1. This has been a long, hard season. Our team of Championship and League 1 players have played the best football of their careers, week in week out. Following that final big push at Spurs which pretty much guaranteed our survival, yes they have dropped the performance level slightly. Is that not to be completely expected, and totally understandable?? If you are punching way above your weight week in week out, of course it''ll catch up with you, especially when the pressure is off. As Lambert has stated, what we have achieved this season is nothing short of a miracle, especially as we were favourites to go down. They must be KNACKERED! So, before we bitch too much about losing against some of Europes top players, lets just think about what we HAVE achieved this season.

  2. Quite like the yellow submarine idea, although I would say to just leave the lyrics as the Beatles wrote them.  Everybody knows the words, everybody knows the song, and singing "we all live in a yellow submarine" is funny!  Plus, as we are sneaking unnoticed up the league, we have got some submarine qualities anyway! So we sailed on to the sun,

Till we found the sea green,

And we lived beneath the waves,

    In our yellow submarine,

We all live in a yellow submarine,

    yellow submarine, yellow submarine,

We all live in a yellow submarine,

    yellow submarine, yellow submarine.

  3. There has been talk of a bronze statue being erected at Carrow Road to celebrate a club legend. I think Justin Fashanu would be perfect. Not only was he a club legend who scored one of the greatest goals ever seen at Carrow Road, he also battled against racism and homophobia for the nest part of his career, and the way his life ended was tragic. A statue of him (in the pose after his goal against Liverpool) would be perfect, especially as racism and homophobia seem to be creeping back into the game once more. There is a Facebook group, if you agree, join here....http://www.facebook.com/groups/301622759897502/

Whatever way you put it, a game of football is not worth £31.  In a million years.  I have a season ticket, and I almost blindly accept the monthly direct debit without really thinking about it.  However, had I have parted with £60 odd on Friday night for me and my wife, then I would have been fuming.  Or to put it another way, I wouldn''t have gone in the first place.  I love NCFC, have been a season ticket holder for 30 years (since the age of 4) but I would not pay that kind of money to watch them. If that makes me less of a fan, then fine. A game of footbal should cost £10-£15.
Lol, but it doesn''t cost that, and a bag of chips is no longer 2 shillings either.

No one is forcing anyone into Carrow road, if you can''t afford the price, you can''t go, it really couldn''t be simpler.

I''m 35....not 95.  I even recognise your Cube signature, although Death Certificate kicks the arse off the Predator........

  6. The reason people moan (including me) is because we are paying extra money for everything at the football club, not for an increase in the quality we are watching every week, but in order to maintain the players ridiculous wages (yes, that old chestnut again).  People talk of Norwich City like they are a charity.  If I were to plough money into a charity, and then see some of the charity workers driving around in top of the range sports cars, I would swiftly withdraw my money again.  I know it''s the way of the world, and thats how football is these days, but it really highlights the power and mercenary attitude footballers have over their clubs.  It sucks.

  7.
Sad news. There is one piece of commentary that has stuck in my head for more than 20 years. It was Hillsborough in 1982 in front of 10,000 City supporters...Downs, Downs to Bennett. He crosses the ball, in goes Bertschin, he''s scored! Is that the goal that is going to take Norwich City back to Division 1? Sheffield Wed 1 Norwich City 1. RIP Roy!
Do you know what, I''ve had that exact piece of commentary stuck in my head all morning!!  How weird!!  I was at that game, and I''m sure that snippet of commentary was on the b-side to the "Something To Shout About"  single!!  My grandad bought it for me in ''82 and got it autographed by the squad. Classic stuff, Roy is an NCFC legend and the voice of my youth....

  8. Oh really?  I didn''t realise it was an enforced thing. Actually, that annoys me even more (and no, I''m over the moon that we''re promoted before the usual pink un police jump on me).  I just feel that the celebrations are more for the sponsors than they are for the fans.  I guess thats just me coming from watching NCFC in the 80''s, when celebrations were passsionate and spontaneous (i.e didnt feature black t shirts, corporate staging, "celebration" music, ridiculous tickertape etcetc). I remember winning Division 2 in 86-87 (I think it was).  Now that was a genuine, fan led celebration......anyway, I''m gonna f**k off once more.  Just realised why I stopped posting on this forum.

  9. I don''t believe that I said that I was unhappy that we''d won the league, I''m just dissapointed that all the photo''s and memories of today will be featuring a bunch of players in black tshirts rather than the friggin famous green and yellow shirts that they actually play in.  I don''t see how thats me moaning......

  10. I, for one, applauded the fans who ran onto the pitch at full time.  A big 2 fingers up at "the man" I say, and that pathetic p.a announcement.  I remember a time when you could celebrate by running on the pitch, and have the players celebrating with you.  We''d just won the league f.f.s.  As for the people who boo''d them...come on you bunch of nancy boys.....

Not impressed at all. It was one of those situations where they speak to you for fifteen minutes then cherry pick (or rotten cherry pick as the case may be) bits out and they totally misrepresent you. I simply gave the story as events unfolded and at one point a rumour went around that Lambert had influenced the referee, and I mentioned this. I told the reporter I consider this unlikely as the ref has the final say but they didnt print that bit. We were also lost in Walsall at the time, and I was supposed to be navigator, and was getting Paddington stares from the chairman who was driving at the time, and already had the opinion that women cant navigate. It was bound to go all wrong.

For what its worth even if Lambert did put pressure on the ref than I support him. He hasnt got much wrong so far.

Was this really worth starting a thread about?

If Mr Terrible annoys you so much, go punch his lights out.

Love the proposition of violence over discussion and debate Shyster, you''ve clearly got a lot of class. [Y]

Hark at you in your one bedroom housing association flat in the Gay capital of Britain.

One doesn''t get to own property in the Channel Islands without a hefty portion of ''class'', sunshine.

Oop, homophobic as well as a bragger.....bless ya''.........

Is it you making a politically correct over react, or is it just Shyster being funny?  I thought it was funny, but then again, I am not one looking to be offended.

Thats because I''m a gay person living in Brighton, desperate for some class and a property in the Channel Islands. Just like Bergerac, or Charlie Hungerford.
I left early.  This was due to a new band of 17 year year old chavs who have decided to sit next to me this season, and talk constantly about Arsenal, even referring to them as "we", say c**t every other word, constantly shout for "cody to come on", keep pushing an older man who sits in front and also a complete dick who sits behind me, who thinks he''s a real "lad".  He always does that slap on the back thing to me, and talks about how his missus "is off shopping whilst I''m at the footbal/down the pub/eating a very hot curry" etc etc etc.  Please, stop talking to me.  Didnt really care less that I missed the goal, it was hardly a classic, and at least we got a point out of it.  We''d probably have lost if I''d stayed.  Back to my first point though, I''m really sick and tired of the Barclay now. I''ve stood/sat there for 20 odd years, but I think I''ve grown out of it.  Can''t be doing with the new chav occupants.
Probably an obvious thing to say but why don''t you enquire to the club about moving your seat to the Jarrold or N&P? I know you shouldn''t have to but if these ''people'' are ruining your matchday experience then perhaps you should take it into consideration....

I''ve highlighted another quote from yourself regarding the fact ''we would''ve lost if you''d stayed'' that''s an interesting theory, in that case maybe you should consider not coming at all if your presence has that determental effect on the team! I often think would the result of been different if I was not there or there, very strange theory but maybe something to think about next home match :)

It''s the same thing if I turn on Radio Norfolk part way through a match.  The opposition scores within 2 minutes. I''m cursed.  But yeah, I might enquire about switching stands.  I do have a good seat location wise, and I hold the Barclay in dear affection, but the people are really starting to get on my bloody nerves now.
