1.
Loopzilla, I''m sorry that i''ve caused offence (somehow) but what I''m saying is not bigoted. My opinion is that if you want to get a slimmer shirt the solution is get slimmer yourself, because that helps yourself as well. Instead you have taken the victim card and claimed me, stig and city1st are bigots. That''s quite a strong claim to make.
I''m no victim, and yes I make that claim with good reason, it''s all there in this thread for everyone to see.To quote the Cambridge dictionary: Bigot: a person who has strong, unreasonable beliefs and who thinks that anyone who does not have the same beliefs is wrong. To quote you:"Guys, guys, please. There is a way to fix this. Go take a jog or two?" "Obesity should not be accepted, normalised or catered to. It''s a serious problem (in this country especially) and ought to be dealt with, not accepted as what people should be. Think of the shirt as a prize for slimming down.""I have one lardlad who sits next to me in the River End, who has a bagel before the match, two bags of haribos (one for his enlarged son too) and then washes it down with some dr.pepper at half time. It''s even worse when your trying to celebrate and your nearly being asphyxiated by this guy (who obviously can''t move around much). It''s not a huge problem (pun not intended) but it should be dealt with.""This sums it up with me. Unless theres other reasons, your weight is because of YOU. Don''t blame the club if they can''t fit you in their shirts (which look kind of ironic on a obese person anyway). The worst thing is people are going to think what I just said was offensive, but it''s true."I could similarly quote City1st and Stig, but is it really necessary? If you find that kind of attitude and and rhetoric acceptable then I ask again; would you tell me that to my face? You''re discriminating against people based on their weight. If you were doing the same based on the colour of their skin, or their religious beliefs, or their nationality you''d be in hot water...but to go back to my original post: Bigots will always be bigots, even if they are forced to change their targets....
 2.
We all have our problems.  Some are overweight, some drink too much, some are on drugs, some are selfish, some are mean and nasty, some are just lazy.     Overweight people are sometimes overweight because of their metabolism and/or genetics - they can''t change that - so that is why it is offensive to suggest someone stops eating pies and that will solve their problem - because we just don''t know.   What is offensive to me is not fat people.  Offensive is people who think they are better because they aren''t fat or don''t drink or don''t smoke etc etc.   If you think you are better than an overweight person or better than a drunk or a smoker, look deep down and you will find something in yourself that isn''t ideal.  Maybe you''re addicted to having a negative outlook on life or addicted to a  messageboard [:O] or  maybe you pick on someone at work or bully your employees. None of us is perfect and  we all have our problems.    I once said to my other half that maybe she could lose a little weight and she would feel better.........................I don''t recommend that course of action either [:(].
[Y]
 3.
Not even telling, suggesting to be honest.
Oh wait...he''s found reverse gear. C''mon...back-up, back-up, loads of room here.
 4.
Yes,telling fat people to lose weight is bigotry. How silly of me.
I suggest you look up bigotry in a dictionary and consider how it might apply to some of the posts on this ill-conceived thread. No, of course you''re right, silly of me to object to the OP and the various offensive and self-righteous diatribe against "fat" people that followed. I''ll join in: Oh wait, telling dumb people to think harder is a waste of bloody time. How silly of me...
 5.
"You can argue that perhaps it is mental health issues, or any other number of things but at the end of the day the majority of fat people I''ve had the pleasure of meeting have usually been that way because of diet and lifestyle. Anyone with exceptional circumstances is obviously not being targeted by my thoughts on this issue. So please, do not blame the club for your (poor) decision making." This sums it up with me. Unless theres other reasons, your weight is because of YOU. Don''t blame the club if they can''t fit you in their shirts (which look kind of ironic on a obese person anyway). The worst thing is people are going to think what I just said was offensive, but it''s true.
"The mind of a bigot is like the pupil of the eye; the more light you pour upon it, the more it will contract." Holmes, Oliver Wendell.
 6.
"You plainly do not go through life talking to people the same way you do on here." err, methinks rather different Yeah...yes, of course you do.but you carry on with your assumptions, if it helpsrather distract from the OP doesn''t itThe OP that asserts that anyone unable to buy an NCFC shirt to fit should take up jogging?Sure - I''ll take up jogging when you take up cognitive behavioural therapy.
7.
oh dear for someone who bleated - "well done, you''ve made an enormous assumption" you seem to be making enormous assumptions yourself as you have no idea what I say, to whom I say it and where outside of this forum but that would appear ok as you are a self proclaimed ''fatty'' so you are excused the normal standards of debate .... or so it seems that you choose to make this personal is your problem (ishooooooooooooo) but I would still say lighten up a bit ........... or perhaps not given the circumstances
No assumption. You plainly do not go through life talking to people the same way you do on here. The evidence for that is that you are still conscious.
 8.
"Seems to me that us "lazy fatties, lard-arses, gut-buckets" are now fair game......" only if they have a dirty great key in their back
Yeah, yeah...resort to the old "it''s just banter, bit of a wind-up, just kidding" ploy - you''ve used that one too many times before City1st. I had years of proper banter working offshore so I''m not the over-sensitive type or lack humour, but some of the stuff spouted in this thread is in no way humorous, just insulting and offensive - and most of it comes from your keyboard. No surprise there then.   I just really don''t like ignorant cowards who get their kicks being brave in the face of their own reflection in the monitor. If you''re going to try putting the world to rights, at least have the strength of conviction to say it to peoples faces when you have the chance, otherwise you''re just as flawed as you perceive them to be.    In the words of Delia "...where are you? Let''s be ''aving you!"  [;)]
 9.
That is all it comes down to with some of you isn''t it "Come and meet me and we''ll have a frank discussion about it." No, I''m good. This is the method in which we are having a discussion about it so please, either have the discussion or go away. My point is being fat is not a natural human state and it is a by-product of today''s world. Fast food, poor decision making and no one doing enough to make a change. Someone has to take responsibility and I''m arguing that if it isn''t the lazy slobs that are going to then it should be the things the lazy slobs pay attention to (The club). If you honestly can''t fit into pre-determined shirt sizes, then I hear jacomo is more than accommodating.... You can argue that perhaps it is mental health issues, or any other number of things but at the end of the day the majority of fat people I''ve had the pleasure of meeting have usually been that way because of diet and lifestyle. Anyone with exceptional circumstances is obviously not being targeted by my thoughts on this issue. So please, do not blame the club for your (poor) decision making.
That''s the point, you wouldn''t dream of talking to, patronising and insulting people face to face in the manner you are happy to do so on here...   As for your assertion that the majority of people you have met are that way because of diet and healthstyle - well done, you''ve made an enormous assumption and left it at that, but have you ever looked deeper than that rather than simply judging people by their appearance? I guess not.   I used to play football, box and also did body-building for years, and was in very good physical shape when young. As I got into my late thirties and forties I found my weight gradually increasing despite attempts to reverse it - it''s just not that easy for some people. I suffer from arthritis and another condition, sarcoidosis, which has affected my joints making it painful to exercise or even do the simple things sometimes. It''s hard. But you wouldn''t know about my problems, just like you don''t know about many others who you would be more than happy to judge based on your own misconceptions and ignorance.   Many people are simply more genetically disposed to put on weight - just as there are many who cannot put weight on if they try and are constantly underweight...but you wouldn''t so readily start telling someone to bulk up because they''re too damn skinny would you?   No, just easier to insult them lazy, greedy, fat people from the safety of your keyboard...   Seems to me that us "lazy fatties, lard-arses, gut-buckets" are now fair game for those who have moved on from other politically incorrect prejudices and stereotypes.   Whichever way you want to dress it up, it''s plain cowardice and bigotry. Personally, I find that far more repulsive.

 11.
"Bigots will always be bigots, even if they are forced to change their targets.... " Theres a lot of ad homs going around on this thread. I''m not discriminating against the obese, I''m saying that it''s better for everyone if they lost some weight.
What a stunning insight. If only alcoholics stopped drinking, smokers stopped smoking, gamblers stopped gambling etc...if only life were as simple as your views on the matter. The problem with that type of attitude is that it doesn''t take into consideration the individuals personal problems that may have lead to their obesity. You stated earlier that you were targetting those that "chose" to be fat. I cannot imagine many people actively made that decision, it is something that has gradually happened for all manner of different reasons...medical, physical, psychological, sociological and so on.I find some of the comments on hear - not just from you but others as well - ignorant and puerile at best. I expect it from City1st as there is barely a post he has made where he hasn''t displayed his own, well..personal issues, if only because I know the word seems to perversely infuriate him so. But some of the posters I wouldn''t have expected it from, as I''ve previously seen well thought out, rational posts from - yourself included..The reason I have taken this thread personally is because at 6''5" and 24 stone I would be one of the grotesquely offensive "fatties" spoken about. If anyone would like to meet me for a civilised but frank discussion on how I should be living my life despite not knowing my circumstances, I''m all yours.
 12. Incredible. The irony of a pack of spineless keyboard warriors spouting a load of ignorant, prejudistic and plain offensive rubbish in the name of improving society - by demonising a large (no pun intended) section of the population. Bigots will always be bigots, even if they are forced to change their targets....
 13.
Are some of you Norwich supporters or Hughton supporters? I am absolutely delighted LDC, as I know you are.
I''m a Norwich supporter, through thick and thin...and for my money staying up this season is a greater achievement than staying up last season. We had a lot of positive momentum last season after two promotions on the bounce with a squad of largely young and hungry players itching to prove a point under a great manager who had given us an incredible turnaround in fortunes since our relegation to L1.Then, all our positive momentum was reversed when PL walked away from us in dubious circumstances. At that point, whoever took on the job was on a hiding to nothing. However, the new managers remit was to avoid relegation this year, and this target has been achieved with one game to spare. For this, I extremely happy and thankful to the players, the board and the manager. It is a team game, and we lose as a team just as we win as a team...and the team includes all those involved in the footballing set up at NCFC...players, coaches, manager - everyone involved. It has been nerve-racking and very anxious at times, it''s been dour at times and also there''s been the outright embarrassments - but don''t forget the glorious wins and hard fought draws, they all count. It''s been a difficult season in a highly competitive Premier League, but at the end of it all, we''ve survived to fight for our place another year. This despite having to do it on very strict financial resources, lower than most of our competition. So today I''m very happy and very proud of everyone at NCFC - including our supporters. Next season we will hope to see progression and it all begins again for CH, the club and the support. But for now, I''m more than happy to credit Hughton and his team for reaching our main target - Job Done. [Y]
 14.
I am delighted for the supporters and the players - Norwich City remain a Premier League side and should go on to become established. Hughton has achieved his brief. But to evaluate Hughton''s abilities as manager off the back of one outstanding performance is frankly ridiculous and short sighted and typical of so many football supporter where redemption is ever present. Hughton''s hand was forced, just as his substitutions during the season were forced with the changes dictated by the opposition coach. He had no option today which does not make him a tactical genius. Why do people see him as a victim of circumstances when we lose 5 - 0 at Fulham and go on a winless streak but praise him when we win, you can''t have it both ways and the fact is he has dabbled with our survival and our patience with his insipid restrictive style and lack of imagination. Today was about the supporters and the players, not him. Hughton will now get a chance to take the job forward and spend some serious money on new players but he has a very long way to go and as it is in our interests that he succeeds because Norwich City will succeed and Norwich City is far more important than any manager.
? Doesn''t that equally apply to those blaming him for every loss but not giving credit when we win - like today? [:^)]
 15. I''m shocked and angered at the proposal to tax tall people. Why can''t oompa-loompas use some initiative and bring a booster cushion to the game; or in more severe cases a periscope? The club could sell officially licensed NCFC branded versions of said items to raise income, and to raise the supporters also.
 16. That''s a touching tribute Ricardo - I''m not ashamed to admit it brought a tear to my eye.Although we''ve never met, I almost feel like I knew you and Snowy from your match reports that I''ve read over the years...so I sincerely wish you well and back to your best soon. All the best old cock...

Do you find all those "lawn ornaments" who bring their fishing rods and wheel barrows get under your feet?[;)]
Yes. Little people can be quite a nuisance. [Z]Still, they''re kinda cute - funny little things scampering around all over the place. When their little faces are looking up to you don''t you feel all protective? It''s not always been that way mind you. I was once attacked by a gang of dwarves on Great Yarmouth sea front. I had a couple of bruises to the lower half of my body next day, but was otherwise OK though. [Y]

 20. Hello. My name is Andy and I am 6''5". [:$]In my defence, I haven''t always been tall, I was born quite short - but grew into it. It is selfish behaviour and I regret it, but wanted to get it off my chest.I would hang my head in shame, but it wouldn''t achieve much...all you short-a***ed munchkins behind still wouldn''t see past me. [:P]
 21. That''s very sad news Ricardo and I hope you''re coping with your loss. RIP Snowy.
 22. Mark Barkham! #ducks as dpit throws tea cup#
 23. My sincere apologies dpit. I did read both threads through quickly late last night - but didn''t take notes before posting. I won''t let it happen again - I''ll go sit on the naughty step and think about my behaviour. I hope there won''t be legal action? ;)
