The old supporters association was an important contributor to club funds in the days before money flooded in from TV worlwide contracts. They paid the fee for Gerry Howshall from WBA (£40000) and contributed to several other player signings. The roof or the corner infill between the South Stand and Barclay was funded (fully or in part I’m not sure) by the NCFSA. Tangible, another brother and I ran the club shop in the rebuilt City stand for quite a few seasons before the club took it over. Dad loved the club and was a good friend of Geoff Watling which gave me the occasional opportunity to travel with the directors to away games. Happy days long lost to the influence of the influx of money in the game. -

To the moaners about Batth’s age would they still be having a pop if we had signed Virgil van **** from Liverpool as he’s also 33? (Yes I know it would never happen).

The honours system is utterly farcical. Giving gongs to people for doing the jobs they are paid to do. -
Whilst we don’t know why the prosecution witness had refused to proceed further a key point for me is the CPS statement that new evidence has come to light that would make a conviction impossible. Not unlikely but impossible. Given that he is innocent as not proven guilty and is and should be entitled to get on with his life. All the righteous posters on here ready to stone him should be careful of the glass houses they live in. innocent until proven guilty is a corner stone of our legal system along with habeus corpus. The court of public opinion is a dangerous place to determine right or wrong.

Rashica, another Webber masterstroke. 😂

£12 million is a reasonable sum for a player whose form has deteriorated over the past two seasons and is a freebie next season.

As the UK’ s contribution to global emissions is about 1% even if we were totally carbon neutral tomorrow it would make FA difference to global climate chsnge. This doesn’t mean that we should not make sensible efforts to reduce our emissions but this is no reason to impose time limits and costs on the public such as banning fossil fuel powered cars by 2030.

If the ball was live then Bairstow was legitimately out. If it wasn’t he wasn’t. It is for the umpires to decide whether it was or not. No blame can be attach to Clary who on cstching the ball immediately three it at the stumps. Players appeal for wickets but it is the umpires who decide whether to uphold the appeal. If,as claimed, the square leg umpire was moving to take up position behind the stumps for the next over this would seem to indicate the ball was dead. the spirit of the game is intangible but none the less important. However this is not why England lost this test or the previous one. At Edgebaston our fielding was poor. At Lords our first innings batting was too bish, bosh, bang like T20 cricket rather than recognising it’s a five day match. He result has been two fabulous matches with narrow winning margins for the Aussies. Yes their apparent flouting of the spirit of the game leaves a bad taste in the mouth but the laws of the game have been upheld.

Immediate Reaction To Stu Leaving

I’m not bothered he’s going. Just needs Delia and MWJ to follow him out of the door so the club can really move forward with fresh leadership. -
Unlike Barnes, Duffy and the Bournemouth lad this potential signing doesn’t get me going. However when you are shopping in Poundland this is what you get.

Best goal scorer in Norwich shirt

Exactly, the best centre forward to wear the yellow and green. No wonder Sir Matt Busby described him as the best centre forward in Europe. The rest are mere supporting cast. -

He might be clueless but no more so than many who post here. -

0-0 at half-time so clueless Smith is not so clueless so far. -
Webber hasn’t put us in this position, it’s Webber and Co. No manager (other than Colin **** perhaps) would have made any difference to a team that seemed to throw in the towel. Webber is correct to say that it will take several transfer windows to address the deficiencies in the current squad.

Right now I can only see two embarrassing defeats for us coming up. The level of squad overhaul required is massive so I have no expectation of it happening. I predicted sn 8 to 12 finish at the start of the season and regrettably that seems to be the outcome. Next season could be even worse. Well done the geriatrics!
