1. Has anyone any insights about the recent supporters meeting? Any points of discussion worth, erm, discussing?
2. This was the summation from the BBC in January: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/25755711 (sorry - I''m rubbish at working links) In effect, what Cortese did for Saints was right along the lines of what Dave Brailsford did for the British & Sky cycling teams. Liebherr Sn bought right into his philosophy (that''s why they worked so well together), Liebherr Jr didn''t. All Katharina Liebherr has wanted since inheriting the club is a sale - perhaps by selling it piecemeal, in her world, she''s onto a winner. This is all very sad from any football fan''s perspective, surely. This was perhaps the one big throw of a foreign owner''s dice that looked like it would work - in it for the long haul and working towards glory as opposed to just buying it. Only once again it''s turned into "be careful what you wish for"... With both the main men (Cortese and Pochettino) gone and a ridiculously depleted squad it''ll certainly be interesting to see what happens over the next few months. Still, that''s football...
3. Have any of the players given it that wonderful line since Tuesday promising a "reaction"?
4.
There is only one thing this club needs right now. One, very simple thing. And that is, to WIN a game of football. That means the entire club, players staff and fans focussing only on that objective. Yes that is what Hughton said and in this case he''s right. There''s all sorts of sh(t flying around and distractions, none of which help. If you''re an outer it ought to be a win win situation for you because if we win, we move well up the table and level on points with Hull, if we lose Hughton is gone. Unless of course you don''t want another 3 points and to move up the table. Every win from here on in is going to be absolutely critical and 3 prescious points. The chances of 3 points being the difference between survival and relegation this season are VERY VERY HIGH. Anyone who wants us to loose on Saturday is wishing this situation upon us and needs to wake the f**k up. And incidentally, the OP attemping to congratulate and thank people for saying they would rather we loose is utterly ridiculous. "May I thank you and congratulate you for agreeing with me" Hilarious! It''s just an opinion - you don''t get congratulated for having an opinion one way or the other.
This ^ Sorry - was that too congratulatory ;~) We ALL need a win and a well played match to remind us this is football - a game we love - not something anyone should feel so terribly embittered by.
5. The cynic in me says he''s waiting to be sacked & compensated before taking up a new position. I doubt the Cobblers would be keen on paying us compensation. What a horrible mess this all is ;~(
6. I recall a time, before he went "down the road", when some were calling for Paul Jewell to be our saviour. I think he''s available now too...
7. I''ve always felt the missed opportunity on the opening day of the 2004 season to actually beat them instead of a 1-1 draw is what relegated us that season. From that, day one, the writing was on the wall. That''s it really - missed opportunities ;~(
8. What John said ^If you go, and you put your hand up to ask a question you''ll generally be awarded the opportunity of asking it at either event."Known shareholders" is a myth. Sadly it''s just sometimes only the same characters who dare speak. But hey, let''s perpetuate the myth if we can, eh?
9. Why would one buy Shane Long?To stop someone else buying him.Simple as that.Oh - and quality on the bench if you need the back-up.
10. Ahhh...Of course - Purple Canary, the font of all knowledge [:P]The same font that I''m sure will tell you that what someone says to the press, especially when someone is on the rabble-rousing trail, is always "FACTS!!!!!"Still, it''s silly-season. There''s nowt else to talk about so let''s do the Cullum thing one more time [:|][;)]
11. He offered precisely nothing for the Club. The "offer" was for £20million over three years as ''investment'' and if it didn''t work (how he wanted it to) he walked away a free man AND the Club would owe him that money (to be repaid immediately) plus any other debt accrued under the PC board.
12. For the 17,328th time...Peter Cullum never offered £20million for the Club.
13. Rest in peace, Ben.An absolutely lovely lad for whom nothing was too much trouble and always a friend for those in need. For you: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fZOW8ZuLG2o
14. I often read a forum about surround sound & quadrophonics. This place is a field of daisies in comparison.
15. I find myself viewing the phrase "Our club is run rather like a co-operative..." is a more cynical light every time it''s trotted out. Who one earth came up with that doozy?NCFC is not "rather like" a co-operative in any sense of the word especially as a noun!If anyone can explain how it is I''d love to hear it...
16.
Some fine journalism for Nigel Pickover here http://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/how_i_met_town_s_mystery_magnate_marcus_1_163661 something for all young writers to aspire to.
"The Big M..."Oh dear.I feel quite ill after that discerning insight. All a bit creepy really.Anyway, I''d like to know if, in appointing one editor for the two Archant Norwich titles, there are plans to combine the EDP and the Evening News.Somehow I expect the reply to be fudge.
17. It''s no help at all I know but the way I read it, coming from an Argentinian, is that he wants to play in Europe (the place) rather than the cup competitions. If he meant the competitions he would have said that. I just asked an Argentinian friend what he thought the statement meant and he agreed - the guy wants to stay here not go back there. As I said, probably no help at all...[:S]
18.

If true I find this disappointing on so many levels...
At least one of which would have to be that Purple would have therefore spelled "his own" username wrong in the opening sentence... [;)]
Yes.That''s one.Still, spelling isn''t always his strong point...Anyway, Purple or not, alter egos are so ridiculously pathetic - from anyone.
19. If true I find this disappointing on so many levels...
20.
and you cap it all with a doctored version of "Andy''s Chest" by Lou Reed. [D]
That''s been my signature for about 4 years now! You''re the first one to notice (or I really don''t post much anymore [;)])
21. Hello!I don''t post much on here any more but have had a quick look around today.Just wanted to point out a couple of things (may have been mentioned elsewhere and if so, sorry, I got a bit lost with a few threads [:S]):1) On 16th September last season, after 4 matches, we had 2 points. I think it''s only reasonable to give this squad at least that amount of time to prove themselves*2) Have some forgotten how awful we were for the last third of last season? After that dismal cup loss to Leicester we only won 3 games from 13 and racked up a massive 12 points. The formation and tactics were questionable to say the least, but hey, we had the managerial messiah so who cares?3) As I understand it a large chunk of our Premier League money is due to creditors under the renegotiated loan terms for both last and this season - that may be a good, solid reason why we haven''t thrown £X-million at some has-been striker. Actually, I''m glad we haven''t thrown £X-million at a has-been striker. Marquee signings are not really my bag.4) Chris Hughton has now used the term "we" 100% more than Lambert ever did. This alone makes him very worthy of a chance in my book. There are 111 points left to play for. Let''s play for them! *I''d rather go with the 15 match rule myself but realise some want results a little faster than that!
22.

Time will tell if the OP is telling the truth. I once came on here to tell of investment, and was badgered and slated because I didn''t expose in public my source. So if I ever get information now I keep it to myself. By the way my source was 100% reliable.
You got badgered and slated because you were playing stupid "I know something you don''t know" games with Wiz as far as I recall.
[Y] but lets not get in the way of WAY''s self righteousness.
Or that we got the ''close to administration'' tip off spot on, as confirmed by MacNally some weeks later.
Actually it was around 18 months later, not weeks, but hey...And if we really were that close to administration how did we managed to get ££,£££s out of the NotW for a false story???You must have loved that - even though it all was total nonsense and could only be broadcast once NotW had been folded. But let''s not allow facts to guide opinion.
23. When Everton FC launched a new club shop in Liverpool they opened a real can of worms. The new store was in the latest shopping centre - Liverpool One.They named the shop "Everton Two".[;)]
24. Exactly the same thing happened a few years ago...The club were building up to announce the new away shirt and put an image up of a few players with the shirts blanked out - someone copied the file and in doing so only took the first layer of the photoshopped image (ie the players in the new kit). What happened? Someone at the club or Perform Group (PTV as was) got told to get their act together. Now a kid gets a phone call at 4am and the police banging on his door. If I were his Mum I''d be terrified/furious.Still, as someone else says it was the same with the beer guy and then there was the NotW fiasco. They said we were on the verge of going into administration (it was Notts County their info was about) and we successfully sued.18 months later McNally says we were "on the verge of administration 18 months ago..." - if the NotW hadn''t closed down they may have had some recourse to recoup the spoils. It''s awkward territory.I know a little of what''s gone on here and am pretty disgusted that the police even acted as quickly as they did - anyone else calling to say they''d been intellectually compromised would be told they''d get around to having a look at it in a few days!!No-one died; no-one lost any money; no-one who shouldn''t have gained any money but a seeming decent lad and his Mum have obviously been pretty scared by all this and that is wrong.I was told on Twitter last night that if this had affected me directly I''d think differently. That''s not the case - I''ve been in a very similar position with my site a few years ago and my response was to thank the person who pointed out the flaw and ensure it couldn''t happen again. And that time someone DID lose money - me! I also learned a valuable lesson about intellectual property and images on the web.All in all what a phenomenal over-reaction and now people everywhere are laughing at our club...
25. Which, for you personally, has been the most enjoyable league to play in and why?Is the Premier League all you and the team thought it would be?
