  1. Feel for Coventry there, so much fight. Hull Ipswich is going to be a bit of quandary now, hope for a draw I guess! 🙂
  2. Coventry, 7 years in the making under Robins. I'd not write them off, even if Hull went a few up. Get the feeling Cov are going to score first on the break though, watching this.
  3. We shouldn't be in playoffs if we can't beat the likes of Birmingham.
  4. Evidence for what exactly, Did you read the full statement?
  5. Club would sell already available casual tickets first at premium, though. The only way this would work is if they discounted all available seats in the final 24 hours prior to kickoff - at which point people will just sit and wait for those reductions and it would undermine the entire pricing and availability which as demonstrated is working better than vast majority of clubs. The logistics of managing opt-outs and linking those to specific promotional prices are vast, on top of that, what do the club do when you walk to your ST seat and there's someone sat there with a valid ticket and you're adamant you haven't opted out? Not everyone is good with technology and this would have to be an online system. What many casuals want is a bunch of seats together that doesn't cost £100, so they can make a night of it with their partner and kids and perhaps grab some food out. But usually you get 1 and 2's left over that go unsold. This is why terracing was so much better as it was just done on numbers. I wish there was an easy solution, such as free seated areas where you pay to sit in that section but there's no pre-defined seat number, and in this area season tickets are reduced and do have the 'opt out' compensation, as logistically it's much easier to manage. If there's a group of you, you just make sure to get up there early.
  6. > Attack tree with rusty old lever I do not understand 'with rusty old lever' > Attack Robert with Mace of Pinkunian Robert isn't here to hit with the Mace of Pinkunian, Tinker your helpful companion is by your side. > Ask Tinker where Robert is She says that Robert is sitting under his tree of enlightenment > Go to Tree You cannot see a Tree, there are exits to the North and East > Go East You walk off a cliff. GAME OVER
  7. They get funny if you suck on the lipstick testers in there though, so i won't be going back in for a long long time... Even if they allowed me to.
  8. Siren going off in Connor's car right now, as he's happily perusing the meal deal range inside Sainsbury's. Paddy buried the siren 4 years back.
  9. I'd always welcome cheaper ticket prices. But pricing is always going to be based on a supply and demand model, and in that regard there's not much to fix is there? : 'Real' Stadium attendance is a nationwide problem due to cost of living, and I think we're one of the better in that regard also. Are you suggesting the club should offer out cheap seats to casuals on the day? It'd be nice to know the relevance and point being made here.
  10. We saw this with Sky pundits and the whole ESL debacle too, they were concerned about their relevance in the game which is what made them speak up. If they were part of the deal it would've been a completely different reaction.
  11. Or put a counter on the big screen and clubs have to outbid each other, after each bid there's a 5 second timer and when it expires the winner gets the decision. It fits in with how the rest of the sport is built around money, and at least we're under no illusions then. It'd make the champions league final more entertaining, at the least.
  12. Not sure it matters, as Bristol City showed, and Boro tonight.
  13. I think it's further jobs for the boys too, think of all those extra officials and training programs due to VAR. Just like broadcasters, players, foreign investors and sponsors - all trying to get their slice of the money pie.
  14. Quite an interesting video on the matter, if you have an hour to kill:
  15. I expect they want transparency to hear the decision process and reasoning for each of the situations. From that i'd imagine if they were to go further they would then seek to further progress this with examples of similar decisions being given (i.e. lack of consistency) in other games and thus their legal team build evidence to see if there's a case to be had. Fact that they notified PGMOL regarding Atwell being allowed to VAR the match is most likely a secondary matter, one which has pushed them over the edge on this subject.
  16. First that springs to mind: Portugal - Pinto France - Lees Melou Germany - Zimmermann Spain - Pacheco Netherlands - Ricky Belgium - Tettey (I know this is wrong, but was first name that sprung to mind lol). Poland - Placheta Noway - Normann Sweden - Olsson Finland - Pukki Brazil - Sara Argentina - Emi I need to add a few more though: England - Ashton Scotland - Fleck Wales - Bellamy
  17. Don't forget that Clattenburg works at Forest as a Referee analysis or something along those lines, himself and Webb both being well respected officials. Clattenburg had to be complicit in Forest highlighting Atwell being a Luton fan before the match, and you'd expect he knows most of the allegiances behind the scenes. I feel that both sides have to double down or, as you say, their roles become untenable. I think it's most likely Clattenburg steps down and this doesn't get very far. If this did go through legal proceedings he would be key for Forest, but would he be willing to rat on his mates?
  18. VAR has redefined the offside rule, it's purpose was to prevent players seeking an unfair advantage, of which this isn't. It's also redefined the handball rule. The end point will be AI officiating, and thus more dumbing down of people skills. All coming to a workplace near you!
  19. Just listening to to TalkSport and they've read out a message from Michael Oliver (Newcastle fan), and he said that they have to declare who they support and any family members at clubs that could affect their bias. This is why he wasn't allowed to officiate for Newcastle or Sunderland games, and when Newcastle where part of relegation battles he couldn't be involved in relegation matches either. So why an earth was Atwell allowed to VAR after Forest had pointed out his allegiances pre match? If what Oliver has said is a known rule, then I can totally understand why Forest exposed this and made their complaint public, it's a pisstake. Edit: Looks like it was from a 2021 interview here: "I never referee Newcastle games, We have to declare if we have an allegiance to any club or if a family member works at a club. You can’t do any match involving that team and I can’t do Sunderland, either, for obvious reasons. "Because Newcastle are invariably involved in a relegation battle, when you get to March or April, it means I can’t referee anyone around them towards the bottom three.
  20. Football On This Day – 19th April 2016 When the PA announcer at the Rochdale v Gillingham League 1 match made an appeal for a car owner to return to his vehicle because the car lights had been left on the owner was a bit preoccupied. He was playing in the match! Rochdale's Callum Camp got one of the backroom staff to sort out his problem - then went on to score Rochdale's goal in the 1-1 draw.
  21. Interesting... https://www.efl.com/news/2024/april/19/efl-statement--fa-cup-replays/
  22. I was dead set against the ESL, but with the decisions being made to cater for the 'big boys' i'm now almost of this opinion too. What concerns me is that it becomes an irreversible change, billionaires get their wishes, the sport just becomes a global franchise, and ultimately places like Saudi become the host venue for many of our top domestic teams. Clubs outside of the ESL get dropped by their owners who had plans for the 'big time', that would include us. I think it would cause so much ruin, as the whole idea of the sport is that you push up the pyramid to play the best. I'd prefer for authorities to grow some balls and push back on owners/clubs demands. And the government to declare that clubs must remain in domestic leagues, so if there was any clubs walking away they'd have to do it under a new franchise ('Red Devils', 'Gunners' etc), new stadium, the lot. That way they can **** off and we'd be left with the same structure that was built domestically within a less corrupt environment... Almost like a snake shedding it's skin. Winds me up, really it does.
