1. Thinking a bit more and the one I''d be really gutted to lose would be Naughton. Ok he may not sign for us anyway, but it would be a sickener for Lambert to take him to Villa.
2.
Many of the other names mentioned are simply pie in the sky, if Paul Lambert feels that we are not capable of fulfilling his ambitions, Roberto Di Matteo, Rafa Benitez, AVB, may not really be interested either.
I only wish to respond to this point - I think AVB is probably not going to be interested, but Di Matteo and Benitez clearly want to stay in the Prem - Swansea have just been given permission by Wigan to talk to Martinez''s Assistant Graham Jones and WBA look set to appoint that ex Scahlke boss. Correct me if I''m wrong but that leaves us as the only show in town for managers wanting to work in the Prem (aside from Chelski, but obviously this assumes they don''t appoint RDM - if they do, then the point still stands re: Benitez)
3. I''d be very happy with Holloway. The only one I don''t want off ur shortlist is McCarthy.
4.
Yes you have. Several times. Dating back several years. Get out of your own arse you prick. I understand moaning when there is something to moan about, but even when there isn''t, you are still moaning because you''re a miserable cnut.
Directed at cluck, sorry forgot to quote.

6. david mcnally ‏@davidmcnally62Despite what you may have heard today, Jonny Howson is not for sale. No chance. None. Not for sale and never has been. Collapse Reply  Retweeted  Favorite
7. I think it''s pretty certain IF they were considering selling Howson (which I find hard to believe anyway), they certainly won''t be now. No chance they''d risk the fan backlash.
8. I''ve been thinking about this. I''m more worried about him poaching players than I am about him leaving. Imo McNally needs to go nuclear over this and ban Villa from signing anyone from us for 2 years - Col U did similar to us for 12 months I remember.
9.
Im going to be cheering on Germany because I like the shape of there country.
Lol - You mean United Nations FC?
10. I get your drift also and agree with the sentiment, but Jurgen Klopp? The same Jurgen Klopp who is currently in charge at Bundesliga Champions Borussia Dortmund? He wouldn''t move to the Prem for anything outside of big 4. Way out of our league!
11.
Having looked at that list, very surprised by some of the names that could be available. Mick McCarthy, DiMatteo, Martinez, Holloway, Curbishley, Hughton all very good shouts and strong candidates. Would be happy with any of these, especially Holloway for the entertainment - it is only a game after all.
All except McCarthy. McCarthy would be terrible. Would be chuffed with any of the others.
12. Sorry to detract for the Lambert meltdown - but Hoffenheim saying Sigurdsson has NOT signed for Swansea - Link HERE
13.
Lambert can''t come back from this. He''s gone. Thanks for everything, but f**k you for making it end like this.
Spot on.
14. Thanks chris, much appreciated - it was doing my head in!!
15.
Some useful info
Just checking it works on chrome...
16. Hoddle? Thats a bizarre choice... wouldn''t make my top 100 let alone top 3!! Mine would be... Di Matteo Curbishley Poyet Hughton Holloway

18. ABC - Skysports is on a loop overnight, from 11pm onwards. It has been reported by various journos on twitter, the sun, the telegraph, the times all reporting it and Sky Sports presenter/one of our own Simon Thomas is tweeting about it. I agree it''s a bad move for Lambert, but this isn''t just some idle rumour, you''re setting yourself up for a fall here pal. MON is Irish and I doubt the England job (or any international job) is very interesting to someone as hands on as MON and Liverpool job wouldn''t interest him as he doesn''t like not having complete control of footballing matters.
19. Agree. Would be my first choice, but I''m not convinced he''d come here.
20. 100% agree. I went through the exact same thought process. I trust McNally 100% to get the right man for the job in to replace Lambo.
21. I have to say, I would be happy with this appointment. He always comes across as a decent enough bloke. The only worry I have is him being out of football for quite a while, but he certainly makes my top 3 on a shortlist.
22. Gutted but no point being bitter. Paul took us from League one basement to surviving the Prem for first time in 20 years. Remarkable job and he leaves with my thanks. Sad that it''s ended sourly, but life goes on. In McNally we trust.
23. I don''t know how this will play out, but Rodgers getting the Liverpool job will surely throw a spanner in the logic of Villa being a stepping stone for him. If he does a good job, the big clubs will seemingly come calling regardless of whether he is at Norwich or Villa. If that was a big factor (Im not saying it is, I know no more than any of you - except maybe BW) but if it were a significant factor - then Liverpool have done us a massive favour today.
24. This is the one thing that shames me about being Polish. I forget who said it was more of a problem in Poland than the Ukraine, but I disagree with this - it is a problem of all the former Soviet states in Eastern Europe equally, and I think you will find this when you go over to Ukraine. There is no hiding the fact that this goes on and it is utterly abhorrent and I condemn it 100%. I can only hope that having the Euros will help further intercultural relations in Poland but I fear we may see some ugly scenes, that is my one great worry about us being the host nation. Poland have recently had a black (Nigerian) Centre Forward (Emmanuel Olisadebe) and a "naturalised" Brazilian (Roger Guerrerio) playing for the national team and a significant proportion of the fanbase accepted them, but there were signs saying "Roger: You''ll never be Polish" and similar at several games. It is a real problem of the former Soviet block who never really experienced the levels of migration that other countries did. This should in no way be interpreted as an excuse, just simply a statement of fact. There is something like 2000 different Neo-Nazi Skinhead gangs in Russia and there are plenty in Poland and Ukraine too, although i don''t have figures for this. Stupid as Poland is a nation which lost 6 million people to the nazis and suffered horrendously, you think that the Polish people would have some sort of conscience about racism.
