1. I''d like to know who "baldy" is in the 2nd paragraph though...[;)]From most rumours I''d read the money available for this seasons campaign was the same as last years, but Mick has quoted a 10 million increase; which considering how many players we bought in last year seems to be a pretty substantial kitty, even if it means shopping in the lower leagues again.
 2.
A well written article, but kind of what we already know.I''d be interested to know who Mick thinks the next Paul Lambert is, if "the model" has to continue along the lines he set down - who is capable of bringing these league 1 / championship players up to the Premier League standard ?
Good point. Maybe he''ll tell us here if he''s reading?
 3. [U]
For those people who are having heart attacks at the mere thought of Lambert moving on and also now Holt, calm down. Lambert was always going to leave, be it this year or next. Who''s to say when a job like the Villa one was to come up again? He''s not the same type of manager to go straight to an Elite club like Liverpool. He was always going to go to a Villa or Everton etc. Accepted, the way it''s been done has left a sour taste. But, it was always going to happen. The Holt situation is one that happens at all clubs. Yes, more detail on the disagreement would be nice, but it won''t happen. We should just accept it and move on. This has happened countless times at Norwich City over the years and will continue to happen. We now get as much money as we can for Holt and Lambert and replace them with a fresh manager and a player that is young and hungry. Don''t forget, Holt is now 31 and arguably the peak of his career has now gone. He needs to get that last big contract and signing on fee, and he will never get that at Norwich! So, best wishes to both of these club legends, and let''s get replacements in who will also be held in the same regard.
Far too bloody sensible. Now please excuse me while I get back to my coronary. [U]
 4.

I know if I acted in the same way as either Holt or Lambert have over recent days/weeks I would have been shown the door .
Sorry to be pedantic but isn''t this just exactly what the GH and PL are trying to engineer?
[:D]
 5.

And cue various idiots slagging him off, forgetting the vital goals he scored for us, and the three player of the season awards.I''d rather keep him, but every cloud has a silver lining, and now might be a good time to turn a profit on him.
I see your point Morty, but to be honest, I''ll be more able to look at things objectively once the emotions have settled down...but right now it is a double whammy and he can f*** right off! [:@]
I guess for some people from North of the border it is more a case of stars in your eyes celebrity "I''m a good guy appeal" than NCFC being more important than someone with ideas way above their station.I personally can''t wait to see Holt flop wherever he goes next season.
Same here...yes they (along with the rest of the squad) have been heroes in the last 3 years, but right now it is too raw for me to wish him/them well. Gutted. It feels like the heart has been ripped out.
 6.
Something tells me this won''t be the final transfer request. Have we seen the last of Pilkington/Howson/Hoolahan/Ruddy ... whatever McNally says?   It seems so so cruel that by over achieving we have to unravel so fast. I really hoped that we could emulate Stoke City and go from strength to strength but for some reason this doesn''t seem possible.
This^^^

In the space of two days it looks like we''re going to lose the manager, the captain and club talisman/goal-scorer. What next? We certainly don''t want to hang on to anyone who simply doesn''t want to be here - but how deep does this go?

 9. From Twitter:david mcnally ‏@davidmcnally62Despite what you may have heard today, Jonny Howson is not for sale. No chance. None. Not for sale and never has been.
 10.
Surely he has to sign it every year other wise he''s on a never ending contract! And the point is if its just a 1 year rolling contract then he doesnt have for example 2 yrs left on his contract to effect compensation does he. If he leaves today he''s only got about 12 hours left of his existing contract! Can somebody who actually knows how it works post the answer rather than the usual bull$hit attempt at humour.
It''s been answered a few times already...if you''re still confused google it. While you''re at it google a sense of humour.

 12.
And the brainwashed Deliarites rush to their Saviour''s defence. How very predictable.
To be fair Cluck, no more predictable than your Anti-Delia ramblings is it?
 13.
The talk around here, Birmingham, is that Martinez was one of the managers we were interested in but didn''t want to talk to us because of the Liverpool job. When he became aware that Rodgers was in line for the Liverpool job his advisers contacted Villa to say he was willing to talk but was told that Villa had other options ongoing and wouldn''t be seeing Martinez.I don''t think Martinez will be back in the frame at all.
Gee, thanks Pongo - we''re trying to find a positive here. [;)]Next you''ll be telling us Delia''s pies are crap too...
 14.

The Guardian are now saying that Martinez will battle Lambert for the job:http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012/may/31/paul-lambert-roberto-martinez-villa?
Hmmm, interesting.I''m not being biased, but I would consider Martinez a far better option.
Let''s hope Villa do as well. I wonder though if the damage has already been done as far as PL''s relationship with the board are concerned.Who knows? Just shows that you have to take ALL media reports with a pinch of salt - a lot of it is guesswork, speculation and rumour after all.Fingers crossed PL remains for another season yet...although I have to admit it looks unlikely.

 16.
Right enough - I just stubbed my toe on the coffee table whilst dancing to ''Rebel Rebel'' (severe pain emoticon)
Have you torn your dress? And is your face a mess? [:^)]
 17. On Sky Sports News a few minutes ago they were saying they understand that PL is still our manager at this point and has not resigned.
 18.
i would say the downside is that he''s shIt?
You''re welcome to your opinion of course...but you''re wrong. [:)]
 19. I''d like to see Curbishley in for the reason that I think an older more experienced man is required in a situation like this (if it is indeed true, as looks likely). He has bags of Premier League experience on a tight budget which is exactly what we need right now to steady the boat. The downside is, yes he has been out of the game a while, but there will always be risks with any appointment.

 21.
I bet shirt sales have been impacted.. Especially as it seemed every other NCFC shirt I''ve seen in the last 2 seasons has had HOLT 9 on the back.
Ah, but sales of HOLT ? have rocketed.
 22.
You know what, you guys are probably right.I''m not sure myself why I''m taking such a hard line with this one, and perhaps a bit of self-inspection and compassion is needed here instead of just quoting laws etc. Please disregard my previous comment, and apologies to anyone who may have taken a poor view of my response, and that includes Mr Beattie and family.
Fair play Indy [Y]
 23.

Decided my years of lurking are over and time to join in the debate.
Welcome to the message board Sussexyellow. I don’t know if you have received from Pete the list of rules for the messageboard but just in case I have attached a copy that he gave me. 1.       First rule of pinkun is that you don’t talk about pinkun 2.       Second rule of pinkun is that, you don’t talk about pinkun 3.       If a post reaches the bottom of the page a new tread must be started 4.       If rule 3 is not followed and a thread reaches page 2, don’t panic but inform a moderator 5.       Any stupid post will immediately be mocked by a classic one liner from Mello 6.       Any intelligent post will be treated with suspicion and distain 7.       Rumours must not be accompanied by source 8.       Asking for source will result in a witty remark about ketchup 9.       CanaryPurple will tell you everything you need to know about finances 10.   If you say you think a manager or player will leave you are a binner 11.   If you say you think a manger or player will stay you are deluded 12.   Incorrect gossip posted as fact results in a 1 month ban 13.   The ban noted in rule 12 can be reduced to 1 day on appeal apparently 14.   Your opinion only counts if you attend every home and away game regardless of work 15.   An inner circle exists but follows the same rules 1 and 2 of this list 16.   Trolls must be fed, always 17.   Speling miztakes must b reported to the original postar immediantly 18.   Unfunny posts regarding fake rules of the message board will not be tolerated 19.   Chase=good, Delia=bad or Delia=good, Chase =bad, there is no in-between Hope this may help and look forward to future contributions.
