggle now they are in their 60s- 70s. I think today's generation of pensioners have had a relatively decent ride, born post-war, reasonable house prices, reasonable pension arrangements, free university tuition, were at career peak earnings before the 2008 crash and retired before COVID. There's a lot of wealth in that generation and I'm not sure that the discount is justified but that is my unevidenced opinion. There clearly will be those who are less wealthy in any demographic. If the club chucked me a discount because I was taking two kids to games (who are likely to be dependents) it would seem to make more sense. But there you go. Everyone will have their own biases.
  21. In top sides young players new to the league are often used sparingly for a year or so. Although nowhere near the ability of Saka, or Foden as examples, this sink or swim attitude isn't one good managers and coaches tend to employ, neither of the aforementioned spent any time on loan as far as I'm aware. Forget the fanfare of his arrival, I think he needs to be in and around the team until the end of this season now, really feel at home at NCFC and with his team mates. I think we are at a good time to reset to day one and give the lad a chance.
  22. Playing in a band, in pubs, every gig without fail punters will come up and start asking for songs, while you're playing. Can't hear a word of what they are saying (A: because we wear ear defenders, B: because we're stood in-front of a drum kit and numerous speakers), it's not karaoke (why do people think you know every song ever written? And no I'm not playing Wonderwall) and I'm trying to concentrate. Basically, if you see anyone doing this (or if you are a perpetrator) the band member is ignoring every word and is looking through you secretly hoping you go away and don't come back.
  23. He was very poor Saturday and actually could have been taken off after 25mins without much of an argument. It's a shame because generally I do rate him but he looked incredibly lightweight, wasteful in possession and looked well off the pace. Seem to remember Dabo doing similar in the home fixture againse Byram though, he's a decent player.
