Educated post well done, you must be proud. I’m not happy with this signing at all. It’s a gamble of €11m we don’t have to be honest when he’s not ripped any trees up in the Polish League and was only signed for €1m a year ago. People cite the Pukki and Buendia argument but for every one of them there’s been far many more misses. We should be utilising the loan system a lot better with up and coming players. Look at Southampton and Burnley in recent seasons with Harwood-Bellis etc. Of course like any fan I’ll get behind him but we have to realised in recent years we haven’t progressed; have lacked direction and if fans believe losing to Oxford and drawing at home to Burnley is acceptable then it just isn’t.

Delap impressed at Hull last year and all their fans wanted to keep him. He’s young and raw most strikers take time to mature look at Harry Kane when we had him on loan. Kalvin Phillips you say at 100k but Gareth loved him and there’s a player which Pep saw and wanted. Pukki was on 40k in Prem so for 60k difference that’s £3m for one season. If players like him and Broja help keep them up then it’s good business. Don’t cite 66 appearances as he barely played minutes in some games so it’s manipulation of stats. i don’t want Ipswich staying up but fair play to their ambition I wish we showed some guts and desire. We went up and sold our best player Buendia. We had a mentality of top 26 club in England which is small minded

Grow up. What pathetic fans we have with complete limitations to their mindset if i say the club down the road have made a good signing. To get comments like binner ffs - are we all 13 on here? We currently lack so much identity as a club it’s concerning. Knapper seems chaotic is my only take on his reign so far. Signing this player and letting Jonny Rowe go for only a few million more - come on. Who had even heard of this guy before? Where were any other remotely decent clubs before we got him. Do we not learn after Rasicha and Tzolis signings.
-
I just don’t get this signing at all. In the Polish league what has he done to multiply his value x10 in one year. Crazy signing. Down the road meanwhile they are signing Broja - what a great signing that is. At least they are giving it a go. We seem to be clueless and panic buying here.
-
If we need to raise funds, do we have any £10m+ players left? Sara if we don't go up as to be one which will look to leave. Must be easy a £12m-£15m player Rowe also with U21 credentials has to be a £10m+ player, having an incredible season and looks a baller.

I was in Manchester this week for a conference and randomly spoke to a Burnley fan. Said Norwich have an amazing player who will give his everything. Said he was disappointed about him not staying with them in Premier League. I said about his age and lack of goals on paper but he seemed to think I need not worry and thought we had done really well.

So what only as a Labour of love apart from supporting Norwich have always had an interest in stars of tomorrow. Many years ago I had a website but work and life got in the way. Now the days of social media are here of which I am no expert. However if your interested I have a new Instagram account as follows footballwonderkidscout Be great if you could join me on the journey but no worries if not! I

Just awful. If we go up we may as well raise a white flag if he’s playing. Liam Gibbs on the hand was great. Nice to see him back. At 19 some player!

Look a long way to go, this isn't to sound complacent in any way. Just for debate/discussion. If we were to go up, given Nottingham Forest seem to lack a coherent transfer strategy, how would you best like us to recruit/strengthen? I would prefer us to go with 3 players at £15m each or even a £25m striker and one other to show a progressive strategy, than several at £8-10m. Currently we lack quality across the board. We would need attacking options and we need reinforcements at the back. Cantwell/Dowell/Kenny are not up to it. Neither is Sorenson/Idah/Gibson if we go up as well
-
Looks a real player. Getting better all the time. He was a constant nuisance yesterday. Ok second half everyone started to fizzle out but he is a real threat. Brandon Williams also getting better as he’s starting to settle.

Seems like our scouting based on stats has been the making of our undoing. Probably so obsessed with the likes of Buendia being a success we have lost sight of traditional scouting methods. Signings like Placheta who is amazingly quick but has no end product and Josh Sargeant who covers lots of ground yet delivers very little else. I am not sure what the thinking was behind these signings and where the assessment about ability to score goals would from. In Hugill, Idah, and Sargeant we have three strikers with very underwhelming goal statistics. The soccerbot as well? I mean come on, players will not improve this way. It’s a waste of money. Accept we are going down as without any signings let’s face it that’s the reality, blood players like Rowe and get us prepared for the Championship with squad hungry to take us forward.
-
If both confirmed and they come in at £15m (£10m for Ajer with £5m for Gunn) that's two very solid and young signings to add and so far you would have to say money well spent. Both areas we need to strengthen. If we can get a loan in this season also, rumours of Brandon Williams who can pay right or left-back and provide cover if not strength to those positions.

Morale of The Squad After Fire Sale
CanaryLegend replied to CanaryLegend's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Tell you what we should ignore, naive fans thinking this is in anyway positive. The term cloud cuckoo land comes to mind. In today’s world this is absolutely bonkers and undervalues his true worth. Covid or no Covid money is still in the game. We have just raised the white flag. -

Glad some people are happy with no ambition. Typical mentality of so many at the club. We are relegated already and those who think we have a chance are deluded. Dont worry lads we still got Hugill! -

Firesale is selling assets off cheaply to avoid bankruptcy so ok poetic licence with last bit come on let’s wake up and smell the coffee. Name another club who get promoted and sell the crown Jewell’s. Also imagine us replacing the talent? People’s costs have just gone up when we come knocking on the door? Mattheus Perreira for £15m now we got £33m - no chance!! -
Can’t be great after this sale of Emi. A team who should be on a high, won the league and back in the promise land. If the fans are feeling put out and deflated by Emi’s departure to a team who less face it were almost relegated last season then imagine the players left. Do they even question their own ability and talent that they haven’t left either? We have now lost our two best players from last year in Skipp and Buendia with Aaron’s almost certain to leave. The team begins to look very ordinary to say the least. Emi was a real talisman and creative spark involved in most of our goals. It surely makes other players with any talent and ambition to jump ship like Aaron’s and Cantwell and not a good omen to attract talent. What other team has come up and started the season with a firesale?? Emi at £33m was sold cheap and under value. How does Webber justify and say this was too good to turn down. He was the best player we have ever had.
-
So Getafe pick up £6m from the sale leaving us £27m for him. God help us next season we have undersold minimum 40m
-
Would love us to sign him from Orlando Pirates if Barnsley don’t go up. Reported £15m tag looks a snip. Prolific and very physical. If we want to stay up we are going to be need spending this calibre of player. I am also assuming Aaron’s maybe off for £30m also. Two places like Dike would look like great business. Danjuma at Bournemouth at say £20m-£25m also and two great players for Aaron’s and a bit of cash on top.
-
Is there anyway they will stay next year or do we think this final run in is the last we will see them in a yellow shirt. If they do leave what is the minimum we should accept? For me minimum is Buendia at £35m but realistically he should be £40M and at least £30m for Aarons.
-
Ok he was quiet yesterday but Gibson and Hanley were solid. I am slightly envious of the Brentford scouting system and repeated gems they pick up, granted ours is also very special. Clearly more fire power needed next season and for me maybe the next Ivan Toney is Mallik Wilks at Hull. Young, scores goals and only just turned 22 which for a striker is when they started hitting their stride.

Deserves his own thread tonight. Wow, apart from goal his passing and work rate. Unreal - most talented player we have ever had. Enjoy him whilst he is here.

Vrancic should start he’s only one with quality on the bell and looks like making something happen -
Has he actually had a good game for us?? Serious question
-
Too many average players starting. Plachetta, McLean and Rupp to kick it off. Vrancic oozes class and Onel should be starting over Plachetta. We could play all not and not score. Pukki out of form but everyone else is rubbish and not good enough. Idah needs to go on loan
