  1. A bit late but have a crack at giving your predictions below (preferably in the same format).

    🏅 Winners: Brazil
    🥈 Runners Up: Argentina
    ️ Golden Boot: Mbappe
    🧤 Golden Glove: Alissson
🔥 Player of the Tournament: Neymar
    🔺️ Surprise package (country): Poland
    🔻 Flop (country): Belgium
🤯 WTF moment: Protest results in riot

  2. Am I the only person in the country who doesn't get Ant and Dec? Their contrived ****ty scripted jokes  that they struggle to read off the autocue, make me want to stick soldering irons in their eyes. Even with soldering irons in their eyes, theyd still be able to see the punchlines coming 20 seconds before they do. They're essentially just Christmas cracker jokes, badly delivered, in irritating Geordie packaging.

Theyre just not remotely funny or entertaining, theyre a pair of talentless chancers who have made a career out of being utterly devoid of actual personality.

The only way I would ever watch them through choice is if there were lions, sharks, snipers or grenades involved. Any combo is fine. I'd be delighted with the quadruple.

  3. Also recommend "stuff you should know". Engaging hosts telling the stories of the science behind how things work,  some mysteries and origins of various things. Some of them are surprisingly interesting such as the hour long feature on the origins of cornflakes.

Recommend the Hinterkaifack (spelling?) Murders, the Dylatov pass incident, kellog brothers wacky world of health as episodes to get started with.

I expect CCHQ will be in contact to see when they want to be fast tracked into a safe seat (that's if there such a thing as a Tory safe seat these days).

    https://www.theguardian.com/education/2022/nov/18/eton-college-apologises-after-allegations-pupils-jeered-visiting-state-schoolgirls

Eton College has apologised and “sanctioned” a number of pupils after allegations that a group of girls visiting from a nearby state school were subjected to misogynistic language, racial slurs and jeering.

the students were booed inside the lecture theatre and were subjected to “racial slurs” and “generally misogynistic comments”

It was a speech by nigel farage too. The fact they invited him says everything about that horrible institution. Grim in every respect of the story.

  5. I feel like me and you would get on pretty well Kernow.

Top rant. I give it a solid 9.2.

I also appreciate someone who isn't afraid of a being a bit savage.

Great effort. Highly rated and agreed with in full.

One way they could consider improving in future would be to avoid musical chairs type **** and consider putting these Z-listers into a squid games type scenario. I would happily watch that.

    Well, this aged like milk.

Fair play to the Commanders @kick it off but the Eagles well and truly shot themselves in the foot tonight. Hoping it isn't the start of a trend.

I've had the kids and work today so only just finished it. What a win! I can't believe that, was expecting to get our **** kicked.

Considering how the game went in Washington a few weeks ago, we looked like a different team. I swear to god if Rivera puts that useless sack machine Wentz back in after the way Heinicke has played then he should be fired on the spot. Be interesting to see how the rest of the season shakes out.

Are NFL teams copying football now and changing their strips regularly?

Theuve always done it. Certainly for the 12 or so years I've been watching. Differences are usually minor though year to year.

  8. Washington on a hot streak at the moment. Ran Vikings super close but lost due to a bone headed penalty. Really hope Wentz stays injured /benched for the season, its so much more fun watching Heinicke.

Satan himself (Dan Snyder) has finally put the team up for sale so hopefully we will start to move into a brighter period. Front-runner to buy the franchise is Jeff Bezos with backing from Jay-Z and Matthew mcconaughey (who is a lifetime washington fan) amongst others.

The Packers are going down the drain. They have blown Rodgers best years when they should have won more than a single Superbowl and its downhill from hereon.

Yeah we beat them on Sunday and honestly they looked really bad. No weapons on Offense and Rodgers couldn't get anything going at all, and the sheer number of dumb penalties they committed was absurd. Rodgers looks a shell of his former self, but I do think thats mostly due to lack of weapons.

  10. @king canary - Quinn incoming for you guys.

I hate the Eagles, but you can do nothing but respect and admire what their FO has done for the last few years. Aggressive roster moves that have put you undefeated, holding the #4 overall pick in next year's draft and 2nd most cap space in the league despite eating $60mill in dead cap. I mean, that's just incredible whatever way you paint it.

I hope you win another SB this season, you guys deserve it imo. I'm incredibly jealous.

    👏👏👏

He announced on Talk TV that there were multiple breaches of the ministerial code. Cyber security documents were also involved in the mishandling.

Bit more detail in there. He's really thrown her under the bus, then got the driver to reverse the bus over her. Which is ironic, as that's one of the new immigration policies she was trying to put in place for asylum seekers.

  12. Kit Malthouse out as Ed Sec, I think that makes it 4 gone in the last 6 months? Good job the sector isn't already on its knees with a huge funding black hole.

OMFG. IM SEEING BON IVER ON MONDAY!!!!

Feels like it's been a lifetime coming around. I booked tickets about a year ago and since then I've had the most insanely difficult year with my partner's mum going from perfectly fine to dying 4 months later, a toxic ex, and moving 80 miles - new job, new house etc. Basically every kind of stress that could have happened, has happened.

I am so excited for this gig, its going to be so good. Feels like I've earned this one!

Bon Iver did not disappoint. The sheer musicianship of Justin Vernon is something else. The guy is just unbelievably talented. Playing a variety of instruments whilst also using a synth keyboard and sampling/looping samples live, whilst also singing.

He looked like he was loving every second of it but not in a showman type way of having a crowd etc, but he was just really enjoying making music and it was clear to see how into it and passionate he was. It was like 20,000 people watching him jam in his studio. Came across as really humble and a genuinely nice guy too.

The performance was exceptional, the staging and lighting was exceptional and we had a brilliant time 😊
