I don't think it's fair to single anyone out as being poor. Every single one has been terrible. Giving Drmic / Trybull stick because you don't rate them is not fair, as everyone has been a 3/10, at best.

Have we ever had a pair of central defenders as comfortable on the ball as these two? Obiously not saying they are our best ever, but I can't think of a pair of central defenders ever playing together for us who are this comfortable with the ball?

You misunderstand me. I have no problem with him playing (in fact I would pick him over Tettey, as he can pass). I was just commenting that he certainly isn't mobile I also dispute that he is more mobile than Tettey!

I'd bet my house that it's the 4-2-3-1 with one of (very likely Drmic) playing the 10. Trybull is a good player and after the cup games that I've been to this season that he played in, I found a much better appreciation for him. However. Mobile, he is not. In fact, I would suggest if he was mobile, he'd play every game for us.

I agree that it's his best position. Unfortunately for him, Buendia is better there. How about a central midfield two of Rupp and McClean together (if a 4-2-3-1 is used)? I genuinely can't decide if the fact they are both a bit of jack of all trades, master of none, is better or worse than what we usually have. They can both get about the pitch, they can both pass, they can both tackle. They are neither our most offensive or our most defensive options and can perhaps be both when combined (or absolute sh*t). Maybe it's better than having Tettey (who can't pass forward / create attacking play effectively) with Leitner / Vrancic (who can't defend).

Agree. My only criticism of Farke is his use of subs. They have been (mostly) too late. Agreed with all of this. I think Rupp is decent but only as the defensive midfielder. I wouldn't play him with Tettey or Trybull as that doesn't offer enough going forward as a combination, but instead of, along with McClean / Vrancic / Leitner. Definitely. I also wouldn't mind seeing more Leitner. He was a class apart last season. He was poor earlier this season, but that doesn't make im a bad player (I add Stiepermann to this list too. I'd like to see him play a bigger part).

I don't think there was any whoosh. I was under the - obviously incorrect - impression that I was entitled to my own opinion. In my opinion, which is invalid, the speech was nothing particularly impressive. It was OK and there was nothing wrong with it, I just don't get the love in about it. In future, I will try to conform more with what general consesus is and avoid expressing a different opinion.
