  1. The point is that although it would be completely understandable if Gilmour is ridiculing our shambles of a performance rather than a bird on the pitch (how funny is that ?!) , he should not play for us again.
  2. Yes, rest in peace Gary Brooker. Wonderful memories.
  3. It also would have been Justin Fashanu's 61st Birthday today, no doubt many of us will pause for a moment to remember him. Yes. Good reminder, thanks. Very, very sad. It would be marvellous if Teemu or Josh emulated Justin's wonderful goal against Liverpool today.
  4. Haha. That's rich coming from you LDC. I recall you, with your 20,500 + posts, telling me with my 70 odd posts to 'get a life'. Made me laugh at the time out loud and your post above brought another smile to my face. Thanks for brightening up my day.
  5. WTF is this all about ? I’m clearly very naive. Who is Bennett/he/she/they/it ?
  6. I have only just read your reply Mastoola (and Sussex Yellow's) and I feel I should respond. I do think your response to my post was simplistic - i.e. team not performing, fans complaining, so sack the manager When I referred to the position that we are in, I was of course referring to the retrogression of Webber's project, a project with the stated aims of being a self-funded club, of gaining promotion to the Premiership and becoming established in that division. A project which the vast majority of fans was persuaded to embrace. I wasn't finding fault with Farke at all and I was ashamed at the way he was dismissed. I was focusing on Webber and the fact that he is the Director who devised the project and, as such, he has/had both the responsibility and the authority for the key decisions required at different stages to successfully pursue and achieve the stated aims. Twice we were promoted and twice we have entered the top division with inadequate player resources. One definition of incompetence is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different and better result. IMHO Farke was used as the scapegoat and my view at the time and also now is that it was a shameful low in our wonderful club's history. And, referencing Laurel and Hardy, and borrowing your use of capital letters WHAT A MESS WE ARE IN NOW . We were already becoming a bit of a laughing stock and each day seems to bring even more ridicule on our club. What price The Project now or is that to be abandoned ?
  7. I am stunned and numbed by this news and feel desperately sorry for Farke. The timing is of course horrible and it’s obvious to all that the decision was made before today’s match. Let’s face it, had Brentford beaten us today Farke’s already precarious position would have shifted into perilous. He was already teetering on the brink but many of us hoped he would be able to step back and today’s win allowed us to hope. IMO Webber’s role in all of this is pretty unimpressive and his handling of Farke from the recently awarded 4 year contact to today’s sacking has the stench of incompetence and passing of the buck. Good luck Daniel and thanks for the wonderful times and football you gave us , some of the best I have ever seen from Norwich. I won’t mention the bad times !
  8. All jolly good stuff on here but Webber should take huge responsibility for the position that we are in. Personally, I am shocked and disgusted. How ill-judged it was of Webber to recommend to the Board snd conclude a new four year contract with DF only a few months ago. The decision and its timing stinks of utter incompetence.
  9. I voted Remain but, in the interests of balance!, I must say that when I have asked friends and acquaintances exactly why they voted Remain, I was left with the clear feeling that they didn't know themselves. The impression given was simply the ease of staying with the status quo.
  10. Perhaps this late 'long after the horse has bolted' Webber revelation was deliberately rolled out at this unsettled time to unify and bring the fans on side about our best player leaving the club. However, it clearly implies that the club did not need to sell Emi Buendia and only did so because of a hissy fit and, if that is the case, the club should have told him that he signed a contract which still has X* years left to run and he would be staying at the club until the club decided whether or not to release him ahead of contract expiry - with a review in the January window. I don't buy into the cliched "oh well, if he doesn't want to stay at the club we should let him go" position**. The club has to do what is in the best interest of the club and allowing Buendia to go just before the start of another crucial stab at staying in the premiership was odd, particularly having viewed the clutch of replacement Buendia hopefuls. All that having been said, this latest claim about Buendia is in sharp contrast with the previous claim that Buendia stayed at Norwich last season because he was promised he could leave at the end of that season. Or perhaps my memory is letting me down. * I don't know how many years were left on his contract but if two or more then IMO the club had a duty to keep him given that we are now led to understand that the club did not need to sell him for for financial reasons ** I don't believe that a player will either perform badly or not at all because of a sulk over not being allowed to go at his chosen time rather than at a time chosen by the club. How would such behaviour be helpful to gaining a move to a 'better and bigger' club ?
  11. Yes, the same poster with almost 20,000 posts to his name who told me ‘to get a life’ when I questioned the motivation behind one of his posts !
  12. I cannot believe the police waded in with batons to start with. What were they thinking ? I wonder when the police last used batons on fans inside or outside a stadium.
  13. I meant to add that I also think that if the UK footballing authorities really do have principles prioritised over revenue, they should boycott the World Cup in Qatar. I would support that without question.
  14. Couldn't agree more with this. I would go so far as to say that as well as taking the knee to show solidarity against racism wherever it exists (although of course, it will never be wiped out and will possibly make existing racists - and I really don't think there are so many in our society -more hard line ) players should take the knee against the repression of women. But, then, where does it end ?
  15. Good reminder and memories. A Caister lad and a very exciting player. Linked to Man Utd at one time.
  16. "Give it a rest. Someone who sees 'colour' and not 'the person' is the one with the problem." Irony ?
