  1. Would agree that flem is not on form, but I think the fact that he is the only one out of him, charlton and doherty that trained with him last season is important. Maybe he is in a better position than those two to know the best way to defend against him?
  2. I think that was the old Ipsh*t coming out from Robson. He''s not likely to congratulate us when his beloved blues are languishing in the "diet premiership".
  3. As reported on the Sunderland Echo website. PAUL THIRLWELL could be back in the Premiership next season, with newly-promoted Norwich City currently leading the chase for the released Sunderland midfielder''s signature. He has been released by Sunderland.
  4. But having said that they hda a story about Dickov leaving Leicester and going to Blackburn on the Div 1 pages I doesn''t make sense - but then after using their message board, nothing surprises me, it is total pants
  5. Worthys comments on the "striker" Bentley "He can play wide out on the right, wide out on the left and behind the front two. To have that kind of flexibility in what''s going to be not the biggest of squads will be very, very useful." Looks like he is going to use him in the midfield. How will this effect the line up. Svensson and Mackensie upfront, with Hucks and Bentley on the wings, and Francis/Holt central midfield?????
  6. Valid points from both of you. Personally I think they are a terrible thing for all of the reasons Wiz has stated. However, this year I am glad they exist, as next year I would much rather having to beat the team placed 6th this year than the team who finished 3rd.
  7. Further to this, I have just seen on a Birmingham website that we are in talks with Rob Edwards, he has 1 year left on his contract, but would be available for a nominal fee.
  8. Mr R Sitch is actually in the Norwich Phone Book. Have a look. Also I went to school with a lad called Wayne Kerr...... and he was!!!!
  9. Just heard that FiveLive have said that Iwan is to be unveiled as the new Southampton boss!!!! Maybe the rumours about Crouch being in Norwich are true.
  10. Hi all, Just wondering if any of you guys also post to the BBC 606 Div 1 board, and if you use a different alias. It seems that there are a few canary fans on there, but not nearly enough for my liking, too many Hammers and Blades.
  11. Just read that he has a thigh strain, so will probably not feature for a while anyway.
  12. Why are we constantly looking backwards, we have some great young players coming through - Shackell, Sinclair, etc. What is the point in taking the likes of Kenton on a 3 month loan, for us to get to the Prem (hopefully) and have to send them back to their clubs and then throw untested (Shackell) or old (Malky) in against the like of Henry, van Nistelrooy et al. I think we have to look to the youth team structure we have in place, and supplement this with quality proven players that will be with us for 2-3 years or more, should we get promoted. I cannot see that bringing in players for a few months only for them to leave and for us to be in no better a position than when they joined. PLayers need games to become confident, and respected, and by asking them to play their hearts out for a club, only to bring in a player that did not want to be with us at the end of last season can only breed resentment and negativity. I say put the young uns in early, and give them the experience against the kind of strikers that that are likely to face week in week out in the Premiership. If we do not make it this year, at least they will be ready for the push next year.
  13. I was under the impression that we could take Crouch as he is under 24(?) and any player under that age is available for a season long loan, which is why Hucks was only going to come back if he signed full time.
  14. Good to see him on there, shame they couldn''t have updated the text though. Still says he is on loan!!!!!
  15. Agreed. I think Svensson, should start, with the pace of Leon to bring on once the opposition is getting tired. Midfield is looking a interesting area as well, Holt, Mulryne, Francis challenging for the central roles, Hendo/Rivers on the right, McVeigh/Brennan on the left. I think we need to strengthen a little in defence, but other than that, good solid squad, cannot see any weak links (barring injury of course).
