  1. This ''backward move'' would mean playing for a team who are about to go ahead of Norwich in the championship yes? and playing regular football.....yes thats a terrible move Leon. Don''t know what you were thinking.[:O] He will get on the scoresheet soon enough.  Like other players who cost millions of pounds instead of 600,000.
  2. had to listen to this twice as i thought i was hearing things!   Click on this link then scroll down latest shows to Friday Night Kiss...click on this and when it starts playing, fast forward to about 1 hr 54mins and 20 seconds.  Listen to the male caller doing a ''shout'' .. http://www.whatson.com/kiss101/ It is worthY it ..go on listen! Come on ...everyone to Worthys house!!! lol
  3. Yes for definate. Give the kids another run out now several of them have had a taste, let them have a chance to build on it.  Plus Louis-Jean and Thorne if fit enough, Mcveigh if he isnt knocking someones block off,  and then a choice of keepers too.
  4. BRILLIANT! Made my evening after a crap day at work!
  5. Just to add my view and also to go back to the Reading game, i think that he is TOTALLY out of order with slagging off the NHS and Reading staff.  I think he is ok as a manager and he has made us laugh with many of his moans and groans in the past but this time when i heard him complaining about waiting for the ambulance i actually felt quite sick, especially after the FACTUAL statements were released.  What the hell right has he to use his fat gob and big name to drag other people or organisations into it?   I really do hope that this comes back to bite him and i would very much like to see a SINCERE apology.  This time he has gone outside his little world of football and touched on offending even those who don''t follow the game. Taking the spotlight off his players by having a moan at the manager/ref/players/mascots hair colour/state of the pitch? yes fine, dont have a problem with it, but acting like a complete ****? Shove off Jose, i dont want to hear it.   Thankyou Bye Matt
  6. do we not love Paul Mcveigh anymore then????!!!!! [:(]
  7. WHAT?! Sheded, i hope i haven''t misread that post but where does it say in any report that he thinks he ''deserves'' or ''has the right'' to first team football??????? All he has done is request a transfer, i don''t think he ''demanded'' a transfer.  It doesnt mean he thinks he is being poorly treated he merely accepts his opportunitites are limited and wants to be playing every week now he is fit again.  I dont think that is wrong, do you??? He may well be prolific again in Div 1 and may return there or he may do well at another champ club.  If he does then he made the right choice.  He needs to go now while he has a chance at his age to make an impact elsewhere.  Good luck to you Leon.   Matt
  8. BRILLIANT!   Lets keep this up and if we are really really lucky we can help stop a Norwich City player going to the world cup!!  Keep up the good work, bashing the players, especially Green who now has to try and stop shots going in from all 21 other players on the field!!
  9. exactly my thoughts!!!!!!!  what the hell kind of award is THAT????????????????
  10. HUGHES PLAYS, MCVEIGH ON THE BENCH.       SAY NO MORE   IDIOT
  11. R Green, C Fleming, Z Rehman, G Doherty, A Drury, P Thorne, Y Safri, A Hughes, D Huckerby, R Earnshaw, J Johansson Subs: L McKenzie, P McVeigh, D Etuhu, P Gallacher, C Robinson Mcveigh to the bench then....
  12. I think this is one of the best debates i have seen on the message board for some time with some brilliantly thoughtful answers.  Good arguements on both sides.  In my simple opinion, most of us as fans only see what happens on the pitch and not the training ground and from what i have seen during the games he has played WLY has been one of the standout players.  Half of me hopes that he stays and continues to get regular games BUT the other half hopes from WLY''s point of view that he gets an offer from a good club and goes on to have a fantastic career.  I will be gutted for us but pleased for him and will smile for every goal he scores elsewhere (unless against us!).  Time will tell how he fits in after all the new signings.  I just hope that if he has another year, it doesnt get wasted on the bench. WLY Paul Mcveigh!   Matt
  13. HMMM...cant say i had looked at it so closely before....at least it confirms what we all know,  WE HAVE GOT NO CHANCE  AT ALL!  OK?  Give it up!  Anyone coming on this thread and saying " oh yes we might still make it, oh please dont be so awful and negative" please give your valid reasons....oh and also name and address so we can come round and examine your brain.   Thanks Matt
  14. I really, really hope it works out, but i cant see A) us stopping other teams scoring against us  B) him getting any better service than Ashton.  As pee''d off as i am about last nights performance i will always hope that the corner will be turned.  But i cant see it under worthington.  Sorry if we moan on this message board but we are generally UNDER ACHIEVING!
  15. At what point are we ''allowed'' to be negative then?  If none of us were ''negative'' or as i would prefer to say ''concerned'' then where would we end up???  oh yes yes give them time, give them a couple of games, HELL NO LETS WAIT TILL WE''RE IN THE CONFERENCE!! I cant believe Earnshaw has chosen to come here.  He obviously hadnt watched many of our games, and by worthys own admittance, "maybe he wouldnt have come here, had he seen last nights performance". Precisely!   Yes Reading are top of the league, but excuse me, weren''t we supposed to be up there pre-season favorites etc etc.  Why have we slumped? crap tactics, and mostly crap signings. I have EVERY RIGHT to be negative after wasting my time and money last night.   WORTHY OUT!
  16. 1) SPENT OVER A HUNDRED ON TICKETS, NOTHING TO CHEER, AND LOST MY BLOODY MOBILE PHONE IN THE CAR PARK! 2) STOP TALKING ABOUT PLAY-OFFS, YOU ARE THE LAST OF A DAFT BUNCH OF DREAMERS.  WE ARE CRAP. 3) WHY HAVE WE SPENT THE LARGEST CHUNK OF MONEY ON A STRIKER? IS HE GOING TO SCORE 5 EACH GAME? COS YOU CAN BET WE ARE GOING TO CONTINUE LETTING PLENTY IN.  HE HASNT PLAYED YET AND I ALMOST FEEL SORRY FOR HIM.  DOES HE REALISE HE WONT SEE MUCH OF THE BALL? 4) IS MCVEIGH STILL NOT FIT ENOUGH TO PLAY 90 MINUTES?  OUR BEST PLAYER BY A COUNTRY MILE COMES OFF WITH NEARLY HALF HOUR LEFT.  5) THE PAPER AEROPLANES WERE A GODSEND, FANTASTIC ENTERTAINMENT!  DID YOU SEE THE ONE THAT NEARLY WENT IN THE NET?  FELL SHORT BY INCHES!  GOT MY BIGGEST CHEER OF THE GAME! ANYWAY.... Green...ok doesnt matter how good the keeper is you always have a chance of scoring if you beat the defender.  Could have done better with free kick??      5 Drury...Most attack in first half came at him on this side.  didnt cope well.   4 Docherty...not bad in the air  but still sometimes makes silly decisions in the tackle.  5 Fleming...thought at least he looked like he wanted to play and made the effort  6 Colin...ok. made more good challenges and balls than bad ones 5/6 Huckerby....Only did anything of note in the second half when he got a bit of space.  5...just Charlton....did better when defensively required.  other than that anonymous    4/5 Hughes...thought he could take on the entire Reading team on his own whenever he got the ball.  Ran down the flank...into a tight spot...gaining nothing(that was the first half) second half, thought he could score from anywhere....Reading all know he cant so they just let him shoot...again..and again...and again.  Embaressing.   4 Thorne....must have got cold standing around so much.  Not his fault, the ball was up the other end so much.  Must be very frustrated. As mentioned - impossible to rate! Mcveigh...looked the only player with the ability to make a good pass.  Good running, passing. crosses and effort. The only talent on show in yellow and green. 8 MOM. Jarrett...As mentioned before....good job they mentioned he was on the pitch over the tannoy. couldnt see him! 3 (i presume he touched the ball?) Henderson....2 massive chances. Opportunity not taken.  He must be gutted.  unfortunately you have to take them though.  5 Johansson...1 big chance.  1 big fluffed shot.  Hope he settles. 5     Matt
  17. open them up? My backside.   Reading had acres of space on the break and most of the time made good use of it. We were scrambling for the ball for most of the game and they marked us much tighter.  As for Etuhu, he looks incredibly lazy.  Beyond comprehension sometimes.  Yes in the second have he was playing some useful balls and getting forward for some golden but squandered oportunities, but as has been mentioned, one half is not enough.  Man of Match for me by a mile was Mcveigh but bar that we were terrible.  Didnt see a player who was going to do anything.  As for the chances we had, they were 90% when we were 3 or 4 down.  rubbish. Worthy get out.      Matt
  18. Im going.....to see my first norwich game since they played at swindon in the zenith data systems cup!!  So long ago i forget the year.  Dont get much more part time than that, although i do wear my shirt, scarf, and hat around Wiltshire with pride....oh,  till a few games into this season anyway. Cant wait, even tho we will like most predict, get stuffed.  Im just hoping we can scramble a goal in for something to celebrate, even though it wont be followed by the good old Samba tune ala carrow road (i always turn the radio up for that!). My tickets were in the post today apparantly...come on mr postie tomorrow morn!   Matt
  19. TO BUY JEROME SELL GREEN.  easy peasy.  May not get the whole 2 million but not far off.  Thats if you think a striker is priority.  To be honest we have too little cover in every area bar goalkeepers.   Matt
  20. If this is true it is the best news we have had in ages!!!  We have an abundence of good keepers (good enough in this division at the very least i would say)  to keep each other on their toes with this potential number one slot coming up, and if we get a couple of million and it saves us losing ashton or safri then LETS DO IT i say!! [:)]   Matt
  21. Do you think we will get any money for him at all?  If we do i was thinkin 100/200k.  I think its a shame he hasnt had much of a chance with us as he obviously hadnt settled, didnt have his head together.  Not that thats an excuse.   Im not convinced that he would settle in if he came back.  He isnt in Worthys favorites gang and not likely to be.  In summary.  Sell.
  22. Rooneys goal was always going to win it, even i would have voted for it to be honest.  Safri second best goal  of 2005 how awesome is that!  Hope he knows about it!   WELL DONE YOUSSEF!!!!!!!!!!!
  23. Saw a short while ago that safri''s cracker was in the top 8 to vote for on sky sports news!  Get yer votes in!!!   Worth watching sky sports news all day for the repeated footage of it!!
  24. Well if he suffers from lack of confidence lets hope he doesnt bloody read threads like this one!!!  2 goals in 8 appearances so far and thats after allegedly a poor start.  Even at that rate he would be in double figures for the season and alongside ashton we would be getting the goals we need. I can remember too many seasons where our goals have been sprinkled amoung loads of players without a couple of prolific hit men up front.  Dont get me wrong im not saying he is Thierry Henry and im not saying kick out WLY to make way but he is VERY VERY important for the team.  Just look at how much we have been looking forward to his return and his energy and motivation.  Dont for christs sake start knocking him back after 20 minutes!!!!! God some of you lot make me mad sometimes!
  25. I think that sums it up. BELIVE NOTHING! i guess thats just the nature of the transfer market though. Nobody tells it like it really is. Bluff and double Bluff.  Only time will tell. We wait with hearts in mouths for the funfair that is THE JANUARY TRANSFER WINDOW. Back on subject though i would like Davenport.  Dont know who else there is that is tried and tested and proved as good for about 2 million.
