1. I think it''s far more likely we see Crofts, Korey and King Simone out the door before Pilks and Howson.
I think if anyone else goes, we may lose Fox to Villa to be honest, Lambert obviously likes him and although I wouldn''t like to see him go as I think he''s a decent player, I have to say I dont think we specifically NEED him with the new arrivals. [Disclaimer: I do not have inside sources and am not predicting it, just saying IF we lose anyone other than KOS, KS + Crofts from Mid, i think Fox is most likely]

  2.
And what young defenders who are better than what we''ve got, within our price range, would those who don''t like the idea of Turner recommend?
I''m happy enough with the Turner signing (and Whittaker looked excellent last night til he got injured) too. I would say that I would have preferred Damien Perquis from Sochaux to Turner though, would guess fee and wages would be fairly similar.

  3.
Have a Glenn Roeder table. And stick all the family on it that you don''t really want there, but had to invite
No, the Glenn Roeder table is better filled by loaning someone else''s family for the day.
Good luck with the wedding day and future marriage btw.

    "Chaaaaaaance!"

    "That really takes the biscuit!"

    Know what I mean?!

"Blocked on the line, it''s gonna go in, it''s gonna go in......"
That was such an incredible moment, don''t think I''ve ever seen Carrow Road go that mental.
Another one I will always remember is Goss vs Bayern at home to knock them out. I was 7 years old and remember it clear as day.
And Neil Adams smashing a penalty into the roof of the net against Brimingham away to give us a 3-2 win - only memorable because I was mascot that day :)

I''m assuming that you don''t have access to Canary Player - there is already some footage on-line already

The games will also be featured as well - it will be terrible commentary though!

Are the games going to be streamed live? If so I might invest in CW for a month...

  6. As some of you may know, I actually follow Fenerbahce as my second team (I lived in Turkey for a  bit). Yobo has been in excellent form for both years of his loan and both Fener and Yobo were keen to make the deal permanent but it appears to have stalled now due to Everton demanding too large a fee (They want about £3mill for him) so Fener are looking elsewhere. So whilst it appears he won''t be signing for Fener permanently, I agree, I think this is lost in translation due to the shared nickname of the Canaries, and not based on any genuine interest from us. Having said that, I would be perfectly happy to see him as a Norwich player if it were true, as he really has been outstanding at Fener.

  7.
.....of course he was over priced and Liverpool had to act quickly. Thank you for that.

"he really isn''t very good if you watch him play" Really!?!? He hasn''t lived up to the form he had while at Newcastle that much is obvious but when AC plays well he is awesome. For you to choose him over Howson is just weird mate and sounds to me like you are doing it for the sake of the argument.

Howson has been a revelation since he''s been here........just say that again, since he''s been here. A lot of fans (majority?) at the time when he signed were hardly overwhelmed. For you to say though that you would have had Johnny Howson from a league one Leeds (even Leeds fans were nonplussed) over the premiership goal scoring and headline making Andy Carroll (who went on to play for England).

Seriously leave out the flowery facts designed to make you sound knowledgable.....blah blah Stoke blah blah Comoli and your critique and interpretation of what happened when Torres was sold, we all know that. I asked you, Carroll or Howson before Carroll signed for LiverpooI......you with mystic clairvoyance and the football knowledge that nobody else has evolved to yet..................said Howson

I also have a problem with your mild racism towards being Scottish.

    Embarrassing
Yes really, he was over-rated at Newcastle. "Premiership goal scoring and headline making" LOL - ridiculous hyperbole. His goals to games average in the Prem is TERRIBLE. That''s like me calling Simeon Jackson the "premiership goal scoring phenom" based on last season. Yeah, let''s leave out the facts because they totally undermine your argument, and why make a point based on the facts when you can just create ridiculous hyperbolic opinions. They''re  FACTS that illustrate the point that AC isn''t very good. Mild racism? Where? It''s nothing to do with racism toward the scots, I was just pointing out that if he were Scottish, not English, then he wouldnt have the same hype, and people who are commenting on this thread saying how great he is would be slating him if he weren''t English. Having a problem with people using facts to undermine your argument and pulling one of the most bizarre racism cards ever, out for me saying he would have less ridiculous hype if it he weren''t English. That''s embarrassing.
I would rather sign Emile Heskey than AC, he''d be far more effective. It didn''t take mystic clairvoyance to see Carroll is $hit, and has attitude problems. It takes football knowledge to know about decent lower league players, but if you think AC is a good footballer, you obviously don''t have too much of that.
If Carroll is so good, how come clubs aren''t fighting to take him on loan? Well? If he is such a great player who''d make such a big impact, why aren''t even mid-table Prem clubs interested?

  8.
@Scooby

OK, fair enough, you seriously doubt that the majority would. No big deal and it''s not really the main point of the thread. I''ve never said we ''need'' Carroll, my OP was asking what people thought about the speculation.

Regarding Howson v AC anyway. If you had been asked who to choose before Howson signed for us, who would you have picked?
I''d have picked Howson. Carroll is horrendously over-rated and worth about 20% of what Liverpool paid. Maximum. The only reason anyone thinks he is any good is the price tag, and the fact he''s English. If he was Scottish and had signed for Celtic for a price more in line with his ability, every one of you would be saying he''d be a terrible signing because he really isn''t very good if you actually watch him play.
He was being linked with an 8-10mill move to Stoke 6weeks before he went to Anfield. Liverpool got ripped off because everyone knew how much Chelski paid for Torres and how desperate the scousers were with it being late on deadline day and got held to ransom. Anyone else not surprised in the least that Comolli has since departed Anfield?

  9. I would see this as bad business. sounds like I''m in the minority, but imo Carroll is a terrible player, with attitude problems and an ego based on believing his own hype. The reality is, he had scored 12 Prem goals in 40+ Prem games before he signed for Liverpool, and he played well for one and a half games in the whole of last season. Just because Dalglish was stupid enough to pay £35mill for him doesn''t make him worth it. Those who are saying we should swap Howson are delusional, why would we swap a player that is likely to be a key figure for us this season, for one who will disappoint and score less than 5 goals? If Carroll is the answer, then I don''t even want to hear the question.

  10.
Exactly Tom I''m not trying to cause a argument just curious why is Norwich not spending? Each clubs makes a rather large amount of money each from the pl. should Norwich be constantly buying players from lower leagues I think not buyin unproven talent is a risk which IMO should be managed by buying unproven talent and proven talent. Surely the Norwich board would be thinking if we stay up next year we get 60m so spend a large some of money this season to practically guarantee premiership status.
That''s funny, because our "unproven lower league players" did a damn sight better than your group of overpaid geriatric mercenaries and moronic thugs. Surely you should be more worried about your own team pursuing a transfer policy which failed so miserably last season and resulted in scraping survival by the skin of your teeth, than our team continuing a policy which led to early safety and a 12th place finish. Delusions of grandeur from the QPR money boys, but the reality is far less rosy. Your lot were saying the same thing last season when you signed Joey Barton.
