  1. Under McNally we managed to find undervalued players domestically. And clubs still manage to do this now. Pilkington and Bennett were signed from League One when we were in the Premier League. For some reason Webber has always been averse to shopping in the lower leagues. McNally then left us with the gift of Godfrey from League Two and Maddison from League One. One of the biggest 4-6 sides in this league will have Connor Chaplin off of Ipswich if they fail to win promotion this season.
  2. To keep this lot + Rupp + Lees Melou + Rashica off the bottom of the Premier League. That's quite difficult to get your head around in hindsight isn't it. Can't remember if Webber said that Farke had the 'tools' or had the 'weapons', but it has made Webber look like a tool and a weapon. We've had two seasons without a defensive midfielder (two respective sick notes on loan), and I'm not convinced that we currently have a Championship level left back on the books. Is Webber really the man to embark on this rebuild?
  3. We've got no option but to sell Aarons in the summer, as he is entering the last year of his deal. Sell Sara though and we need Chase era style protests. We should already be having them for the failure to extend Onel's contract, I hope that the yanks know that unveiling that as their first act would be good optics and that its already on the table.
  4. No we don't, don't be silly. We need to do what Norwich have always done, and find good players on the cheap, and if Webber can't do that he needs to f*ck off. Middlesbrough paid £2.5m for Akpom, Coventry paid £1.2m for Gyokeres, Tella is on loan at Burnley, Carlton Morris cost Luton £2m, Millwall paid £1m for Bradshaw. Meanwhile Pukki cost us £0. So why do we need to spend £20m on a striker? Silly talk. What we need is a recruitment team and Sporting Director who can find some gems somewhere, whether that's Webber or somebody else.
  5. I don't expect to see a £30m cash injection. Its time for Webber to show he can use the bargain basement again. The free agent list, Bundesliga 2. He's going to have to find a way to assemble a team here, this current one is a mess. Lets not forget he sacked Farke for not being able to win games in the Prem with this bunch, f*ck me.
  6. I would hope that we'd have scouts compiling lists of Germans out of contract in the summer to be honest. We could do worse than to take a punt on a load of Germans again to compliment our kids, the grit and determination of the likes of Trybull, Stiepermann, Zimmermann, would rather watch that then this sh*t any day of the week, whether we're 15th or 5th. It isn't even that we're sh*t, we've not got enough real men in the team, no warriors. Look at young AO coming on and throwing himself in front of anything and everything like he's Terry Butcher in a cup final. See a bit of that in Gibbs now and again too, so lets get him bedded in, start him every week. Lets start with AO and Gibbs. Oh and give McCallum the rest of this season to try and impress, I don't really rate McCallum but the Greek is a write off and must be costing us a f*cking fortune, and at least McCallum can win balls in the air. AO, Gibbs, McCallum, start them all, for the rest of the season, blood them for next year. Get Rowe involved too.
  7. Well a sh*t load will come off next seasons wage bill here (subject to finding clubs willing to take the ones under contract): Krul, Pukki, Hayden, Byram, Gibson, Hanley, Giannoulis, Placheta, McGovern, Marquinhos, McCallum. Rashica, Sorenson, can all get off the wage bill.
  8. Unfortunately he is 33 in a couple of weeks. He isn't "off the pace", this just is his pace now. Happens to them all. Pukki this season is like Robert Fleck in his second spell. Pukki two years ago was like Fleck in his first spell. Should just go and do a couple of years in Finland and score a sh*t load for HJK where he'll be hero worshipped.
  9. Oh plenty of teams would want Hanley. The ones who play with their backs to the wall for three quarters of the game, sitting deep and parking the bus soaking up balls into the box. Warnock would have him. But he's not suited to a team which is expected to dominate possession.
  10. Too many damaged goods, a bit of deadwood, a few who will never be good enough, and a few past their best. Lets face it, we need to just focus on blooding a few youngsters now, give Rowe and Gibbs a few starts, AO needs to start every game. And lets finally accept that "one more year" for Pukki might not be a good idea. Unfortunately he's a spent force. We need a good 12+ players out, for Webber to rediscover his 2017-2018 era head for a bargain, and for us to finally sign a permanent f*cking defensive midfielder with a clean injury record. Krul, Pukki, Hayden, Byram, Gibson, Hanley, Giannoulis, Placheta, McGovern, Marquinhos, McCallum. Rashica, Sorenson, can all get off the wage bill. Dowell depends whether his wages fit a 20 starts a season profile really. Idah, season long loan to League One please. Oh, and, 3 year deal for Onel immediately If the heirarchy can't see he's our best winger then he's too good for us, about 20 of the other 23 teams in this league would take him on a free.
  11. That might be a blessing in disguise, he's been dreadful. Step forward Johnathan Rowe!
  12. How many time as AO saved us in this half. He needs to be the first name on the team sheet for every game remaining this season.
  13. His time has come, his contract length was spot on. Happens to the best of them. I mean, unless he fancies staying on the cheap and spending a lot of time on the bench. Clearly we need to free up his wages for the rebuild. And then I remember that we've given Idah a 5 year contract, and the idea or Pukki leaving, even this post-peak Pukki, still fills me with a bit of dread.
  14. I do wonder whether clubs are reluctant to take a punt on Max Aarons because none of Lewis, Murphy I, Murphy II or Angus Gunn (post-loan) lived up to their hype after 8 figure moves. Can't help but feel that we benefitted some what from the James Maddison revelation in some of our subsequent transfer business, now too many clubs feel burnt by our fees.
  15. Warnock teams aren't typically thrashed though and always put up some sort of fight, no matter how devoid of quality. Huddersfield have the look of a side that have had a rocket up their a*rses at half-time. EDIT: FFS, my stream behind. That was coming.
  16. They've had the double whammy of the price of a pint of bitter going up in today's budget.
  17. Not only did he retire with the unluckiest injury ever, he also scored just 1 goal for us but I've never known a player to hit the post and bar so much. I'm sure he must have hit the woodwork a dozen times that season, at that was just the home games, I didn't do the away games that year! Unluckiest player ever!
  18. Hope he impresses there and it gives Sargent the number 9 shirt for the rest of the season.
