  1. Good debate. I genuinely don’t mean to be facetious but what examples are you thinking of here Shef? I can certainly remember misplaced passes that give rise to chances but game changing mistakes? I’m struggling to come up with more than a couple and they were ages ago - I can’t even remember the specifics. As for game changing moments well there have been a number already in this calendar year and two in the Stoke game.
  2. I’d agree with that. He’s not ready to return yet for me and remains to be seen if he can get back to the player he was. Be such a shame if he ended up leaving at the end of the season because of that injury.
  3. He gave it away for me when he made a fuss about someone using the word “issues” in the wrong context. Something Bill was forever doing.
  4. I’m absolutely with you but we already have Duffy, Giannoulis, Rowe, Onel, and Hanley out. Another 3 or 4 would be unbelievably unlucky. Hopefully with the international break coming up we should have more bodies available rather than less. Duffy for a start.
  5. Underrated - Gunn Overrated - Hanley
  6. So no mention of Gibson on that injury update then? I was worried he might have picked up something after he went off at half time against Rotherham. Guess that was a precaution then....
  7. Some great posts on this thread. For me personally it’s difficult to put my finger on why some of the buzz and enthusiasm has left me these last few years but I think it comes down to this. When we had Farke here I felt like we played some of the best football I’d ever seen our club play, beautiful football, the togetherness, last gasp wins and record totals in points and goals. And yet, even then, we were nowhere near good enough to survive in the EPL. Twice. It left me with a real downer that whatever we do we are never going to be good enough to take that next step. If that great feeling we had with Farke ended up in abject PL failure then whatever will happen to the current crop if we do go up through the playoffs. I know it’s not all as simple as that, PL physicality just didn’t suit Farke’s style etc, but I truly believe there is a long hangover still here from those two relegations and that playing a more pragmatic style simply underlines that feeling.
  8. Everyone seems clear about it but I thought it was two straight reds for the extra game suspended, not two yellows. I guess I’ve got it wrong then. 🙁
  9. Wasn’t Sainz’s previous sending off for two yellows? I thought this 4 match ban thing was for two straight reds. I could certainly be wrong as Goggleing the rules only brings up waffle on about Premier League.
  10. Think you’re being a little previous to be honest. I thought Hwang was really poor when he first played but he gradually improved until he was average. SVH could yet do the same.
  11. Might be my memory playing tricks so be intersting if someone could correct me if I'm wrong but in those days didn't we start the song from "One the Ball City" rather than "Kick it Off"? Can't hear the earlier part on the link above. I always thought the lengthening of it to include the earlier part was why it ended up being sung more quickly.
  12. Good for him. About time he gave some back. Booing when we are winning, wtf! Embarrassing.
  13. It was probably Bill. He always liked an issue……
  14. Have an off field timekeeper who stops the clock when the ball is not in play - reduce the length of the halves to compensate. There would be no point time wasting any more nor this silly arbitrary minimum injury time on the refs discretion. The off field clock shown so the crowd know exactly how long there is left.
  15. Absolutely brilliant. What fight from Maidstone and two top goals. Ha bloody hahaha😁
  16. Really harsh to call that pass a big mistake. Kenny often tries ambitious passes. Sometimes they don't come off. We complain that we play too safe as a team and yet when one of our midfielders tries spmething more attacking he gets slated for "a big mistake" when it gets intercepted.
  17. Thought he did very well. No way was Gibson’s challenge a pen. Definitely got a foot to the ball.
  18. It’s not an easy situation for him as whatever he says is likely to be ripped to shreds but I’m afraid he, or another senior person, simply has to say something to try and stop the obvious disconnect between the club and the support. No organisation can be successful when it is disunited. A club like ours is massively more likely to progress when we are all pulling together. You only have to look at the Lambert and Farke years to know that is true. He doesn’t even have to say anything that specific. Just that he is aware that things need to change, ask for patience while the club works through the process and say how valued the support base is. Won’t please everyone but a huge percentage will give him that leeway. Saying nothing feels like doing nothing and really isn’t an option.
  19. It’s interesting that several are saying let Knapper get on with the important jobs. Communication can wait. To me communication with your fan base is absolutely vital, right up there, particularly in a support led business like a football club. Even more so when there is an apparent disconnect like there is at the moment. To move forward we need to all pull together, the club and the fans. Never has there been a successful club when the team and fans aren’t pulling together. An interview giving an idea of how he thinks things need to change, how much the support is valued, asking for support and patience could hardly hurt could it?
  20. Good stuff. Forgot the old TV gantry in the River End corner. Used to stand in that as a kid when it wasn't being used when we could get away with it.
  21. No sorry, wracked my brains and I can’t think of a single negative thing….. 👍😄
