1. Ah. The quote I saw cut off the end of his sentence so it read "so I don''t expect anything else to happen".
If that''s the case and the journo''s missed the end of the sentence, then when it''s read in full, it''s much more ambiguous, and I see and take your point.
FWIW I don''t think we''ll get either Hooper nor RVW. If someone extra does come in then I expect it to be someone we haven''t been linked to at all!

  2.
i just messaged my Birmingham supporter buddy about this for a laugh and he replied... he does have a white range rover he parked next to me in the park on xmas eve
Sounds like he got wind of the Norwich lads having a night "at the dogs" and got a Stan Collymore-esque wrong end of the (metaphorical) stick.

  3.
Great game from him tonight! I never doubted his shot stopping, but he doesn''t fill me with confidence with his aerial ability.
To be fair to the lad, he was excellent in the air tonight. I agree with you, cuz his aerial ability is my main concern about him, but he looked much more confident and in control of his area than usual tonight.
All credit to him, he was outstanding tonight.

  4. Oops, forgot Johnson, he had one of his better games today. When he is on form he''s a helluva player, but when he''s off form he looks more like a rugby player!! Fortunately he was on it today. Tettey good too but to be honest, it''s hard to pick fault with anyone, Pilks was awesome too.

  5. Excellent performance, shame we couldn''t hang on for the win, but nothing to be ashamed of today (thank god!!).
The lads left it all on the pitch tonight and were only undone by a moment of magic.
My MOTM would be Holt or Snoddy, thought both were superb.
Honourable mentions to Bassong, Turner, and Wessi too. Thought Bunn looked like a different Keeper today, was much more assured so maybe bringing Camp in has given him a kick up the a$$ if nothing else, but really thought he was very, very good tonight.

I suspect that CambridgeYellow has picked the team that will walk out, with Whittaker needing a few more days. This follows CH''s commitment to 4-4-1-1, and his attempt to bolster a leaky defence by playing two very defensive midfielders as the only central midfielders, not that this policy has been successful recently (-perhaps other clubs have noted our inflexibility and made plans to thwart what little threat we pose?)

Howson is more creative going forward but looks out of place in front of the back four, and Surman rusty. I hope he will turn to one of these and be more attacking if (when) we fall behind. I would like to see Benn playing forward, but on the right rather than the left. Can Snoddy as a left footer not play on the left? I think Benno has pace, (does anyone else in the team have it?) and is good tackling back.

They all need to buck themselves up, and especially Wes and Pilks, who have both looked regularly under par.

Cambridge posted this just after it went up on the club''s twitter (goes up on there one hour before kick off), so it is the team that will walk out, he didn''t make it up, that''s the teamsheet.

I just speak the truth as I see it.........with an added touch of realisim...........if you can''t handle that bypass my threads.

As I said, if your views on here represent your real-life perspective, you must be incredibly miserable. When you spread your doom-mongering nonsense to the majority of threads on the board, it''s difficult to avoid, believe me I''ve tried. There''s no realism in what you post, just miserable boollooocks with an added touch of depressed nonsense.

There will be no new signings, I saw through the con from day 1, transparent it was.

You kicked off big time in the summer because people had a go at you for being a miserable bar steward.
"I''ve changed my ways blah blah blah" was your cry.
A leopard never changes his spots Wiz, your life must be truly miserable if you''re anything like as tedious, pessimistic, irritating and devoid of any kind of hope as you are on here.
Seriously, give it a rest instead of your incessant attention seeking doom mongering. Not only is it boring, it''s also an incredibly childish outlook.
You sound like a "depressed" 13 yr old emo kid.

  9.
Why are we Bashing Celtic? Norwich and Celtic have really good ties right now between the club playing the friendlies and testimonial.... So what they didn''t wanna give us their main striker for a price that we wanted to pay....Last year we would have not sold Grant Holt so why should they. Come on people stop the hate.
I think the hate is directed at that arrogant pr*ck Celtic fan who keeps posting all over the forum.

  10.
jas the barclay king wrote....''''land 1 of them at least and its a glimmer of hope, 2 and we stay up, 3 and all this sillyness is forgotten about.''''

I''m not going to forget! As soon as I saw the team picked to play I knew we were in trouble. I think it unforgivable that Hughton did not play his strongest side after the dross that''s been served up over the past few weeks. Team selection was crap, tactics were crap and us supporters have been treated with total disdain!

Totally unacceptable and the worst day of my 50years unwavering support for my beloved Canaries.

I don''t mind losing games when we have given our all but this was not the case against Luton.

Why on Earth would Hooper, Graham, van Wolfswinkel want to come to this shambles of a once proud club?

Heads should rightfully roll and quickly!!!!
With Spurs on Wednesday night and another game on Saturday, you think it''s a disgrace we didn''t play a full strength team against non-league opposition in a cup we''re actually better off not being in? Are you on crack or just a bit thick? Supporters treated with "disdain"? Tickets were £10, u honestly thought we''d play our first team? Im sure Hooper, Graham and RVW are DESPERATELY concerned with the performances of our reserve players (most of whom will be gone by September anyway, their fates were sealed long before today).
canaryfan68, personally, I can''t understand that view point at all. What exactly is wrong with Bassong, Snodgrass, Tettey, Whittaker, Turner, Bunn? Ok they might have some individual flaws, but all playing together they''ve done well. Most have done individually quite well. If we want Hughton to succeed we need to let him sign more players. He''s clearly struggling to work with some of Lambert''s lads, some fit in fine, some don''t. Some that don''t fit in have had the odd good game, but many you''d be quite happy to see leave, while (this stage?) last season you''d have been dead against it. If we want Hughton to succeed, and he''s shown he can, when HIS players were all fit, then we need to back him. If he had a whole squad he could rely on, I don''t think we''d have lost today, don''t think we''d go on too many 6 game winless runs and don''t think we''d all be so worried.
I think you''re right Ginger.

Too many of Lambert''s players are probably on the downside of realizing they won''t make it in the Prem after all.

Maybe we could move a couple of them on to him at Villa before Thursday starting with Howson and Ryan Bennett followed by Morison, Jackson?

Not often me and you agree on stuff historically Bly but today I find we are of a very similar mindset. Nice to see [:)]

  12.
I''m afraid that hiding our imeptitudes under the heading "It would just create too many fixtures" very much glosses over our real problems. We can play like this until the cows come home we will not generate enough points to avoid relegation. I watched Aston Villa against Millwall the other night and they performed at a level streets ahead of this rubbish. That should give you an idea of our problems.
Is that the same Aston Villa team containing 6 of their first choice 11 with 18million pound Darren Bent up front being one of the ones brought into the team, along with international goalkeeper Shay Given also being one brought in?

Compared to our team today with Garrido, a kid with little experience in goal, and 3 first team players coming off the bench for a combined total of 85mins. Maybe R Martin could be classed as first choice at a push, but he''s only starting cuz 1st choice Whittaker is injured so isn''t our best player at that position.
Our reserves are crap, but they are an entirely different team to our first 11. The only first choice player who started was Garrido. Additionally, many of them are leftovers from Lg1 and champs, whereas Villa haven''t had that problem.
Villas semi-first choice 11, with an added international goalkeeper and 18million pound striker is better than our team of 90% reserve players left over from the Lambert era. My god, definitely time for panic stations then. Are you incapable of rational thought and logic, or do you just enjoy the attention from posting nonsense? Of course Villa''s team performed better seeing as they cost around 40million to assemble and include proven premiership players, 6 of their starting 11 and various internationals.... and ours cost maybe 8 or so mill to put together, 1 first teamer (2 if you count Cafu), and 2 internationals (Russ and Simeon).

  13. Ignoring the bellend from Luton who clearly doesnt have any mates, or any better way to celebrate beating our reserves than being a complete knob on the internet (sounds like a very sad life imo), I''m going to join the exodus.
Our reserves lost to Luton in the cup and and it''s like the world just ended. This board is actually just full of tossers and people who know less than f**k all about football. And attention seeking children. And now a f**kwit from Luton who fills all of the criteria I just mentioned.

  14.
think its a stupid decision to play 3 out of 4 of the regular defenders
The ones who are only regulars due to injury you mean...?
Bassong, will be fit for weds. Whittaker on bench so obviously fit. Turner is on the bench.
The only first choice defender playing is Garrido so im not sure exactly who you''re referring to....
Please enlighten me as to who you would rather have seen start today?

  15.

Anyone able to translate this? Ones i tired make no sense at all but seem to ne abke to make out a few parts. Seems we have made an enquiry to me.....

    http://www.voetbalkrant.com/nl/nieuws/lees/2013-01-26/mbokani-zegt-nee-tegen-norwich
Mbokani is latest name linked with Norwich.  Player said "I am fully aware as nobody has heard of me there will be disappointment and anger on the Pink Un message board.  I understand I am not very famous in Norfolk and therefore I must be a waste of money and a living breathing example of the club''s lack of ambition if I were to join.  Sadly I have no intention of leaving my current club for Norwich City.  Therefore I remain a living breathing example of the club''s lack of ambition, even by not joining.  Trust this is clear."
To be fair Mbokani is not some unknown quantity. I''ve been aware of him since he was at Standard Liege, and I barely watch any European footie. I agree with your general point, but Mbokani isn''t some random name who no-one''s ever heard of from the Burkina Faso 3rd division. He''s been playing top flight European football for several years now.
