1. I grew up 200miles from Norwich, but my Dad is from Norfolk and is City through and through, so there was never any chance of me supporting anyone else. I went to my first game before I was 3 years old, followed us up and down the country ever since I can remember, and he even took me out of school for the day to make the 7 hour round trip to be there when we put Bayern to the sword aged 6.
I now live in Derby, but when I have kids, they will also be Norwich fans, there is simply no other option.

  2.
As somebody above said... EPL players earn too much to get away with this.

Even the greediest most braindead imbelice is going to want a hundred grand, and that means lots of money would need to be placed on the red card bet to make it profitable enough.

In the lower leagues where you have players on five hundred quid a week it is much more likely.

I doubt it goes on much in our game, although clearly it does as shown by the recent scandal. Some of the foreign leagues are terribly corrupt though, referees are bought as standard practice in some places.
Yeah, I know there ahve been scandals everywhere but Turkey has had a pretty bad lot with match fixing over the last couple of years. The tFF seem to have cleaned up their house now, but Aziz Yildirim, the Fenerbahce Chairman is currently in jail for match fixing. Fenerbahce spent 10mill on Emineke and then he was implicated when the match fixing scandal broke, so they sold him again a week or two later, without him ever kicking a ball for them (That was a few years back and they bought him back in the summer). Fenerbahce and Besiktas both got bans from European competition too because if it.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2011_Turkish_sports_corruption_scandal << That link gives some idea as to how widespread it was across that league.,
I think in the grand scheme of things, we''re pretty incomparable to that.

  3. I agree about Whittaker and the midfield really missed Howson imo, but how can anyone say that wasn''t a red card? Two footed and knee height. Was a red card all day long (wouldn''t have mattered either way as he was on a booking so still would''ve walked for a 2nd yellow)

  4.
hopefully he will remember us helping him out and will send a nod to a player or 2 from Poland
There''s not many worth nicking from Poland Jas. Most of the good poles play in Germany, Italy or Holland nowadays.
There is an exciting young striker banging the goals in the dutch second tier for De Graafschap, Piotr Parzyszek. Apparently Benfica and Villa sniffing round him - he''s 20, 6''2 and has bagged 28 goals in 50 games. Poor league, although a lot of Poles think he could be better than Lewandowski.
Either way, Henning Berg won''t be scouting much in Poland as the domestic league is very poor.

  5.
Play back four of;;

    Whitts - (2 from - Bass - Turner - Bennett) - Olsson

Martin in front of back four, allowing Whitts and Olsson to bomb on leaving a back three

In front of Martin - Fer - Howson

Then two pacey tricky wingers; Murphy - Redmond

    RVW up front

With FB''s bombing on, wingers going to the line, Fer and Hoson and un used FB and winger can maraud into the box to feed off RVW who will get his head on the crosses from the byline, this puts (up to) 6 players in and/or around the box whist keeping a reasonably solid back three.

Obviously we may not send all six up at any one time, maybe one of the FBs or Fer or Howson to hold back to protect the back three.

It also gives us the opportunuity to have a back five with 3 CBs when defending, which hopefully will stop some of the goasl we are conceding.
I would like to see this system given a go, I think it has merit.

  6.
was hoping to take my seat in the firstrow to catch some friday night footy, alas the linksare not working.Hope all is resolved for tomorrow afternoon.
The first row is not the only place to watch games you know.
There is a pretty good view from the VIPBox....

  7.
And then I woke up!
Watch out ladies and gentleman, we have a comedy genius in the building!
I would love to know how he thinks up such witty and original lines whilst maintaining such prosaic poise.
Are you a full time bell-end or is it just a hobby?

  8.
....the Polish CB ....playing in Norway, I think for Tronso......could be a player of interest to us.
If you''re on about Jaroslaw Fojut, then I sincerely hope not.
The Polish defence is the weakest it''s been for decades, and that is quite some achievement when you think that the best Polish CB in that time has been Jacek Bak!!!... The new manager has been trying out a load of no-hopers in defence trying to find something that clicks, and Fojut didn''t even make the no-hoper list.
He would probably struggle to make it into a league one team to be honest.
If we were looking for a Polish CB, the ONLY one I would be interested in is Kamil Glik, but even then I wouldn''t be wildly excited.

  9.
Self evidently, KIO, if one of our opposition''s best players is suspended when we play them, then it''s potentially good news for us.

It doesn''t really ned saying, mate.

What I think others are saying that unless we approach this game with the right attitude, then Bolasies''s suspension will be totally irrelevant.
Agreed, I got that, it wasn''t subliminal.
The post was more aimed at drawing attention to the fact Bolasie was sent off than to discuss the nuances of whether that is good news or not!

  10.
Everyone is entitled to their thoughts.sorry mate tissue for your nose not big enough
Did that even make sense in your head before you typed it?
What the hell are you on about?
For the record by the way, where in my first post did I say I expect us to beat Palace. I said Bolasie, one of their best players being suspended is good news. Which it is. You''re the one having a little temper tantrum, and acting like a 12 year old girl... try being a bit more rational, you might find it refreshing.

  11.
Can''t agree im afraid.

I thought we played well today, yes two blunders allowed the goals but they are individual errors.

I thought our shape was good and we bounced back well from the early setback and had a go.

We seemed to move the ball a bit quicker for me today as well.

    Thought we deserved a point.
If you were watching the same game, I think you might be in a very small minority of one that saw the game like that today.
We were terrible, and looked entirely toothless. The only reason we "had a go" was Newcastle took their foot off the gas second half. Even then, our version of "having a go" consisted of creating pretty much nothing in terms of chances, and just watching Newcastle clear it comfortably every time we got within 30 yards.
We really zipped it around along our back line but as soon as we got near the centre circle it was more of the same plodding away doing nothing with the ball.
I don''t think we deserved a point or anything close to it. We got exactly what we deserved and the scoreline flattered us if anything.
