1. I did tell him that, but as I said he was very overbearing and obviously got into my psyche. When are you going to start having a pop?[;)]
2. It''s LOL (sorry, Lol''s) way of having a pop at Camuldonum for posting his occasionally weird links on here. Quite amusing although Cam''s did usually have some relevance to NCFC rather than just some random bloke called Jamie! We could go with Jamie caught cooking the books...http://www.jamieoliver.com/recipes?But that''s just not football [:)]
3. Thanks for the replies so far. I''m particularly chuffed that you approved Scott [;)]Possibly some of the issues last time were down to my frame of mind. I was feeling melancholy I suppose and I apologise if that read as pomposity to some. So ta for giving me another go.Thanks Fatty - the links were to make the ''blog experience'' as interactive as it can be on here. I appreciate it''s not ideal but I wanted to try to make things a bit different. I blame ''plow'' on an incredibly overbearing American I once knew in Another World - he''d bang on about how ''plow'' in the sense I meant it here was actually right for old English as opposed to ''plough'' and I guess, subconciously, it must have stuck?!
4. Our shirt sponsor, Aviva, is in place for the next two seasons after this - I''d suggest that if they go bust there will be a whole lot more to worry about than finding some squares of yellow fabric to cover up the name [;)]You''re right though, although I expect clubs with expiring deals have been looking to tie someone else in for a while now the summer is going to be interesting. I''ll be looking out to see how transfer fees hold up (or don''t) compared to previous recent seasons.
5. You really are a classic Wiz.Last week you "detested" me and this week you "despise" Delia. Are you moving on to E''s next month?
6. Thanks Scott!I seem to remember someone once telling me the only rule is that if you''re not prepared to get shot at don''t put your head above the parapet (you can add that to the cliche list if you like [;)]) It''d be worse if people weren''t reading it from my point of view, but they are.
7. So do I win the prize for the most dissected piece ever to appear on the Pink Un?I''m only askin''...
8. So it''s fine for various posters to (rather insalubriously) state that I have my head up various Board member''s bottoms, but if I counter that I''m branded as childish and unworthy of reasonable debate?OK.Then I''m a feminist? That really is out of left field. No bra burning going on anwhere near me I''m afraid, I mean do you know how much a decent AP number costs???Astrodyne - yes, to an extent that is what I think. Thanks Canary Chica and everyone else who has commented (good or bad from my perspective). I appreciate your time.
9. It''s ok ''Nuff'', I''ve heard worse [;)] And I was annoyed that I couldn''t find a link anwhere on the interweb to the Jegsy Dodd song/poem. It really is wonderful in it''s despair! If I could type fast enough I''d transcribe it but the scouse delivery would be missing and that makes it all the more poignant.Mr Carrow - the answer is ''yes'', quite definitely.Phil - thanks.Budapest - that sounds like my kind of novel but where do you stop to breathe?WI people - how very original to slate the work of a woman by throwing that one in. I''m impressed...
10. Yes.My family originate from Parma and Piacenza so the other side of the country to you. It''s glorious up there in the mountains, why they ever emigrated to London I''ll never understand! If they''d stayed I could have my own olive farm now [;)]
11. All goes to show how people take you if you don''t conform to the immediacy of the black and white attitude that the Big Bad Club is constantly and purposefully out to deceive, mislead and swindle all us fans out of our right to European footie every year I suppose. Yep, that''d make me a ''Board lover''!Gazzathegreat, decent debate is the stuff of life - it''d be a sad and very dull world if we were all the same and I''ve enjoyed your posts on the offy site very much. You always make for good reading even if, as you say, we don''t usually agree with each other. (btw it took about 15 minutes this morning, putting the links in using html was more time consuming than the writing!)Thanks for reading though to all who have and thanks for the emails too from a surprising number of people [:)]
12. ...and if all else fails Pete, you could try this:http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2009/mar/13/sony-france-boss-hostageThe French really know something when it comes to industrial disputes![:)]
13. As far as I can see it''s been a case of getting the three of them up to fitness (Gow, Mooney & Cody). None have exactly been putting in the matchday miles this season at this level so this may have been the earliest Gunny could effectively play them for considerable periods in the case of the first two.On the Killen point, it''s not entirely unusual for a player on loan to train with his home team during the week. Especially where there are large distances involved. Having said that, on the basis of what I''ve seen of Killen in the reserves and snippets of first team games it would take a lot more than training days to get him up to speed!
14. Ooops!Sorry - I got myself all involved in reading some of the other threads![;)]I''ll be off when I''m finished...
15. Err, sorry Guy Gibson''s dog - do I know you?
16.

NCISA has about 400 members - so about 100 people responded. That''s a very low ''turn out'' and surely makes it tricky to extrapolate any kind of statistics for what the majority/minority of fans think. (It might be down to apathy or incorrect contact details, or emails not getting through due to spam filters...who knows?) Personally I''d say it also demonstrates how ineffective NCISA has become as a voice for fans if these are the kind of numbers we''re talking about out of a potential 30-40,000 people (STs, members and just casual fans).
It could be that some people didn''t get the questionnaires because they may have moved house since they joined NCISA years ago or maybe some of the email addys were out of date. Also are the 400 members all paid up members?
This is old ground CA.The 400 are currently paid up.Why on earth do people think that we would include lapsed members as currently active and fully paid up. If you also recall the other night i made an announcement that there was a clipboard being passed around during the meeting so that members could ensure we have current up to date e-mail addresses etc. As for your comments Jetstream whilst appreciating that your other half is not a fully paid up member of the John Tilson fan club she is after all a NCISA member but was not in attendance the other night.Still having read her posts on here and other websites and listening to input at SCG meetings i suspect that your household will still be receiving christmas cards from the Chairman and Chief Executive.
John, I''m sorry you missed me on Thursday. Unfortunately (although perhaps not for me) I had a work event to attend which had far more call on my presence - not all of life revolves around this football club you know! I''m not sure when my membership of NCISA lapses - it may already have done - but rest assured it won''t be being renewed. You can read my input however you like (and you will) but there is a huge difference between stamping your feet til you''re red in the face and dealing with issues in a formulated, pragmatic and understanding manner, dealing with reality. I choose the latter course of action because it makes sense to me and I know exactly what I achieve by that.As for the christmas cards, I can only assume that they have always gone the way of many of the NCISA questionnaires. I''ll blame the Royal Mail and try not to lose any sleep over it.I would say that I''ll look forward to one of your witty retorts but as I only visit this forum occassionally I imagine it will be a lot of page clicks back when I next log on, but then as you usually say to others "you do like to get the last word".
17. "Rubbished"?Not sure I get what you''re on about (or how relevant it is to the thread).
18. *Sigh*I imagine the ''Board loving'' insult gets chucked at anyone with more than half a brain who has a realistic view of football and the knowledge to back up what they say with facts rather than rumour mongering and club bashing with the luxury of anonymity?''Demented'' is a new one on me though Fist Wizard. Keep it up chap, you''ll be original one day.
19. Incredible isn''t it?I know posters on message boards sometimes get told to pull their necks in, but ''craning'' during a match?!You''ve got to feel for the ''Boro fans though. Possibly the best owner a club could ask for but with less than zero to get excited about in any 9 out of 10 seasons. Football is the release of the common man/woman. There''s nowhere else I (for example) can behave like an unbridled 8 year old and the day you''re told to be quiet in the ground, for whatever reason, is the beginning of the end.Sing up ''Boro fans; sing up because your team needs you!
20. Absolutely - how dare this sad old woman put millions into our club every year! How very dare she!!!For goodness sake, be as angry as you like about where we are (lord knows I am) but insulting and admonishing the only person who stands between us and that football stadium in the sky is not the way to go about things really, is it?
