1. If you are writing/reading out a list of scores or putting the result at the head of a report then you would always read the home team first. So in your example Manchester United 1 Norwich City 4 would be correct. But if you are referring to a score within the main body of a report/article I think it is perfectly fine to say ''Norwich beat Manchester United 4-1''.
 2.
Every manager since peter grant has played him and none of them have let him ever leave on a permanent basis.
I reckon he must be amazing in training [:P]
 3. Stood in the River End in the mid-eighties with my Dad and then just as I started getting on the bus with my mate to stand in the Barclay they made it all seater! I think I may have only stood in the Barclay once (or it may have been twice at most). I have a vague recollection of an FA Cup game against Notts County and Chris Sutton scoring but my rapidly ageing mind might be playing tricks on me.Last time I stood was away at Reading in 1998 in what was the last game at Elm Park. Flecky was playing for Reading if I recall correctly. Wish I was going tomorrow but don''t get to many games these days.Would love to see safe standing brought in like they have in Germany. But sadly I don''t think it will ever happen.
 4.
All I can say is thank God for that.   The media obsession with Ba''s future over the last few months has been so tedious.  Who really cares? He is not that good nor that important a player to warrant all this media coverage.
1) He is the third highest scorer in the Premier League.2) He plays for a reasonably large club and will be transferred to one of the biggest clubs in the country.3) There are interesting sub-plots with both his buy out clause and his previously failed medical. It is January and every potential transfer takes on extra significance because it is so difficult to get it right. Add in the above factors which make it easier to cobble together a story and it is no surprise that this potential transfer is being talked about more than most.
 5. We had this last year (as Nutty points out with 94/95 being substituted for Blackpool) an it made no sense then either. We we never in a relegation battle last year and there is no reason to suspect that we will be this year. Bring in a couple more players in January and we should be looking to hold our position in the top ten and the possibility of qualifying for Europe (with any luck Chelsea will win the Milk Cup to free up an extra space from league position) rather than worrying what the likes of Reading and QPR are up to.
 6.
A Wembley final would have been a distraction we ( and Villa) don''t really need right now.
Is this the mindset of the majority of football fans these days? That a Wembley final would be ''a distraction''. I always thought that the prospect of actually winning something was the reason that we put up with the assorted dross in the bad old days of Grant/Roeder/Gunn. Didn''t we (and presumably the vast majority of our players) dream of playing in a Wembley final as children. But now the possibility of winning a trophy is ''a distraction''. ''A distraction'' from what exactly?Let''s hope we don''t stay around the top six for too much longer. Imagine what ''a distraction'' it would be if we accidentally qualified for Europe [:''(][:''(][:''(]
 7.
The question is fairly simple, which Premier League player would you sign?Ozil, Pato, Messi????
A question far too difficult for around half of those who have responded it would seem [:D]
For me, I would like to see the money invested in a cloning device, to recreate Wes Hoolahan 11 times.
Glad you''ve finally seen the light [;)]I''d go for Berbatov. No idea whether he would fit in but he is clearly the coolest footballer in the Premier League. He''s a throwback to the days when people didn''t take football quite so seriously.
 8. Three games seems harsh to me. Everyone should get a free punch/headbutt against Stoke to even things up a bit.[:D]
 9. You should definitely watch it. One of the best, possibly the best, sitcoms of all time. And George Costanza is undoubtedly my favourite comedy character.I miss coming on here and chatting about music and TV. Shame this place is dead these days.
 10.
Guest of Keys and Gray on now talking about his troubles.
Do you have shares in Talksport?[;)]
 11.
US comedies. Best Big Bang Theory. Took me a while to get into it but now find it one of the only comedies that can make me genuinely laugh at the moment. Worst. How I Met Your Mother. Dreadful. Full of unfunny, whiny twits whinging about relationships. Not a fan.
No mention of Seinfeld or Curb? Shame on you all [:D]
 12. Is it beyond the realms of possibility that we could lose 2-1? I know you all love to play the victim on here and harp on about this anti-Norwich media bias but you really should stop being so sensitive. Lawro, and the rest of the tits on MOTD, consistently show that they know next to nothing about modern football so why get so upset. There is plenty of decent analysis available on the internet and some of it is even complimentary to Norwich so why not focus on that instead.
 13. According to The Fiver he didn''t even travel with the intention of going to the game -"I was in Genoa for a work meeting and usually take a trip round the area around this time of year, but it was pure coincidence Udinese were playing there at the same time" – wine merchant Arrigo Brovedani, the only Udinese fan to turn up for their 2-0 Serie A win at Sampdoria, reveals he hadn''t even made the trip specifically for the game.I think I''m right in saying that there just isn''t the same tradition of following your team away from home in Italy as there is in this country. I don''t know if it is geographical (Italy is over twice the size of England) or cultural but it is not uncommon to see very few away supporters at fixtures. Thinking about it this might not just be an Italian thing either. The commentators always make a big thing out of how few away Barca/Real fans there are at El Clásico.
 14.
Just further proof as if it was needed is that Talk Sport is just a haven for trolls and morons.
Fixed that for you Paul [Y][;)]
 15. Right. As I work in insurance (Boooooooo!!!) albeit not on the motor side here is some advice.1. Naming your wife/mother/father on your insurance is not illegal. Taking out a policy in your parents name for a car that you own and noting yourself as a named driver is. It is called ''fronting''. However any insurer that is doing their job properly (which is evaluating risk just in case you weren''t aware of this) is going to ask you why your Mother is being named on a policy covering her Son''s banger when she is also named on a policy that covers a family car. In terms of risk the fact that your Mother might occasionally drive your car does nothing to prevent you from crashing it. You will get away with some companies it but there are downsides to their casual attitudes which leads me to.....2. ........As difficult as it is to stomach don''t just choose the cheapest insurer. Although the insurance industry is regulated by the government (just like the banks were [:D]) there are still plenty of providers who will stitch you up. Make sure you compare cover as well as price as saving £25 now might cost you in the long run in terms of cover gaps or a higher excess. Check the service charges as some will add these for all manner of things including paying by installments or making mid-term changes such as a change in vehicle or driver. There are many providers who will ''buy in'' customers one year only to whack their prices up the year after and make it difficult for you to change because they leave it so late to invite renewal. Make sure you know your rights and how far in advance you should be presented with renewal documents. Try looking at industry awards as well as price and check out consumer awards for motor insurance by the likes of Which?3. Suck it up. You are a young driver and as such you are more likely to have an accident. I had to pay higher premiums when I was your age and the only claim I have ever made (for an accident which was my fault) was in my first couple of years of driving. Explore any legal ways you can reduce your premiums such as mileage limits, advanced courses etc. Build up your NCD and when you get to 25 you should see a decent reduction.
 16. Isn''t the answer Manchester City? Stoke are the third highest net spender.
 17.
What the reporter is saying is that he has no working knowledge of our players.
No. What the reporter is saying is that he has no working knowledge of football. Garrido at Roma? Who knew? Alan Shearer ''earns'' a living as a football ''expert'' despite claiming to not know who Hatem Ben Arfa was before he signed for Newcastle. If they don''t know anything about players who have been in Champions League teams then what chance do ours have?
 18. Did they really make out that we were lucky? I just don''t see it. The only thing that matters is where we are in the league. There are no extra points for being praised by Lawro, TalkShite or MOTD.Every thread like this makes us look like a bunch of hillbillies with a chip on our shoulders. Stop embarrassing us and show a bit of class instead. Swansea were good today and they deserve some credit.
 19.
Get back to your gangja you drooling old codger And we all know who this is aimed that. How dare he violate the sanctity of the Inner Circle? How dare he "crack the ring"!
And you''re accusing somebody else of smoking illegal substances?
 20.
I made the point in my EDP column the other week that we''ve moved on from Roy of the Rovers and are playing grown up football this season. Hopefully we''ll see a bit more grown up support too.
As much as I like you Beau a ''grown up supporter'' would not seek to dismiss what the previous manager did as ''Roy of the Rovers'' in an attempt to defend the present manager who can point to results as proof that his method is working without needing to denigrate previous efforts. We will succeed by combining the approaches of Lambert and Hughton and attempting to pass one off as better than the other is misguided in the extreme. I saw a lot of reasoned posting last night which wanted us to be better in the final third from posters such as Gingerpele and LDC which far outweigh the one line ''Hughton is negative'' nonsense spouted by the herd. Join in with that and ignore the rest. As for the OP I didn''t think Holt and Hoolahan were that great last night. Holt put in a shift which is the least you should expect from any modern striker but although Nutty says Hoolahan was the most creative player on the pitch it is not saying much in a game so devoid of quality. I am regularly the most creative player in the garden when I play football with my kids but they just cannot read my passes [;)]
 21. I believe that this is the wording of the handball rule.Law 12 - Fouls and MisconductA direct free kick is awarded if a player handles the ball deliberatelyHandling the ball involves a deliberate act of a player making contact with the ball with his hand or arm. The referee must take the following into consideration: - the movement of the hand towards the ball (not the ball towards the hand) - the distance between the opponent and the ball (unexpected ball) - the position of the hand does not necessarily mean that there is an infringement Now it looked to me as if there was no movement of the hand towards the ball and the ball was flicked on from a relatively short distance which both indicate that it should not be considered deliberate. I appreciate that footballers can deceive the referee, although I would suggest it is more difficult to simulate an undeliberate handball than it is a foul tackle, but that is no reason to change a rule that looks fairly simple to understand. The rule is fine it is the understanding of players, managers, fans and the media that is the problem.
 22.
Does it have to be deliberate? And even if it wasn''t, it helped him a lot. I can''t think of many times a hand ball like that, clearly knocking the ball into his path that hasn''t resulted in a FK. I don''t know what kind of view the ref had, but if he''d seen it clearly i''d have thought he''d have given it. And even if you do say it wasn''t a deliberate hand ball, fair goal. Its still very very lucky goal. Hits his arm, into his path, takes a deflection off a Norwich player, into his path, easy finish. Snodgrass hit a low FK, keeper probably wasn''t expecting it, it was a bad mistake. But Lambert was just as lucky as Snoddy in my opinion.
Of course it has to be a deliberate handball for it to be a free kick. I can''t believe you actually have to ask that. I am not suggesting it was not a lucky goal but I''m not convinced the referee made a mistake as is claimed here.
 23. That final pass/cross/shot isn''t quite there at the moment and everyone takes their share of the blame for that including Grant Holt. But past form suggests he will go on a goalscoring run at some stage and if he does that when we are already on an unbeaten run then we will be laughing. A lot of people are criticising Hughton for being overly negative but I''m not sure he is. He is just not as attack minded as Lambert which is not entirely surprising.
