  1. On Saturday, you said "Pukki looks finished". Saturday. Can you please try to keep a consistent positon. Please?
  2. Based upon that single performance, I think only Aarons and AO (and to lesser extent Krul) shouldn't be ashamed of their performance. However, you can't drop everyone after one game, I think consistency is important. Of those availabe, I think Krul, Aarons, AO, Giannoulis, Cantwell, Raschica and Pukki will be mainstays of our team this season, so persist with them and I'd also start Sinani as I think he looks like the only one able to pick a pass Pukki would like - and Pukki is our weapon, we just need someone who can load him. I'm hoping when we get the new midfielders in that Sorenson and McLean are backups but until then, they will have to start, as needs must.
  3. I agree with your general theme but struggle with the specifics that the single game against Cardiff is no indication but the single game against Wigan will be more important. How is one game more important than the other (answer: it isn't). I think what's more important is a group / run of games. If after 5 or 6 games we have looked and still look rubbish, well, that's different.
  4. I don't know why I bother responding to rubbish like this but; 85 Championship appearances, 55 goals. Next stupid statement?
  5. I don't think anyone had what could be described as a good game. Sorensen, had an OK game, at best. I think Big Andy or Aarons were probably the best of a bad bunch for me.
  6. If both players are fit but you think your team will perform better with Hugill than Pukki, then your team is the problem, not the player. You should immediately change the team to suit the by far (I cannot emphasize how "far" I mean here enough), far, far better player in Pukki.
  7. I work in Europe a lot. They all do. So do I in fact. What Country does my passport say?
  8. This has been categorically proven to be wrong. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-tayside-central-34909845
  9. According to the Montevideo formula, only the UK is a country. As you need to pass four tests; A permanent population (yes for all), a defined area (yes for all), a system of government (yes for all - apart from England, which does not have it's own, only the UK government, but Scotland, NI & Wales all have their own separate parliament) and - crucially - the ability to enter into independent relations with other states (no for all, apart from UK). So, ironically, England fails 2 and the other home "nations" only fails the last one.
  10. I'm concerned. I usually disagree with every word you say but I actually agree with you. I feel wrong. Whilst I agree, I am not a fan of changing manager every few months and changing a manager, much like making a sub, is only good if the change is an improvement. Therefore I believe it would be wrong at this stage to sack him. I may change my mind in 10 or so more games if things have not dramatically improved.
  11. Depends what the question is. If it's "Which player do we have that couldn't trap a bag of cement" or "Which player do we have that looks like he is blowing out of his *rse within 5 minutes of being on the pitch", he definitely is the answer. If the question is "Who is going to score goals for a team looking to get promoted, hopefully playing a passing style" then I agree, definitely not the answer.
  12. I don't rate Smith much but that is probably mostly due to the manlove I will forever have for Farke. We could have got Pep and I'd have been gutted we didn't have Farke. However, this is a bit far. He has previously shown that he is a competent manager. I'm just waiting for him to do it for us. Hopefully...
  13. "Pukki looks finished". I despair, I really, really do. How do you manage to get dressed in the morning?
  14. I don't agree at all. I thought he looked pretty good. Progressive with the ball like Godfrey was but better at actually defending. I'd pick him ahead of Hanley.
  15. If you're not already a journalist for one of the sensationalist Newspapers, I really recommend you should consider it. You have an uncanny ability to jump to wild conclusions with little (or no) evidence and with zero value of the statement.
  16. I'd argue that Hernandez was already ahead of Placheta and Tzolis for this season, even if they were still here. I like Hernandez, he certainly has limitations and I wouldn't start him most of the time, but as an option against tiring legs, absolutely worth having around. Who would you rather bring on in the 70th minute, Tzolis, Hernandez or Placheta? I'd rather bring my nan on than the other two (and she's 92) so perhaps not the best endorsement, but, his pace, strength and directness will give a different dimension and the opposition something to think about.
  17. The point is not paying as much. No. It entirely isn't like a reserve price. A release clause is not an indication of present value at the time of contract signature (maybe years before the proposed sale) It's a guarantee to the player that the club won't stand in his way if they get a massive offer in future. If you're a buying club and a player you want has a release clause, you would be mad to immediately just offer that, unless you are in desperate need, as maybe they would accept less. Maybe a player had a huge potential at the time of contract signature but hasn't developed as expected, would you still play the release clause? Of course not.
  18. Why would it be different? Just because there's a release clause, doesn't mean they can't offer lower to start with.
  19. I agree. Ignore him and he might stop, or at least reduce it (I realise that by replying I am doing the opposite).
