  1. Martyn influenced many, including Sheeran. So although you're having a little joke there, it's not all that far removed than you think, just a different package for a different generation. It's likely that If Sheeran was an underground artist doing the same thing, the snobs would all be up his ****.
  2. ...that could cause us damage. 🙂
  3. Wasn't the singer from Busted or McFly an Ipswich fan?
  4. It's one thing to label music as simple or unchallenging and criticise it as personal opinion. But it's a whole other thing to set a threshold and attempt to denounce others on that basis, doing so is a prime example of elitism in music. Go to any school kids talent show and see someone performing "Sheeran music" solo with an acoustic and tell them they don't care.
  5. I don't like him myself, but I hate elitism around music like this. Liking Ed Sheeran doesn't mean you lack care for music, and to give him some credit he's one of the few top artists who is regularly holding a guitar in his hand. It's mainstream, sure, but he's responsible for many kids picking up a guitar today.
  6. Wagner ruled him out in the presser after Leicester (6:08): Or, was that a little wink from his left eye? 😉
  7. Must admit, I quite like it all. Bring it on, makes a nice change to our own moaners we have to put up with each week.
  8. I remember way back either Ch4 or Ch5 going big into Kabaddi thinking they could raise it's profile over here.
  9. I could be wrong, but the more convoluted it becomes, the more that short-term factors and hesitation play into this, too? We're already in debt with MA, we know that wheels are in motion, but whether we sneak through to the prem league or not this season must dramatically change how things progress and affects the (perceived?) value of the club. There would be no better time for Delia/MWJ to walk if we did somehow manage promotion, perhaps this is now in consideration? I honestly don't know how swift something like that could happen from this point though. As Toyah once sang....
  10. It's possible they've looked at what Arteta has done at Arsenal and considering that it may be a better option than previous attempts of bringing in managers with reputation. McKenna is someone who can grow alongside the players brought in, and has plenty of experience as an assistant at United too, so he knows the pressure. If an approach was to happen, it would be interesting to see what the ITFC owners would do to protect their ticket to the prem league. For the sake of losing what they have, having to bring a new management team in and potentially go backwards - would they consider giving him a stake in the club, for example?
  11. https://www.sportskeeda.com/indian-football/news-single-greatest-sports-growth-economy-story-former-general-secretary-premier-league-nic-coward-rise-sporting-market-india We had people at that conference, so i'd imagine we're just securing a link in anticipation of that growth. Interestingly Lotus also announced it was entering the Indian market the same month, maybe there's a little incentive to display their logo where our badge features?
  12. I've more trust in Wagner than I have Knapper right now, and if he got us up i'd have so much more too - so i'd want Knapper to be very clear in his vision if this were to happen.
  13. This reminds me very much of the hype Mumba had last season, so it's likely we'll cash out on Kamara should Portsmouth get promoted. Omobamidele we cashed out on, Mumba we cashed out, Idah looks like we're in the process off cashing out, Tzolis we're mid-cashout. etc. etc. It's no wonder we faced Leicester at the weekend with very few options out wide so we had to put Sara there while our CBs struggle to play basic balls around. Honestly, if he looks like he's worth 1-2 million probably best to not get excited of the thought of him coming back and doing a number here. I feel like one of the moaners now, perhaps it's just a spot of post-bank holiday blues and watching the scum pull it out the bag last night. 😉
  14. I perceived it as a coach who's not confident in his players, otherwise he would've kept at least one up top as an outlet and certainly would've utilised Hooijdonk if he had any belief in the lad.
  15. They went into administration before that, after building their stadium, too. It's great if someone comes save you, as they inherent all that came before at a bargain rate. My worry would be if anyone would even come to our rescue - MA had his arm bent, and still seems to be taking the smallest steps possible.
  16. I just can't see how playing two up top but having neither of those as an outlet when we sat back made any sense. It just allows the opposition to squeeze, and it was obvious what was coming. Very sad to see us play in that fashion, I could understand it if we're giving them something to think about when we break - but we were just handing them possession.
  17. He was having those suctions caps on his back in one of his other videos too, and it wasn't a mild treatment of it. You're right, it's going to take some to keep key players fit and maximising the minutes they're on the field - The use of Sarge has been brilliant so far though, so fingers crossed.
  18. If we're going to start getting some tunes in, let's have some proper ones:
  19. Yeah, there's a lot of places that you can walk past and not even know exist, I only just found out about the marble hall start of this week. Totally unaware of what was in there.
  20. £9m in debt to the owners, what a celebration for the game. Impressive revenue though, is that through the merch they sell on the back of having hollywood owners?
  21. He can bet, he's just banned from attending race meetings I thought? As for why, betting is intwined across sport and the more expendable cash you have the more likely you'll have a flutter perhaps? Few of my mates who rarely go out anymore just sit at home all night playing poker, and their other half is on the bingo, and kids are left to do as they please - just glad I've never been sucked in by it as it's a horrible addiction.
  22. This is a really enjoyable watch, seemed that he really liked the area and the club treated him very well. I've seen his twitter/x name mentioned on here with certain posts that cc has linked to in the past, so thought it was relevant to share: Is it me, or would he also make a great Russ Martin lookalike? 🙂
  23. Read the words of the Polish anthem if you've not already, it's clear why they feel passionate. We should appreciate how lucky it is that we've not got the same story to tell, or the relevance of how they're currently one border away from a war right now. I think it's wrong to be envious of that, personally. Furthermore, Any anthem would need to be as inclusive as possible to represent how much more diverse our society is today. What you'd be left with would likely be less patriotic, generic, and deliberate avoidance of significant historical events or religious elements. This whole process would likely cause yet more rifts among society as s result. I think we're best just leaving as is personally, for me it's less about the song, but rather about having an identity that we're familiar with. There's just too much division going on already to even contemplate going down this rabbits hole.
  24. Please don't tell me he lays flat across both seats. I thought this was an act of kindness to accommodate his friends daughter wanting to attend games. Perhaps i've watched too many Disney cartoons in my life. 🤔
