1. Liverpool fans can say what they want but why did they boo young Adeyemi and then start singing about Saurez.
2. Learn to read. I said running and passion only. I''m not saying the top skill teams do not play with hard-working pressing games. We simply cannot hold the ball against top teams, and we will get punished for it, far more so than against our relegation rivals.
3. We''re a team that lacks skill. We will always have a more torrid time against the best teams than some of our rivals, because as many have found against barca, running and passion can only do so much. I''m not surprised we haven''t replicated the great performances of say Old Trafford because invariably skill will beat hard-work and organisation. But that said, apart from the top 6 matches and WBA where we didn''t turn up and Villa where we made horrendous mistakes, we have not deserved to lose. Those games are against our rivals and that should see us good alone. That said, we always improved as the season progresses under lambert, and we will add some quality in January.
4. Legal and free at yahoo football. Sorry I can''t link, as I am on my phone.
5. I watched the Spurs goals again and something dawned on me. Last year the defending for those goals would have been deemed good. For the first we crowded adebayor tight and forced him to make a difficult pass. For the second we showed bale out wide and to run away from goal. But then last year we were playing in the championship and 99 times out of 100 I reckon we wouldn''t have conceded from either situation. Looking back at many of the goals we have challenged the other team to have a go, more often than not they fail but when they succeed it stands out. Of course this strategy is a spring board for a counter-attacking offence which we''ve done well but I''m a little concerned that the coaching for these players (who are almost exclusively from the lower leagues) is geared towards a less clinical opposition. But that is obviously also something that can be taught and developed.
6.
"the idiots in the snakepit" is not the same thing as "The Snakepit are idiots" though, is it?Can''t be denied however that there are a sizeable number of knuckle dragging single figure IQ f*cktards in the Snake Pit.
Semantics Chops. It was a pretty universal chant. For the record I thought it was rather humorous, the first time.
7. According to The Guardian...http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2011/dec/27/norwich-city-tottenham-hotspur-premier-league"Then, a lightning, trademark break from Tottenham, instigated by Modric, allowed Bale a free run on Ruddy. He accepted it with relish, drew the goalkeeper from his line and delicately dinked the ball over him. For once, thankfully, the idiots in the Snakepit fell quiet."
8. I should have put a disclaimer for statto''s: You will become hooked to this site!(and my apologises we had 74% passing against Newcastle vs 73% today, otherwise my point remains the same.)
9.

Our passing percentage was higher today than in our previous 5 games...
Source?
http://www.whoscored.com/

11. Good report as ever Ricardo.http://www.soccerstats.com/team.asp?league=england&teamid=18We''ve lost 2 times in the 12 "non-top-six" games we''ve played. Keep that up and we will stay up. As Ricardo says, these games will not decide our fate and that is very thankful as these losses do hurt. Spurs were in another league today, and I think that would have been the case against almost anybody.
12.

The results are really important. I don''t think any of the bottom three are as bad as their standing and goal points make out. Wigan seem capable of good performances but unable to convert them into wins for whatever reason, Blackburn would be a mid-table candidate without Kean and Bolton have had some of the cruellest injury problems. I personally see the Wolves game as a must lose, as I can''t help but feel that they are one of the weaker teams (particularly minus Fletcher) and QPR look poor and I was not convinced despite their solid start.
I''d rather see us win to be honest.......[;)]
What an unfortunate typo!I just don''t want to see those lovely wolves fans get any more upset. Otherwise they might be getting out the banners again...
13. Wolves really struggle against teams with passing and movement, which make their biggest strengths in tackling and strength completely nullified. I''d like to see us play Fox, Johnson and Hoolahan and run them into the ground with Bennett, Pilkington and Morison. Then get Holt on after 60 and batter them into a pulp.

15. Chelsea have comfortably turned a corner, Wigan haven''t. Good Value too, Chelsea away win. Good luck everyone!
16. Congrats Inchy! Absolutely brilliant, and no more deserving of the "prestigious" 3 club [:P]And I''ll join in with the thanks to Nutty, we wouldn''t be here right now if it wasn''t for you Eddie. Thank you!
17. I quite liked the "we''ll score when we want" chant. Rather clever.
18.
David Fox attempted 78 passes yesterday (20 more than Kyle Naughton who attempted the second most) and his pass completion rate was 83 %. This indicates what Fox does, he gets the ball passes it to a team mate and remains open to receive the return pass. It his ability and composure in possession that allow players like Hoolahan, Crofts, Surman, Holt and Morison to make the runs that lead to goal scoring opportunities. Out of all the Premier League games played yesterday Fox attempted the most passes of any midfielder and was only behind Ashley Williams (85 attempted) and Laurent Koscielney (79 attempted) that''s pretty impressive.
If you discount set-pieces the percentage is even higher. Furthermore he attempts more long-balls than any of his contemporaries in midfield, yet still retains an incredibly high pass percentage, a testament to his ball playing ability and his read of the game.
19. I''ve only just realised that I''ve forgot to make a nap this week!! Sorry!Good luck later on today Inch! Brilliant so far!My nap is Panionios to lose to Panathinaikos, Away Win.
20. Whenever the England National Team lose the lack of home-grown players is always whipped out as a stick to beat the Premier League. I find it amazing that so little is made out of our team being all British (bar the Irish Maestro) and all have come from youth teams and made their way through the leagues. Our team is a testament to the hard-work and perseverance that many young British players possess but feels lacking in the "foreign legion".
21.
In my opinion,... Fox ... don''t possess the alround quality for a first team call up week in week out.
I think keeping the ball and passing to your team-mates is the most important quality in football.
22. Holt, Hoolahan and Fox are the spine of this team. No surprise we stormed to victory today.
23. Beth is spot on 4-4-1-1. At home we see a lot more out of the wide players so it''s a natural 4-2-3-1. I think it''s ideal. If we need to defend a lead then it can revert back to a defensive 4-4-1-1, if we need to press, then the attacking diamond is perfect and was incredibly effective in the past two years at getting goals late on as it helps press defenders very high up the pitch. The important thing is that we have the players available and suitable for all these formations, and particularly for transitioning to the diamond, we have on the bench Grant Holt who is probably one of the most effective short-term game changes in the league.
24. That was so close it was unreal, hard luck Mr. Bump! I honestly thought it was sown up last night.
25. Micah Richards? I recall he was around 17 when called up, but can''t remember Man City ever winning the Youth Cup.
