  1. Particularly disappointed by this but only because I'll be back in Nottinghamshire next year and this would be a nice local away day. Barnsley down too is sad, although Rotherham look like they'll come up which is good news for my away trips. Could do with Sheffield weds coming up and forest/Sheffield utd avoiding promotion.

  2. Any players youve spotted who can fill the Buendia shaped hole in our team? Obviously we have dowell and rashica (if he stays) but who could we sign to bolster our attacking threat?

Couple of players who would fill the void that I've noticed, couple of emi types, and a couple that aren't so similar.

Chris Willock at qpr - they paid 750k for him and currently has 11 assists and 7 goals this season. Plays like a hybrid of Stiepermann and Emi. Big, strong, direct but can ping a pass and has good vision. 24 years old so room to grow.

Arda Guler - 17 year old kid on the fringes of fenerbahce. Emi type creativity and vision but a bit more direct. Supposedly a lot of big clubs eyeing him so probably not realistic, but the kid is special and probably available relatively cheap as there's not much money in turkish Football these days. Takes penalties too.

Mateusz Musialowski - Polish 18 year old in Liverpool's academy. Prime for a championship loan i would think after excelling in academy level football. Known as "the Polish Messi". His playing style is very similar to Messi in terms of carrying the ball and running directly at players but somehow getting by them (not comparing talent levels, just style). Scores goals for fun, and plays with flair and creativity.

Wildcard - John Swift at Reading. Plays like Stiepermann on steroids with ability to take a free kick. 11 goals 13 assists this season. 26 so a good age.

Now Root has done the honourable thing and stepped aside, who is next?

Stokes apparently doesn't want it so maybe Bairstow?

Shouldn't this be in the "things you've thought of but are too dull for conversation" thread?

(Sorry, couldn't resist, I really dislike Cricket, but I will pipe down and let those of you who do enjoy it to discuss sensibly)

  4. I'd like to see a bit more from him but he's looking like a player that could be pretty dominant in the championship next season if he can stay fit. He was good again today and he definitely has the quality, it's whether he has the fortitude to get stuck in that I still have question marks about. Maybe he will get a bit more bite like Emi did, or maybe he will just stay a luxury type player like Vrancic was for us, but we can afford one of those in the team every week in the Championship anyway.

Who says it will spill over into anywhere else? All the other countries are in NATO so if he wanted to make a fuss he would have done so.

Well KG, that rather depends if you believe Putin is telling the truth about his motive. Personally, given some of the stuff he's said over recent years about Ukraine not being a real country etc, and Putin's general lack of truth, I would reckon on it being more to be about legacy and empire building than any real concerns about Ukraine joining nato.

After all, presume Russia takes Ukraine, that leaves the New Russian superstate bordering Poland, Slovakia, Hungary and Romania... all members of nato. Not wanting nato on his doorstep doesn't really stack up as a logical argument.

Appeasement of Russia began in 1944/5 at the Potsdam and Yalta conferences. Despite the pledges that the British govt made to Poland in 1939 we appeased Stalin by giving him Eastern Poland at the Yalta Conference. Churchill took a lead in this by agreeing with Stalin a "spheres of influence" agreement at Potsdam.

The historical truth is that Chamberlain saved the UK from being defeated in 1940 by buying time in 1938. The real appeasement was Churchill's in 1944/5.

I was talking about the appeasement of Hitler. Hence 1938.

Well aware of the soviet history and allied betrayal of Poland, given my family are from Bydgoszcz.

  7. NATO needs to act quickly and decisively. War in Europe is now inevitable and the only question is when. The longer it takes for the war to begin, the longer and more horrific the war will be.

The time for sanctions is over.

    Putin isn't stopping at Ukraine.

This is 1938. Appeasement and tolerance is not an option. History will repeat unless we learn its lessons.

Can I just state I'm not some old codger against Loud noises etc, those who know me know I'm massively vocal at matches, my objection is a pure and simple one, they just sound crap, always have always will.

Second this. Massively tinpot and a huge cringe factor.

Would rather have Vuvuzelas going off than a drum, it's just naff.

  9. I know there's racism everywhere but I've never heard it in the stands. Disgusting, and I hope the neanderthals responsible get locked up and banned.

    Shameful.

I was apathetic at best for the last 3 months. Stopped watching entirely pretty much and resorted to keeping vague track of the scores and watching highlights. I can't even be bothered to put in that much effort right now, think this is the straw that breaks the camel's back for me. I'm done entirely for this season, quite possibly for good tbh.

Never felt so disconnected to the club.

No, no he wouldn't. He's too small. I swear one of our ball boys would have more about him... A strong wind would knock young Billy off the ball

I dont think a strong wind is necessarily required. A gentle breeze will have him wobbling.

You and ward 3 both began hostilities by calling me dumb for my initial post. I answer back and now you're playing the victim. Weird

Your initial post was dumb then and is still dumb now. Tzolis and Rashica aren't the next Messi and CR7 but they're clearly upgrades on Placheta and Hernandez. They were signed for 10mill each so were clearly going to be above two poor wingers in the pecking order.

Not sure why you're trying to claim some kind of victory - your post is still dumb.

Not trying to play the victim by the way, just genuinely had no idea who you were, as I didn't check the OP., but now it's clear you have some kind of bizarre grudge over a post you made 4 months ago. Nice one. I'll leave it there, as I have zero interest arguing about whether your post is dumb or not, when it patently was and remains so.

You've made yourself look a right fool here "Oooohhh Webber spends 20 million he must be right!"  You can share a slice of humble pie with ward 3

Can you read? The point I made was Webber thinks they are upgrades and that's why he spent 20 mill on them. At no point did I say that he was right. If you're going to try and argue with people on the internet for no clear reason, then maybe a bit of basic comprehension might help your cause. Weird.

Falling out of love with this team at the minute. Was good to see them scrapping a bit with the Arsenal players up to the second goal. Finally got the fans on side and up for it, showed they actually cared for a second, but then nope we’re all at sea at the back again and it’s 0-2 and game over.

Don’t even know what I’m supposed to be clapping or cheering right now. There’s just nothing to get behind is there?

For the first time in my life I've actually just given up. Can't be bothered to ruin my weekend every week watching this shower. Hughton nearly destroyed my love for Norwich but this season is just pure apathy for me. Premier league is a pointless money pit where the best we can hope for is to finish like 14th or whatever. What is the ****ing point? Its boring, stale and totally uninspiring. Have qatched about 3 games all season and feel my life is markedly better and more interesting for it.

I'm at the point now where il watch us in the champs but I'm done watching us in the prem. It's ****.

I was actually pleasantly surprised, feared the worst when they said he was commentating but thought he was ok on balance.

If you want biased listen to Robbie Savage during any Man U game on BTSport- dreadful.

Yeah, I thought Shearer was pretty fair and hid his bias well until they were winning when he definitely let his guard slip a bit, but for the most part he was pretty good at keeping neutral

  15. Got Villa up with a team of very expensive loanees and a squad that should have done far better than they were. Only scraped into playoffs after a ridiculous run of wins at the end of the season. Was mid table with 10 games to go IIRC.

Scraped survival due to goal line tech not working properly, otherwise they'd have gone down, despite spending 100million and having Grealish.

**** this, I'm done. I have now totally lost interest in Norwich, something I never thought I'd say. I've watched 1.5 games since the Liverpool cup game, I just can't be bothered anymore. The apathy is real.
