  1. Went to visit my in-laws in Chicago a couple of years ago. Whilst shopping in the city in the virgin megastore I encountered a young lad in a city shirt in the heavy metal section.
  2. We stayed there when back in Norwich for a mates wedding. Got the rooms at half the regular price online, with a pitch view was about £50 which was cheaper than a B&B in Norwich elsewhere. Saw Man U reserves play during pre season, cracker from Tom Adeyemi!! As for timings we checked in well before kick off and so saw the build up and warm up.The view was great, we were half way along so could see all the pitch and corners, this would not have been the case if you were at one end of the hotel. Understandably the windows only opened a couple of inches (safety reasons), consequently all you could hear was the away fans endless chanting - you couldn''t hear the PA system at all. On checking in they did advise you as to the rules and regulations about people/alchol in rooms during the game we didn''t have to sign anything other than the hotel checking in forms.Cheap way for a family/couple to watch the game and stay in a hotel (which was nice inside) but if it''s the footy you want then the atmosphere was poor and I wouldn''t do it again.
  3. Not Pompey but based near Southampton. There used to be ''Hampshire Canary'' on the boards regularly - don''t know if they are still about.
  4. Seemed like a colon missing and an extra http....   http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1209892/THE-LIST-50-41-worst-managerial-reigns-English-football.html
  5. Seems like we are due to add him to the squad according to the official club site. Not sure about him he''s 34, time will tell.
  6. I can''t believe that they rate him more highly that martin reuser (not that im going to start praising any of the binmen) but at least he could cross, score and generally look interested. I do hope they sign Mark and he plays all 46 games on the right wing. He should then contribute 3 goals and 5 crosses all season and they will finish no higher than 14th.
  7. So presumably now we will need to replace Rivers and sign the two/three new players Worthy wants to add to the squad by August 14th. I do agree moobag that it is strange to ignore interest from Burnley and Crewe to the cancel his contract. It has been a while now since we have actually sold a player, Darel Russell? It isn''t really a suprise that worthy has done this after the track record that rivers has had with his fitness/injuries but maybe it should have been done sooner, to free up more cash. A sad final curtain to Mark Rivers Norwich career.
  8. All for the knock down price of 750,000 according to the telegraph. Early report on the Yarmouth game on sky web site for those living away and didnt hear anything about the game. http://www.skysports.com/skysports/article/0,,31-1142051,00.html
  9. The prem plus fixtures have already been announced http://msn.skysports.com/skysports/article/1,,1860-1041569,00.html No sign of the Man Utd game.....
  10. Think it was Patrick Anderson, Peter. He ended up signing for Blackburn for £1million, fairly average then moved on a couple of years later. No great loss in hindsight.
  11. Think that Neil Webb, became a postman. Actually that would be quite amusing each morning, a casual chat to neil webb over the garden fence as he hands over your letters. Also heard that after leaving City Andy Marshall got a job as a goalkeeper....
  12. Contract cancelled by mutual consent according to NCFC official site. Maybe Cooper will be signed to replace him. It is slightly worrying that we will be down 4 players (Sinclair, Easton, Roberts, Crichton) before we begin to add premiership players to the squad.
  13. agree we should give Kevin Cooper a contract. I thought he was superb againt Preston, always wanting the ball, taking on the full back and reliable with possession. Would be a useful squad player whilst we are adding proven premiership class the the first XI
  14. Having witnessed Svensson''s inept efforts at the palace game I think the call for Huck and Leon has more weight behind it now. I genuinely dont remember Svensson winning a ball and passing successfully to a team mate in the entire first half!! You are right Delia that with the new pairing we will have to adapt our game to suit the pacey/shortened attack. But Leon always looks lively, drags wide and hold the ball up very well, (much like Andy Johnson did so successfully on Saturday). As long as the back four dont punt the ball up in the air, playing to feet/space with lowish passes we could have a very potent attacking pair.
  15. totally agree DumbleDelia, obviuosly the odd moment of sexiness would be appreciated by all though.
  16. I''m in the chasing pack Angel, another reliable prediction and I''m there too. Though I''m really not confident of calling the palace game (let alone scorers)
  17. confirmed on the pinkun''- up to date as ever (well dones guys)
  18. Peter, Can we immortalise the post from Norwich Know It all, it will keep us in good spirits for many a year to come. Funnier than the Carl court thread me thinks. It just gets better with every read
  19. Think you have summed it up nicely Hayden, conjuring up some nice but simply frustrating images. Sadly nowadays I rarely sit in the Barclay, but I can''t wait until the next time to see if I can spot the ones you are talking about. What about a prize for spotting these ''fans'' at the palace game? Odds on you''ll end up with all of them in your block at Selhurst as well!!
  20. Careful Peter, you might start another Clint Easton "is he / isn''t he debate". Maybe safer to say its gone a bit Chris Llewellyn. Oh no now Ive done it....
  21. Nice one TWEETY PIE, seriously how can they expect promotion when only Wimbledon have a more leaky defense
  22. Garden City, Sorry I wont be joining you from Letchworth. I''m travelling from Guildford. What I have found in the past is that you turn up to the station (as I did Several years ago now) expecting to be the only one in Yellow & Green. But then there are hoardes of fans all doing the same. There must have been about 60-70 City fans boarding the train at Guildford!! Maybe Letchworth will not be the same but fear not you will not be alone....
  23. Presumably, Peter, your "max points" in the table will be updated as the fixtures pass by. Allowing us to count down as the teams in 3rd to 10th ritually start beating each other.
  24. neville neville is true, and BTW my old maths teacher at school was called Richard Wash, and unfortunately he called himself Dick. I think he still lives in Norwich infact.
  25. I didnt see the comments on TV but did read the report on SKY (and the report on the pink''un). Unless they have missed some of his key comments it doesnt look to me like he actually criticised the fans but just implied that we should relax cheer the team and enjoy the moment. I wasnt at the Gills game, but I have been to many games where we are all too wound up/tense/on edge and the cheering/singing/chanting is sometimes at a minimum. I suppose that given the current prediciment we need to decide what is the most important (and ideally we would want both but..) 3 more points to secure automatic promotion or the beautiful passing game/attacking football we all crave.
