1.
Lambert can''t come back from this. He''s gone. Thanks for everything, but f**k you for making it end like this.
Spot on.
2. Thanks chris, much appreciated - it was doing my head in!!
3.
Some useful info
Just checking it works on chrome...
4. Hoddle? Thats a bizarre choice... wouldn''t make my top 100 let alone top 3!! Mine would be... Di Matteo Curbishley Poyet Hughton Holloway
5. FAO ABC: http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012/may/30/aston-villa-paul-lambert-norwich?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+theguardian%2Ffootball%2Frss+%28Football%29 https://twitter.com/#!/search/paul%20lambert http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/4347635/Paul-Lambert-quits-Norwich-after-furious-row-over-Villa-job.html http://www.itv.com/news/update/2012-05-31/report-paul-lambert-quits-as-norwich-city-manager/ https://twitter.com/#!/SimonThomasSky
6. ABC - Skysports is on a loop overnight, from 11pm onwards. It has been reported by various journos on twitter, the sun, the telegraph, the times all reporting it and Sky Sports presenter/one of our own Simon Thomas is tweeting about it. I agree it''s a bad move for Lambert, but this isn''t just some idle rumour, you''re setting yourself up for a fall here pal. MON is Irish and I doubt the England job (or any international job) is very interesting to someone as hands on as MON and Liverpool job wouldn''t interest him as he doesn''t like not having complete control of footballing matters.
7. Agree. Would be my first choice, but I''m not convinced he''d come here.
8. 100% agree. I went through the exact same thought process. I trust McNally 100% to get the right man for the job in to replace Lambo.
9. I have to say, I would be happy with this appointment. He always comes across as a decent enough bloke. The only worry I have is him being out of football for quite a while, but he certainly makes my top 3 on a shortlist.
10. Gutted but no point being bitter. Paul took us from League one basement to surviving the Prem for first time in 20 years. Remarkable job and he leaves with my thanks. Sad that it''s ended sourly, but life goes on. In McNally we trust.
11. I don''t know how this will play out, but Rodgers getting the Liverpool job will surely throw a spanner in the logic of Villa being a stepping stone for him. If he does a good job, the big clubs will seemingly come calling regardless of whether he is at Norwich or Villa. If that was a big factor (Im not saying it is, I know no more than any of you - except maybe BW) but if it were a significant factor - then Liverpool have done us a massive favour today.
12. This is the one thing that shames me about being Polish. I forget who said it was more of a problem in Poland than the Ukraine, but I disagree with this - it is a problem of all the former Soviet states in Eastern Europe equally, and I think you will find this when you go over to Ukraine. There is no hiding the fact that this goes on and it is utterly abhorrent and I condemn it 100%. I can only hope that having the Euros will help further intercultural relations in Poland but I fear we may see some ugly scenes, that is my one great worry about us being the host nation. Poland have recently had a black (Nigerian) Centre Forward (Emmanuel Olisadebe) and a "naturalised" Brazilian (Roger Guerrerio) playing for the national team and a significant proportion of the fanbase accepted them, but there were signs saying "Roger: You''ll never be Polish" and similar at several games. It is a real problem of the former Soviet block who never really experienced the levels of migration that other countries did. This should in no way be interpreted as an excuse, just simply a statement of fact. There is something like 2000 different Neo-Nazi Skinhead gangs in Russia and there are plenty in Poland and Ukraine too, although i don''t have figures for this. Stupid as Poland is a nation which lost 6 million people to the nazis and suffered horrendously, you think that the Polish people would have some sort of conscience about racism.
13. This thread epitomises why you get so much grief on this board BW - you post utter nonsense and mental fantasies as reality. If you actually think we have a legitimate shot at signing Adam Johnson, then you need to get checked in at your nearest asylum immediately.
14. Well the line directly under the paper''s name saying "The paper that honestly lies" would probably have me questioning the veracity of the source. I would suggest that it is probably unreliable seeing as it''s a joke paper that openly admits that it is making up the stories.... Jeez.
15. Lol. Pinkun posters really do bite at anything huh?
16. Won''t change a thing imo - Surely all the Abu Dhabi group has to do is announce they are sponsoring Man City for 500mill a season? that gives them free reign to spend what they like, just means the money has to go in as a sponsorship payment rather than a direct investment on whatever paperwork is necessary
17. I really don''t understand how anyone could be backing Woy. He has proven himself useless before a ball has even been kicked with his utterly shocking selection. He can''t manage anyone with an ego as he proved at Liverpool (and before anyone says Inter Milan - he was there for 2 bloody months and didn''t get the job on a permanent basis). And went in the press saying he was 100% convinced that the Tamas elbow (you know the completely intentional one that left Vaughan needing plastic surgery) was unintentional (see link if you need to review it) http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xl306x_tamas-elbows-vaughan_sport The guy is just a buffoon. Yes he was successful at Fulham, but Mike Walker was successful with us, didn''t mean he could do it anywhere else. Everyone harps on about Roy''s credentials of winning trophies. Yes he has, in the bloody scandinavian league. That''s like saying that the bloke who manages the local pub team that won the league is worthy of the England job. He is nothing but a pathetic yes man and I think he will be an utter disaster. I feel bad for ruddy but I''m also kind of glad he won''t be part of the squad that is eliminated before game 2.
18. I think Nelson was "Morison" for the night - sounded like the commentator went by regular squad numbers and those players not normally in our squad took the numbers of those missing through international duty.
19. Just looked at the squad and found it interesting that whilst Wilbrahamovic is staying and playing tonight (and presumably saying goodbye to the fans) Whitbread isn''t in the squad - no idea why, he could be on holiday for all I know but I''m a little surprised he isn''t included.
20. I won''t lose patience with him, the sacrifice we make is a bit of uncertainty and in return we have had by far the most enjoyable few years since finishing 3rd and Europe. It''s the same as Dean Ashton, we all knew he was destined for bigger and brighter things (unfortunately that didn''t work out for him though) and we all knew he''d leave at some point. As long as when Lambert leaves us, he doesn''t disrespect the club and does it with dignity then I don''t see how anyone could complain. At the end of the day, the bloke has worked miracles for us, and saved our beloved club from years of desperate times (see Leeds when they went down to League 1 for example) and I for one, will be eternally grateful to him for having spared us from a similar fate. I have 100% trust in McNally to get the right man in when Paul does leave.
21. I live too far away to go - so i will be watching, be good to see Hucks in a City shirt again - and obviously to give Ads the massive respect he deserves. I doubt we''ll see 11 years from a player for a long time. For those who are also exiled, and will be stream hunting, all im going to say is "Wiziwig"
22. Not much experience of the source and his accuracy (although from what I understand he has a decent rep for being reliable) but I''d love this to be true!
