1. You missed out playing Etuhu up fron as well as was so effective in the second half last weekend!!
2. Me too, but the question is would you do the same if you were playing for say Hull City? We support the club, so cannot imagine anything other than than that type of motivation. If it''s not a team you support, you can get away with it as there''s no real competition for your job and your contract is secure, you lost time for your boss/company you work for etc then you might not. I''m not condoning the players lack of efforts by the way, just observing that it''s like life in any company/organisation for them, but with added security of income too. Me - I''d do it for free if it got the team I love back on track, but my aged knees wouldn''t last as long as a tired Safri hamstring!
3. One designed to motivate his team, and play the PR game in advance in case they lose
4. I''m sorry - I too struggle with the concept of supporting the opposition no matter how much I might want to see a change in management. Last saturday at derby saw my VERY dedicated 12 year old son claiming boredom, and as a result we left with 5 minutes to go - something I haven''t done since we lost 6-0 to Man City back in Ken Brown''s early managerial days so that says how bad it was. I want a good performance to ensure his undoubted enthusiasm now doesn''t start to wane as other attractions/distractions start to come into his life, and whilst that might be the nett result of the change that we seek, we need somer short term tonic too. Guess you just get a high on trying to find the next controversial angle eh Wiz?!
5. I recall a Monday night trip to Oldham where a last minute Mark Robins winner took us back to the top of the Premiership. It''s not only our club whose star is a little tarnished than the past.
6. Great stuff - always knew Green ''n Yellow Day were closet City fans!
7. So in-form Reading suddenly disappear from the scene, and a c**p Norwich team suddenly emerge. Dream on I''m afraid - it won''t happen this season.
8. Delia will be found in Diss tomorrow night for a supporters roadshow? The question is who''s dissing who ?!!!
9. Drazen Muzinich - some conspiracy theorists say the real one never turned up and that we got an imposter!!
10.
I do have "spies" at colney and they tell me that not only did the "players" get Sunday off, but they were not in today either : . Never mind Worthy keeps saying he will sort it out on the pitch, hop...
Maybe the Colney no-shows has something to do with their inability to find the word "honesty" in the dictionary Nigel suggested they use!
11. There''s another one from Fleming on the official website too! Funny how it''s players who weren''t involved on Saturday. The sad thing about that inept performance was how many Wolves fans I''ve met this week (living here they are the main team) who were staggered and disappinted with our performance on saturday - they were expecting a really good game and couldn''t believe how inept and passionless we were compared to what they recall from previous visits and what they saw on Match of the day last season. Says more than the spinners can!
12. By my reckoning at least 6 of the current squad have captained the team at some point over the last 12 months, and 5 of them have been this season (Drury, Fleming, Hughes, Huckerby, Safri, Doherty). Have I missed any others? If this is not an indication of the lack of allies for Worthy in the dressing room, able to pass on his messages and mantra on the pitch then I''m not sure what is!!
13. I thought 99p wasn''t worth paying for the photograph either!!
14.
4 away games to come in the next 5 30 points from safety on current form we''d need 50 games to get those points Christmas is coming and we''re always poor over Chrimbo.
...and a trip[ to bramall Lane on Boxing day hardly fills me with hope that this years Christmas will be any different!!
15.
But why are they not playing for him , if you believe all the club spin and the message coming from the agm meeting we have a squad thats 100% behind the manager everybody is in this together, there ...
My understanding from the Dressing Room (before saturdays inept effort) is that the players are all totally and utterly fed up with the "situation", completely de-motivated and the bottom line is that respect for the manager (and therefore the will to respond to his urgings) has gone. I do agree with Worthy that in spite of this they should show respect for the mugs who pay their wages (at least that''s how it feels at the moment, speaking as someone who spends a full week a year behind the wheel of a car travelling to/from Norwich games). However it is now painfully clear that change is necessary for all parties to move on: the divide between Worthy and his players is in the public domain big-time now, and at that point you have to "fish or cut bait" as an old boss of mine used to say. Let''s hope that the next fortnight provides the breathing space between fixtures to allow the necessary talking and action to occur.
16. Some other appropriate literature also comes to mind: Paradise Lost (or "why we only had one season in the Premiership) The Ancient Mariner (who shot that albatross at Colney?) Bleak House (an alternative name for Carrow Road) Julius Caesar ( when Worthy leaves will he be heard to cry "et tu Delia?") To Kill a Mockingbird (what has happened to Captain Canary this season?) Pride and Prejudice (aka loyaty to our manager) Great Expectations (what we all had in early August this year)
17. One of the most amusing moments last night was seeing JJ tell Huckerby that HE was going to take the corner as Darren (bless) had earlier seen his effort once again fail to clear the man at the near post! JJ did play better, made a few good runs into space, but still looked a yard short of fitness to me - hopefully that will come with playing and confidence as we certainly need him to be near the top of his game once saf goes to the Africa Nations cup.
18. Any resignation will only be "by mutual consent" - meaning a pay off has been agreed as part of a compromise agreement.
19. The 200 mile journey home from Carrow Road - after a great result and performance!!! It seems like 15 minutes instead of 15 hours, listening to 606, basking in some limelight (Man Utd at home last season, Birmingham at home last season and the belief that it might just prove to be a miracle, Wigan at home the season before and virtually guaranteeing promotion, and even further back Southampton at home in the FA Cup 1/4 finals - winning in extra time - and a never to be forgotten night against Bayern Munich too). What odds a "short" journey tomorrow night??!
20. A couple of weeks back ( I recall) he was being talked up as being ready for action once the International break was over, but now seems to be noticabvly absent. Has he encountered further set-backs? How far away from a recovery is he? Does anyone know?
21.
Its hard to klnow how to take the second half ''improvement''. Independent reports suggest Luton took their foot off the gas rather than us stepping up our play - Newell is quoted as stating that his p...
There seem to be several managers and other Boards of Directors saying we are the best team they''ve played - after having taken 3 points off us! Easy to be gracious in victory - much less forthcoming in defeat. We were poor last night, it is depressing watching (especially with the amount of driving home time we have to contemplate it all) and we paid the price of completely switching off against an in-form side buzzing with confidence (inspite of a defeat at Crewe at the weekend). When are we going to beat any side above us and playing well with a full compliment of players?
22. Why should we assume we''ve a right to get something out of the QPR and Cardiff games - both sides are above us in this league, and one with a game less played! The reality is that we have only beaten some particularly poor sides (and drawn with a few as well), and as soon as we have played an in-form side (Reading, Luton, Leeds) they have managed to turn us over one way or another. With Birmingham also out of form then that may be our best chance of some respite - a local one for me and only a quid for the kids too!
23. I think the fact that in the BBC piece he even states his preferred loan move would be a return to Portaloo Rd emphasises his loyalties - he won''t come to us I''m afraid. Now Michael Brown would be a good addition - but how many loanees from one club can you have at any one time? Are there not rules on this?
24. I suspect there might just be a little banter in his direction this Saturday!!
