  1. I’ve never really got the hype some supporters have towards him. He could improve with more experience of playing in England but he’s nearly 26 now.
If he stays, like a few of our players, he’ll  be good in the championship. Just don’t see him being good enough at the top level. Especially his end product. I don’t see much difference between him and Hernandez to be honest.

Yeah, I've now caught up in that.  Not a good look, but don't think the club has the structure to deal with this other than Smith & Jones handing him his cards - with a likely substantial pay off to him and his missus!  For a self funding club, that's akin to hari-kari!

He’s on a rolling year contract I think so it was always going to be the case of paying him off this specific amount. I can’t see how he can stay on now and expect him gone at the end of the season or sooner.

As you will see, although Webber may have been attempting to discuss his position, his better half just got him (and herself) outta there pronto.  Where is the public statement from the club on this?  Or perhaps its delayed as there is an internal investigation ongoing commissioned by the board?  😆

This is the second incident apparently. The first time he came out he was reported to have been blowing kisses and smirking before being ushered back indoors.

  4. I’ve said for a while this is one of the most physically weak sides I’ve seen of ours. Opposition just seem To walk through our challenges. Mobility is another huge issue. Especially in CM. We’re too slow to close down efficiently and attacks just seem so laboured.
The only time I’ve seen any drive in this area is from Williams when he went on one of his runs. I actually think he’d make a really good box to box midfielder. This really needs addressing, like the fans have been saying for ages.

  5. On twitter there’s numerous people talking about the confrontation, between Webber and the fans, after the game. Most people would have seen the video. Apparently there was an earlier incident as well. They claim Webber was blowing kisses and repeatedly having to be being pushed back inside.
I wasn’t there to witness it so obviously could be rubbish.

Posters want all sorts of things but few of them are realistic. Point me to the Sporting Director or equivalent of any club who has given the sort of interview you want while in their job.

Jeez, there are some blinkered and entitled posters for on this thread (not aimed at you Jim). How many of you give “100%” in your jobs? Do you not keep some of yourselves back for your family, your friends, your out of work activities? How many people who work at football clubs aren’t constantly evaluating their position and looking at where they might go next.

Posters seem unable to comprehend that players and staff are almost never supporters of the club where they work. It’s a job to them. We are fortunate to have someone in the SD job who has been very good at it - look at the performance of all comparable size clubs (not just those you cherry pick), look at the funding we have and then tell me we aren’t outperforming.

Nobody wants 100% of his whole life. Just to be fully committed to the cause. He’s admitted not being able to give it his all as he wants to do other things and our owners are fine with this.

Majority of posts are certainly upset with the article. He has always seemed arrogant which I never thought was a problem because that is his personality. But he seems to be swapping arrogance for infallibility in the article.

Its very similar to what is happening in politics at the moment. Only the kudos will do. No sense of being responsible for failure. And which ever way you look at it, this season, including the close season, has been a failure. And one which is even more galling because he gave us hope with his quotes about arming the coach.

Also saying relegation doesn’t upset him means his failures both bother him.

From WOTB. A very good summation of the situation and until you get this you'll just spend hours ranting.

He's doing a job which he said he'd leave this summer but was asked to stay by people he deeply respects. He probably added some caveats to him staying such as him going up some mountains and giving Neil the day to day running of the club.
I just don't get all the hate for him. He's not the messiah by nay means and he's has definitely made mistakes, just like at every single other football club in the country.
100% there would have been a different reaction to this article if it had been released this time last year.

The problem for me is our owners accepting this from him. If he wants to scale mountains good luck to him. Our owners have a duty to employ the best people who give their best and ultimately who actually care if we get relegated. Can season ticket holders pay 90% of their fee next year also as this seems acceptable?

Vlad you swine! I've already put a thread up about this! 😱 Oh well... 😆

The big take away I got from Mr 90%s interview is that it seems we don't need a Sporting Director at certain times of the year.

‘You did Kilimanjaro in January.’ Yes, I did, because we had zero funds to sign a player. What am I going to do? Sit in my office for 30 days?'

It appears he literally has nothing else to do. Poor chap; that must be quite demoralising. Why didn't we set him to weeding the Colney allotment or he could have made and served tea and scones for players and guests? Maybe he could have got elbow deep in the Carrow Road sh1tters after supporters have had a particularly fulsome bowel movement?

Sorry mate, didn’t see your post.
The more I read the interview the more I dislike the guy. 👎🏻

He says he tried to leave  but Delia and Michael begged him to stay. The owners seem happy for him to give 90%  and pursue his other interests instead of replacing him.

That’s a huge problem. The fact the owners begged him to stay, after he said he won’t give 100%, tells you everything you need to know. They get too personal with staff and let it effect their decision making.

Fair play for what he is doing. However, would you get this at any of the other clubs we want to be competing with. With our self funded model and having to watch the pennies wouldn't we need to be working twice as hard as a club? Sounds like we are being that nice club again, webber sounds like he's on his way out, feels like he's more of an advisory role in transition with Adams in line. Would mean no breaks in his CV either for future work.... I was director of football whilst also climbing mountains.

Exactly. Comes across very unprofessional. If a sporting director says to the owner I can only give 90% to this job then you should sack him on the spot.
Also not getting angry and upset at relegation is very telling.

Being paid a massive salary at the end of each month is also "a win."

I suppose it reveals the difference between supporting the club because it is your job and supporting the club because it is your love.

Yeah it comes across as his job at Norwich is getting in his way 😁.  He doesn’t sound as committed as someone should be in such an important role. Really think it’s time he moved on.

A few quotes that stuck out to me.

I sleep easy at night because ultimately as I said to Delia and Michael, ‘If 90 per cent of me isn’t enough, it’s fine because I’m already ready to walk out the door. I’m ready for the next stage of my life.’ But they wanted me to stay and I’m incredibly grateful to them for that.

Balancing the books is a win. Having good owners is a win.

That’s why I don’t get angry or upset if we get relegated because I look at it and go, ‘Norwich City and football will go on for ever, long after I’ve disappeared’.”

Cheating referees, umpires and judges are getting more blatant, corruption jn all sports is rife.  Ask Sir Lewis, the lad Catterall and the numerous players who have been robbed by the PL VAR pirates just this week.  Those doing the cheating don't get sacked but get other jobs

Ian John Lewis is an absolute disgrace and should be nowhere near a boxing ring again. One of the worst decisions I’ve ever seen and his scorecard was disgusting.

  14. Assuming Dean smith is still here next season I hope his playing style changes to something more pleasing on the eye. I know this isn’t his team of signings but we need to get back our identity. Even from kick off we launch it forward hoping for a knock on. Not seen premier teams do that for ten years. Struggling to see any improvement in any players either in his short time here. Hope we kept the receipt for soccerbot.

None of our centre backs would make it into another premier league starting 11. Says a lot!

Was having this discussion with my Everton mate and he would take Hanley over Michael Keane all day. Apart from that I can’t see any of our whole squad getting in the first eleven of any team.Such a sad state of affairs that we’ve constructed the worst top flight team I can remember. The lack of quality, pace and physicality is frightening. There needs to be answers and more importantly changes from the top down.
Without proper investment I can see us falling down the leagues as this team, in my opinion, isn’t good enough for a championship promotion push.

  16. An absolutely joke that this position hasn’t been upgraded by now. Everyone knows we need pace and power in the middle to compete. It’s just boring now watching our midfield chase shadows every game. Not getting anywhere near the opposition and brushed off the ball like a father having a kick about with his toddler son.
I honestly don’t think this side would achieve promotion next season let alone after the departures.

  17. No hate here but he had to go and I’m glad he’s gone. He’s obviously talented but you need more than that. Never struck me as a team player and in our situation you need everyone pulling in the same direction. Hope he does well at Bournemouth so we can potentially get a good fee. Got a feeling this is the beginning of the end of his career though.
