1.
100% support you on this, 1st T. Palace chairman, Simon Jordan, wrote an excellent piece in the Observer last week on this very topic. I don''t like Jordans media persona, but he can talk a lot of sense! He referred to Alan Pardew, in particular, and how he has been forced to apologise at least twice in recent years, after talking to the press about another teams players. Mandaric & Redknapp are both past masters of this game and deserve to be shunned. Unfortunately, if they''re the only ones at the table with money - and Green wants to go - we may have little choice!
Don''t like Jordan either, but a good article on one of the biggest problems in the game. I have no bad feelings towards greeno movng on - he owes us nothing, but only hope that he doesn''t jump at the first opportunity which might not prove to be the best. Would YOU want to work for Harry? I can spit backwards further than I''d trust him!
2.

Will be at both games, but based on past experience of both grounds, the atmosphere is better at Burnley than at preston - partly because its an older stand and we''re closer to the home support (who are great in the banter stakes) and we''re more likely to win. That said all that Gazza says about Preston is right, but it''s one of the tallest stands i''ve sat at the back of which makes for disappointing acoustics and occasional vertigo, but it is generally more comfortable (old wooden seats at Burnley - posh plastic ones at Preston) so it depends what aspect of football you want to sell her.
Shropshire, if you think you get vertigo at Preston, what would you make of Bramall Lane, or indeed did you go to St James Park?  Scary indeed!
Quite agree about both of those Gazza - especially St James as you''re on the corner which adds an even worse perspective to it all!
3. Showing my age a bit I suspect, but a 4-1 win at leicester in 1982 when it was us or them for the 3rd promotion spot, a 2-0 win at Anfield a season later (Martin O''Neill from 35+ yards), along with his last minute winner at Portaloo Rd for a 3-2 Boxing Day triumph the same season, a 4-0 win at St Andrews around the same time courtesy of messrs deehan and Bertschin, (especially as I has Corbiere in the grand national on the same day), winning the Milk Cup in ''85 (well it was away awsn''t it), definitely an away day in Munich and the following seasons revenge at Blackburn (3-2 having lost 7-1 the season before) and pinching myself as we won 4-0 at Leeds with Gossy''s goal of the century. In more recent times 5-3 at Burnley and the 2-0 at Watford in promo season (especially as I''m now enjoying the memories with my son) and best premier day out was the hope that the early season 2-2 comeback at Newcastle gave. Thank goodness for the memories eh - it''s what keeps me sane amidst some of the dross!!

5.
Newport, Shropshire
Hey Salopian, so am I!!!!
6.
I''ve seen the scan/x-ray/piece of paper the doctor doodled on when he gave Greeno his sick-note...   Seriously though, if he was concussed after that incident I very much doubt whether he''ll be playing against Argyle for medical reasons - not sure what the ruling is on this but I know that if you''re knocked out in Rugby you HAVE to take time off for recovery....
The same applies to jockeys so I can''t see greeno playing on Sat - leading (no doubt) to more fevered speculation!
7. A lot better than I had feared from Jarrett - especially if he doesn''t really want to be here: now is the chance to prove us all wrong though. Etuhu played well enough (certainly much better than the preston game), and there was more of the stuff that led to our goal at leicester from him. I''d describe it in one word no more, no less - encouraging.
8. The guy managed to pull all the strings that undid our sorry performance at Pride park last month - would be a great creative foil to Safri imo, even if only as part of our play-off push this year or promotion push next: which let''s be honest is what we ought to looking to build for.
9. and to think that when PNE last visited FCR for our title-winning party he nearly spoiled the day - as well as giving Malky such a runaround in terms of pace that it may well have been the final nail in his canaries career coffin! just goes to show the gambles of the transfer market - and that form is not permanent!
10. Birmingham NEED Sutton - and for the rest of this season only so residual value is of no interest: hence the deal works Our situation is different, and unless Aston is a definite departee this month our need is much more for a longer term partner/alternative dependant on where we are next season. Great great memories of this guy, but I think there is a danger of sentiment before business sense here.
11. Malky got a great reception when we went to West ham last season, and he got likewise when we went to Watford earlier this. It will be exactly the same on the 21st: and he deserves it too. I too wonder if 3 successive promotions from the same league is some kind of a record?
12. But with an inform front 3 of McVeigh, Ashton and Hucks working as well as they did on Sat who would you drop? If nothing else leon''s return may well be the impetus and competition that keeps the mercurial McVeigh focussed - and while leon gets back to full fitness then 15-20 minute sub run-arounds will be ideal. Just as long as squizz doesn''t get shoved back to right midfield now Hughes is injured as that will kill the rekindling flame of efforthe seems to be finally showing: perhaps that psychologist has got to him too!
13. Surely the fact that Saf is quoted as being pleased with the extension etc means that he has agreed to it and/or is happy with it? Unless we distrust the spin machine that much of course...!
14. A balanced outlook on life, sense of priority and maybe a greater understanding of commitment are likely to be qualities acquired in a family breadwinner role rather than as a lone wolf. That said I think that the ability to get a group of individuals to gel is what''s really in question here, and that comes down to creating an atmosphere and (although I hate the word in an organisational sense) culture. There are many of these, and plentty of positive ones that can work in different situations and with different groups of people. Good managers are able to change their style (as appropriate - never in total) in order to bring in the group at hand, in which case the family thing shouldn''t be the b all and end all of it. I wonder how the management (and players) might define the culture at City these days - and how it might compare with that which one could get such a good feel of from Iwan''s autobiography?
15. Good and understandable rant - but when he''s come on as a right back sub this season Flemo HAS done ok, so you can sort of understand why Worthy might pick him over Charlie who hasn''t when he''s played (albeit completely out of position in midfield). My only hope is that Doc stays right side as the plan must surely be to work Shackell back in asap - we''ll know the answer to that one come 3.00 on Saturday though.
16. Branna, Charlton and Gallagher will be let go. With McVeigh it all depends on how he performs over the next couple of months, whether HE wants to stay working for a man he obvioulsy doesn''t get on with and whether his attempt to move last summer (he was on the dreaded transfer list remember) has shown him that the grass may not be that much greener elsewhere.
17. To me Deano has blown hot and cold this season, but I''m really not sure I can fault his overall effort. Ther have been plenty of games where he has run his legs off through sheer frustration at the total lack of endeavour around him, and as a consequence service he''s been getting - QPR and Luton away both come to mind. I think he started the season with a minor injury, hasn''t been fully fit all along, has seen the side struggle around him and his form has suffered by association - but I''d still rather have him here than not, as when (not if, because it''ll happen at some point) the overall mix of our side get''s right he will bang the goals in again. His biggest problem though is his demeanour - he comes across as a loner, quiet, slightly introspective at times (aren''t many great talents?) and as a result LOOKS as if he doesn''t care, whilst I suspect that there is a big heart and a real thinking brain inside. It''s this demeanour that get''s up peoples noses, especially when his and our form is struggling as it is. Remember he''s also only just 21 so still learning big-style: rather that attitude than Rooney''s imo.
18.
Sadly unless we reached this fabled corner, that we have allegedly turned 8 times already this season,  I can only see 5 points from the next 5 games as our inconsistency continues.   Ironically, and knowing city, our sole win will be agaist sheff utd!
So true - especially as it''s the only one we won''t be able to go to!!
19. This is exactly how I would suggest things will play themselves out. We will continue to win/draw enough to keep us around 15th in the table, be mathematically safe come mid-late April and during the summer a complete re-assessment will take place by the Board and orty (as an individual) and the change will happen in June.
20. Pretty concerning to resort to PR urges to get him to sign. His parents are bound to be an influence, and maybe they are a little frustrated y Ryan''s lack of progress into the first team from being the great white hope of 3 years ago - albeit his injury troubles this season may well have come at the wrong time for him opportunity wise. Let''s hope he signs - would be bad news to see what potential that the Academy produces drift off elsewhere: along with our star player exodus forecast for january it may well leave a bleak looking future of Robinsons and Jarretts ahead!!
21. That''s exactly the point - an unbeaten spell is what we now need - win or draws all welcome in this camp as it provides something to build on (especially confidence) and takes more of the present furnace like heat out of the "situation" (to coin a word if not a phrase). Our problem away from home has been just that - too many defeats and not enough draws to patch a run of any sort together.
22. The actual point of the post/thread was to ascertain whether 4 draws as opposed to 1 win 1 draw and 2 defeats might have made anyone feel any differently than they have done over the last few weeks of away games only? I certainly made no suggestion that we were on play-off form. Sometimes not losing can be pschologically better than the mixture of results we''ve had, so I simply wondered if people felt there might have been less heat if we''d had say four 2-2 draws which would have resulted in the same points. Having been to 3 of the games I know how I might have felt after a couple of them, but then again there''s more of a sense of relief after last Saturday than I suspect there might have been if it had been a 4th consecutive draw. As ever in life it''s all a question of perspective.
23. ...against sides below us when we began the sequence, and we''ve ended up with 4 points. There''s been plenty of excitement, disappointment, anger, frustration and a hint of relief on the way and the end result is 4 points. How would we have felt if it had been 4 draws as opposed to what happened? Would it have made any differenence? Might have been a bit calmer on here!!
24. I''d have Chippy back in a coaching capacity tomorrow (even if we aren''t changing manager etc) and I''d even take theplunge on him coming back as manager too. One of the best passers I''ve seen at City, intelligent and would certainly get the right style of play back in the thinking. Great timing of the article, and stranger PR webs have been spun than this one.
