As others have said, little point just making transfers for the sake of transfers. Getting better players in won’t be easy and the club have been incredibly honest and open about the need to sell to fund moves in. This shows we could probably afford some transfers of low quality, but would rather get enough cash to bring in proper talent. When clubs are interested in taking Placheta off our hands you know the level our competitors are aiming at is well below what we would like. To a great extent the market dictates the speed of movement, we could probably get loads of players in from league 2 that noone wants and cost nothing, but what the hell would be the point?

It’s a response to those that do think he plays poor football (not me) to really gauge what they think is the ‘solution’. A lot of posters deriding Smith but I feel the same will not as likely be so negative should we win games, they’ll just go quiet. But it’s also an interesting (imo) debate for a club that are known for playing the ‘right way’, whether the fans truly care how we win.

Lots on here claiming Smith is a hoof ball specialist with no identity. Whilst I disagree with this it made me think, how much would I care about the identity if we were winning every week? Our wins last season came from mostly non-fluent pretty ugly football, but I cheered my gonads off when we won, so for me the result is king. Lack of identity matters in the long term, but that winning feeling covers all sins. Interested to see for those that would rather we keep identity over success what they view as the benefits to a small largely overlooked club regardless. disclaimer: I’m also not suggesting we can’t have both good identity and wins.

I’ll take both your points but disagree on preference. Yes it’s 23 pgs for one signing but once it’s announced and official none of us go back through them do we? People post opinion on every thread, whether that’s lots of opinions within one thread or slightly fewer over loads of threads the result is the same.

In the grand scheme of things does pointing out my request doesn’t matter matter? 😂 there are always bigger fish to fry too, but then why bother posting literally anything on a forum? He often does retort if he wants to. And people with ASD and ADHD are completely capable and functioning intelligent people - patronising them is not really necessary. Im not trying to pick a fight but will happily state my case

I think to be fair 5 (yes FIVE) different threads on the same thing, just with incredibly subtle nuances is a tad unnecessary. CC I acknowledge the importance of your role to many in here but can I make a request that, in the clearly substantial time you are on the forums that you just dedicate one or two minutes to see what’s in the first page or two of threads to see whether you could comment within one. I’m sure we can all agree that new kit mystery reveal, new kit actual reveal, away kit prediction, how the new kit looks on action could ALL have gone in the SAME thread? Named ‘new kit’ or something?! The transfers one works well and is updated pretty regularly to keep it on page 1. Just a non judgemental request

Agree, Hugill is still at best a late desperate addition to chuck long balls and crosses to if we are in dire need of a winner/equaliser. Two goals vs Dereham means literally nothing other than he can operate well at whatever tier they’re in with vastly superior service from midfield.

You’re probably right tbf. There’s me thinking that playing Norwich, even for preseason friendly, might be seen by employers as a bit of a one off type of situation and give their employees a bit of a favour. I think I’m overdoing the significance of Norwich there 😂

Just my opinion, but I reckon we will see similar number of experiments for Regrnsburg and Kings Lynn games with a bit more consistent squad choice vs Marseille, Cambridge, Celtic with the Hibs game used for the likely bench/squad players so first teamers get a bit more rest before game 1
