1. I agree 3 years of amazing service. I love Holt and if he wants to leave for reasons stated above then I''m Ok with that. What I am Ok with is the media circus and the disrespect towards the club, the fans, and drury with the manner and timing of this. If a month down the line, we signed his replacement, and then announced he was off, thats one thing, this is quite another and I have lost a lot of respect for him regardless of his reasoning, due to the handling of this situation, and the disrespect to Drury, a man who is loyal to this club beyond belief.
2.

7-1 could put villa down!! He''d never go then.
Impossible, as the difference in GD between QPR and Villa is 8 (22-14).
Very possible... QPR lose by 3 goals or more at the Etihad... which would hardly be an upset....and we win 7-1 negates and reverses the GD situ
3. Incredible game. I have been one of Moro''s biggest critics - but today he is my hero - the finish was superb. The lad has made my birthday, we never deserved to lose that. Brilliant game of football.
4. Just google WOTB and you''ll find it easily enough - It looks alright, it''s nothing inspiring but nothing offensive either - could do with some Green trim on the sleeves imo.
5. I''m pretty sure it''s against Premier League regulations anyway - Of course that doesn''t affect Ip5w1ch!!! :D
6. I''ll be honest - i really don''t rate him generally, but that was absolutely incredible technique. Stunning goal. Credit where it''s due, he meant that and he hit it exquisitely.I can''t express how shocked I am that big Pete has that in his locker though! Definitely one to tell the grandkids about.
7. I like Ayala but agree with basic mistakes - for example against West Brom - running round in circles with the ball in his own area, giving a corner away once, and a throw in the other time (although it should have been a corner that time too.) I think he has potential to become a very good player, but I would say 10mill is a long, long way off.
8. Finally Ski Jump Toes, you have made your point clearly and comprehensively and I now understand what you were trying to say!! I''m not sure if it was me being thick, or you not putting the reasoning behind your opinion across very clearly, I suspect as ever, the truth lies somewhere in the middle. I guess that probably cuts both ways in this instance with both of us not really understanding where the other was coming from. It was not my intent to bait or make sweeping generalisations, but I can see how it may have been interpreted as such and I will "be a big boy, and hold my hands up and apologise" for that, ( ;) ) as I obviously didn''t quite phrase it correctly. As ever, stats are what you choose to see, where you see over exaggeration, I see him giving it away double the amount of anyone else. That''s not because I don''t like Wes, as someone else stated, I do like him, but it is my opinion that when he is good, he is unplayable, but when he is bad he is terrible. If he could find any sort of consistency this season, like he did in League one, and to a lesser extent in the Champs, he would certainly be in my top 3 players. I think you finally represented my view appropriately, I would like to see how we get on with Howson in the team instead of Wessi. Anyway, no hard feelings, and we move on from this - I think we have both probably seen it through each other''s eyes a little more after the last couple of posts, and I can see your POV and I understand where your coming from, and judging from your last post it seems that it is also true vice versa.
9. Well clearly you don''t understand some very simple concepts involved in my posts, so let me spell them out for you.... I made it perfectly clear I wasn''t making sweeping statements about the fanbase - nor was I generalising people who disagree with my opinion, as I also made patently clear. If you choose to selectively read and misinterpret, and subsequently misrepresent my position, that''s hardly my problem. I made it very clear, my comments were aimed at those who see Hooly as some kind of demi-god who can do no wrong and are blind to his flaws. Fanboys is an accurate term to represent this tiny minority so I''m still not clear what in the hell you''re bitching about exactly. That is not "using the sweeping ''fanboy'' statement at anybody in disagreement/opposition to their views". That is using the appropriate terminology for a tiny minority of people who seem incapable of balancing their love for Wessi with objective assessment of his overall contribution. In fact I see Wes'' value to the squad, as I also made abundantly clear, but I also see his flaws, something else you appear to have elected to ignore. Your posts have been anything but "helpful" - In fact they are characterised by blatant manipulation of my points and skewing debate into an irrelevant topic about terminology and semantics. Which leads on to your next point which illustrates the twisting of my words beautifully. Please feel free to highlight any point where I have said "EVERYONE on this forum is a tosser". You will struggle though, seeing as I have never said that. I stated it has been taken over by tossers, which is entirely different. This is a simple demarcation you have elected to ignore to suit your own argument, so I will say it very clearly here. This board used to be a place for reasoned and rational debate about Norwich City FC. This board is now a place filled with silly little boys bickering and trading insults over nothing, which I am seemingly now being dragged into. ''Taken over'' is a fairly commonly used terminology so I would have thought most people had a basic enough grasp of English to make the distinction you chose not to make. I have provided a definition below (from Thefreedictionary dot com). I hope that it helps to develop your lack of basic linguistic skills: TAKE OVER: 1. To assume control, management, or responsibility. 2. To assume the control or management of or the responsibility for: She took over the job after he left. 3. To become dominant: Our defense took over in the second half of the game. I stand by the statement that tossers have "assumed control" and "become dominant" on this board. That is not to say everyone on here is a tosser, and this would be entirely inaccurate and does not represent my feelings towards many posters on here whose opinions I respect. I suggest you go back to your world of warcraft forum as fantasy land is clearly somewhere you feel overtly comfortable. In the spirit of your ridiculous attempt to patronise me and condescend, we shall finish powerpoint style to ensure you fully understand.... 1. You made it clear you thought it was childish, I made it clear that I don''t hold that valid and don''t really understand your pettiness about the semantics of what I said. 2. Thanks for the history lesson, I wasn''t aware of the origins of the term. 3. I think your blatant attempts to twist what I said and abject failure to understand simple concepts and facets of my posts that were intrinsic to the comprehension of them indicate it isn''t me who has the thick skull. 4. I stand by everything I said, in the manner it was said, not the warped version you are trying to portray. 5. I have no beef with you either, but stop trying to misrepresent what I am saying to predicate and perpetuate petty bickering.
10. Trent, I may be thinking of the wrong handball shout (none of them which were stonewall) but "Blocking his face" may be legitimate when the ball is actually around a player''s face but when it hits an arm at waist height a clear foot in distance away from the body, I think "protecting his face" is a questionable excuse!! FWIW I don''t think it was deliberate but you have certainly seen them given. He didn''t deliberately move his arm into the path, but he had enough time to get it out of the way and his arm blocked a goalbound shot.
11. and just to add to this - If I had wanted to be offensive or childish about the Wes-lovers, I could have been quite easily, there are a million and one ways to say things with far more offensive connotations attached to them, all of which I steered well clear of and went with what I thought was a pretty innocuous name, but apparently not. I don''t recognise your point as valid, and I find your response pretty bizarre, but if anyone reading this loves Wes to the point of being unable to see his flaws (and there is a demarcation between that, and simply being a fan of Wes but understanding he has flaws) and you are offended by the use of the word "Fanboy" then I apologise, and please understand that no offence was intended as I don''t see it as an offensive term in any way, shape, or form. And that will be my last comment on the subject as clearly I''m managing to pi55 everyone off. Back to the Redskins messageboard and rational conversation that doesn''t spiral into arguments over nothing (and that is not intended as a "point scoring" comment - I''m including myself in the arguing over nothing group here).
12. In what world is it offensive? or childish? I don''t know you, so I don''t know if you''re the product of a different era or whatever (I''m guessing you are and you''re not under 30) but it''s not offensive, and is universally recognised amongst my generation for what it is, and is commonly used as an adjective, with no connotations attached to that to describe these groups in society who are so in love with a product or brand. Your point can remain as long as it likes but I won''t recognise it as valid because it''s illogical. If I''d said something offensive to describe this group then I could understand your point, but I didn''t. I like the Redskins NFL team, and we''re going to draft the next big thing at Quarterback, Robert Griffin lll (RG3). I''ve been talking up the prospect of making the trade we did for months because I think he is a once in a generation talent. Does that make me a fanboy? Absolutely. Would I happily use the term to describe myself? Yes. I don''t understand your problem with it, so I can only guess it''s generational and this has been lost in translation somewhere.
13. Just to chuck this in to counter the people saying we weren''t amazing for the first 15/20minutes - we were, the commentators said as much and Jamie Redknapp''s comments at Half Time were "Almost like watching Barcelona". The rest of the game we were tosh, but we were excellent for the first part.
14. Ski jump toes, I was (aptly) characterising a group of people, joined collectively by their love of Wes and their staunch belief he is beyond criticism of any sort. I''m not backtracking, I''ll stand by what I said - I''m not referring to the whole fanbase and I don''t think "Wessi fanboy" could be in any way deemed offensive, unless you don''t understand what a fanboy actually is. Think what you like and take exception to what you like. You''re entitled to your own opinion, but a colloquial nickname for a sub-sect of the fanbase is surely not the most disagreeable bit of my post.
15. Glad we can agree on something Downloads, Im also of the opinion that he''d be in neither my top or bottom 3 players of the season, and we each clearly think the other is a tosser. Let''s call it a draw and leave it at that!
16. JF - I can only assume u are looking in the wrong places. Streams are syndicated - the same ones shown across multiple streaming sites - the quality is generally no better or worse on any of them. Individual streams can be better or worse quality, but the sites themselves are not as the same individual streams are featured across several of them, with the odd exception. I have watched several games this weekend and the quality is exactly the same as it has always been, and there is absolutely no logical reason it shouldn''t be, if you actually understood anything about streaming then you would understand this - basically, you''re talking out of your ar5e. Smith must score, we''ve had this chat before re: paying for streams - so I won''t delve into it again, just to let you know there is an extension for Firefox and Google Chrome (dunno about Internet explorer as I haven''t used it since about 2003!!) called "adblock" which filters out 99% of ads across the entire web - including those on streaming sites.
17. I''m 24, I apologise if I used a commonly used internet colloquialism for the sake of rapidity when creating my post, and that made you think I''m a child, but frankly I couldn''t give a toss. I''m not offended no, I''m slightly annoyed that me saying Wessi gave it away 4 or 5 times, which is an existential fact apparently means I''m "talking ****" but I can see you''re not the sharpest spoon in the drawer (although probably the biggest tool in the shed) so I''ll let it slide. You say you were only posting in response to the negativity, but I went out of my way to mention that Wes is an asset to the team and that he had a good first half, but I pointed out he faded in the second half. You clearly took exception to that as "negativity" as it was my post you responded to, so I suggest you maybe look up the word "negativity". You might also want to check to see if there''s definitions for "balanced point of view" and "talking ****" as you clearly don''t have a comprehensive grasp of either concept. If you want to talk semantics then I probably should have said "that level of defensiveness" rather than vitriol - which would probably have been more accurate, as what you said wasn''t particularly vitriolic. I did think that after I posted but didn''t think it worthy of a correctional post. I haven''t come across that stat, maybe he doesnt get dispossessed more than anyone else, I''m also happy to be proven wrong - that''s why I stated that it was my opinion - maybe it''s just more noticeable as we are pressing forward when he has the ball, so when he does lose it, we are often caught on the counter. Now I remember why I stopped posting on here very often. It''s been taken over by tossers.
18. Downloads perfectly illustrates the vitriol that Wessi fanboys have whenever anyone criticises him. Grow up. He''s a decent player, not some sort of infallible superhero. Yes I noticed the others make some sloppy passes, but I saw Wes give it away consistently and somehow use his skills to spin out of a few times where he nearly got caught in possession because he hadn''t noticed someone coming in for a tackle. Show me the bit in my post where I stated Wes was the worst player in the team today? Oh you can''t because I never said that, you''re just putting words in my mouth. Stats mean whatever you want them to mean. everyone points to the stat that says Wessi completes more passes than everybody else, and I don''t dispute that, I think he does. However he also loses the ball by getting tackled more so than anyone else imo, but there is no stat record for that as far as I''m aware.
19. Trent, the foul count was 12 against us, 8 against them.... It was about 12-5 in about the 85th minute if i recall correctly - the first booking for them came in the 79th minute, following which they had 3 more, mainly for their cynical hacks as we were about to go through on goal. Were we really dirty today in the first 85minutes compared to Wigan? I didn''t think so. 12-5 on the foul count would indicate we were according to Mr Friend, giving them more than double the number of free kicks.... I''m looking forward to seeing some of these "Fouls" we conceded again on MOTD2.
20. I have to say, I think Wes is skillful, and today he played well in the first half, but are people really so blind with love they didnt see him give it away 4 or 5 times in the 2nd half? Don''t get me wrong, I don''t hate the lad and I still think he is well worth keeping at the club but he consistently gives the ball away and when he has a bad day, it makes life more difficult for the team, because he keeps losing it.and putting us under pressure. On a good day, he is the best player on the pitch.
21. Indy, I agree, foul yes, booking no - if it shows it on Motd, have a look, he was holding the shirt but he wasn''t pulling it, he didnt haul the player down, and the player wasn''t getting near the ball whether he had hold of his shirt or not.
22. He may be at Birmingham now, but http://www.pinkun.com/norwich-city/norwich_city_chief_scout_to_join_chelsea_1_952000 Pinkun says he was at least going to join Chelsea (dunno if he did or not) I''m confused re: Helbeg as my recollection of him as that him coming in at Right Back, Bentley coming back from injury and Ashton signing was the impetus for our great run of form. Im 99% certain he delivered the free kick for Ashton''s injury time winner vs Newcastle (The Safri 40,000 yarder game).
23. For anyone who is interested in seeing him play based on this rumour (although I doubt many will be, I''m not!) DC United kick off at 7pm vs New York Red Bulls - streams in the usual places.
